Q may get moved "sooner than you think"
Chicago White Sox replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Jose Quintana will NOT be a member of the White within 72 hours. Dave wouldn't double-down on the smoke here unless he had something of substance. -
Q may get moved "sooner than you think"

It's funny to see how Cubs fans value Schwarber and how all other fanbase value him now. People on northsidebaseball.com were pissed at the thought of the Babe for Michael Fulmer. Where as every other fanbase thought it was a joke of an offer. I personally think he's overrated in Cubsdom, but will still be a very nice DH at some point. Certainly not a headliner for Q anymore though. -
Amado Nunez bumped up to Great Falls.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 07:08 AM) Between Rodgers and Jimenez, who would you take first? SS and catcher are so key. We obviously can't get Turner, Seager, Correa, Lindor, etc. And Dansby Swanson has been a disaster this year, just like Timmy Anderson. Same with Bregman. Well, disappointing, at the very least. Tatis, Jr., haha? Russell and Baez are the obvious names. To get Jimenez and one of those two, who else do you give the Cubs? Kahnle? Swarzak? Holland? MiGo? Shields, writing off almost all of his remaining salary? Obvious Maddon connection there. Seems impossible to also get Candelario too, biting off a bit much. The Sox aren't giving up on Anderson, so I'm not sure why you're listing off a group of major league shortstops that aren't available. If Hahn was smart, he'd tried to get Kieboom for Robertson to serve an insurance in case Anderson isn't working out in a few years.

If Jimenez is on the table for sure. Can't pass up a top 5 or so prospect because of an inter-city rivalry, especially after the Cubs already ended their World Series drought.

Did Reinsdorf sell Bulls Draftee to sign Jake Burger?

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:44 PM) Ahh, YOU'VE defended "some viewpoints in the past", but now YOU'VE decided you don't agree with other relevant viewpoints. Well, Admins, i find myself in agreement with many of the sentiments shared by this poster. Not every point of view, but many of them. But I'd never be so bold or disrespectful as to try and cut his point of view off simply because "I" didn't agree with his point of view, no matter how many times he tried to push them across. This has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with your viewpoint, it's about the fact that now you simply see the name Reinsdorf and go on a b**** fest. Your post had zero relevance to the subject at hand. You are now derailing conservations as part of your creepy personally ventedda against Reinsdorf. And the worst part is that despite getting called out by multiple posters, you can't acknowledge how bizarre and random your post was and instead go on the defensive of your viewpoint. We all get it, you think Reinsdorf sucks. For the love of god, stop bringing it up at the sight of his name. You are bringing nothing new to the table, you're simply recycling the same old points over and over again. It's behind annoying man. -

Admins, I think it's time you finally ban Thad Bosley. I've defended some of his viewpoints in the past, but he's literally off his rocker and is now polluting random threads with his bizarre Reinsdorf hatred. -

QUOTE (OklahomaBrave @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:10 PM) Other than the generational talent etc. etc. comments I think the main hold up on trading him is because he isn't able to be valued properly. A guy with a lot of hype, warranted or not, can't be the BIG centerpiece. We'd have to trade him as a 2nd/3rd piece when he could be a year and a half away from being the majority of a deal. So while I think they do love him, it's equally about recognizing its irresponsible to trade an asset before it reaches maturation. From the Sox perspective, no matter how much talent Maitan has, it would be equally irresponsible to accept such an unknown quantity as a headliner. I'm sure they'd love him as a second piece, but Braves wouldn't consider that. This is a great post and I 100% agree. -

QUOTE (OklahomaBrave @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 11:03 PM) If it is the Cubs, hope for Victor Carantini as a 3rd/4th piece. Recent helium and is blocked. Honestly, I was just thinking about him earlier tonight. Given our catching situation, he'd be a great guy to target at the back end of the deal. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:58 PM) Jimenez is legit. I'd be stoked to get him. Cease on the other hand is a question mark. Great stuff (throws 100+, great breaking ball, etc), but as fathom pointed out earlier, scouts have questioned if he's a starter long term. Plus, he's had TJS before. He's a good second piece, but risky. Yeah, I'm not a huge Cease fan, but I'll take him as the 2nd piece if Jimenez is the headliner. -

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 10:34 PM) Watch the write-ups then of Reinsdorf's so-called "legacy" in a few years when his tenure as owner of both teams has ended. The narrative has already begun in several fluff pieces: Reinsdorf being described as "so awesome" for the city of Chicago because he brought "seven" championships to the city. He brought six Bulls trophies along with the lonely ONE and only ONE championship achieved on the South Side over his nearly 40 years at the helm there. Reinsdorf somehow being made a hero in this city because he's compared to the losing likes of the Tribune Company, the McCaskey's, and Bill Wirtz. Can you imagine any faint praise greater than this!! We ought to watch out for the favorable journalistic license already underway to conflate this guy's record during his near 40 year record on the South Side with that with which Michael Jordan allowed him to achieve with the Bulls. Make no mistake: Reinsdorf's last chance for salvaging his legacy is tied to this rebuild. If under Reinsdorf's waning days of ownership, Hahn can manage to acquire and develop the kind of players that will lead to a level of achievement manifesting itself in the organization's FIRST-EVER display of sustainable postseason play, then MAYBE Reinsdorf's legacy will withstand historical scrutiny. Otherwise, he'll be lumped in with the Allyns and the rest with the rest of the organization's sad record of futility. What the f*** does this have to do with anything? -

Let's say we get Jimenez for Quintana and then draft Joe Gray Jr in the 2018 draft: 1B: Sheets 2B: Moncada SS: Anderson 3B: Burger LF: Jimenez CF: Gray RF: Robert DH: Abreu C: Collins Add a big time free agent wherever you are the weakest and you could have one hell of a lineup in a few years. -

QUOTE (OklahomaBrave @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 09:25 PM) Braves fan here, been following Quintana trade possibilities for awhile. I got the notification from Rosenthal as well. Saw the piece about an unexpected trade looming. Didn't see team or players named. Of course it was deleted instantly. Yeah buddy! Thanks for sharing! -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) Take this with a grain of salt, but a bunch of MLB fans are claiming that Rosenthal tweeted and then quickly deleted something about progress being made on Quintana to the Cubs. edit: and it's not a fake account or anything, they subscribe for notifications when the real Rosenthal tweets and all claim to have gotten this notification MLB fans? -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) Stroman or M. Fulmer I don't think either of those guys is moved. Doing so would signal a full-fledged rebuild and I don't see either team doing that. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 07:15 PM) No way they give up Eloy and Schwarber I thought the Babe Schwarber was a dead giveaway, but I'm on the same page with you. I'm not the biggest Candelario fan, but it would be hard to pass on Jimenez if the secondary pieces are decent at all. -

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 06:56 PM) Cubs #1 prospect Eloy Jimenez also absent from the lineup today. No news on that one either. His profile on milb.com says he's on the temporary inactive. He didn't play yesterday either I believe. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 04:00 PM) There is zero chance the Sox would turn down a deal involving McMahon and Rodgers form Colorado. Rodgers would be hard to turn down, but I think McMahon is incredibly overrated and makes a terrible second piece. -

QUOTE (whitesoxwinner @ Jul 12, 2017 -> 03:32 PM) Who says no or do they both do it: White Sox: Quintana Yankees: Frazier, Andujar, Fowler White Sox: Quintana Braves: Acuna, Soroka, Gohara +lotto White Sox: Quintana Brewers: Brinson, Dubon, Phillips +lotto White Sox: Quintana Rockies: Rodgers, McMahon, Lambert I'd say none of those trades work. Braves definitely say no. Yankees say no simply to avoid giving up two OFs. Sox say no to Brewers & Rockies because of the secondary pieces.
