  1. f***, not how you want to start the inning. Come back and get Arenado out Q!
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:50 PM) He did. And Engel is a stud defensively. Yeah, I'd really like to give Leury & Engel everyday at-bats, although both guys obviously need to be CFs for their bats to play up. But in a rebuilding season, it probably doesn't matter.
  3. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:48 PM) Yolmer was SAFE. But, the 2bman lifted his leg up and off the bag. Cheaters! Didn't he simply slide off the bag? And why do your posts read like Trump tweets?
  4. Frazier's OPS up to .789. And what the f*** did Yolmer just do?
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:30 PM) I might be Willy's biggest fan on this site. Has power (although that hasn't translated), decent speed, by far our best defensive RF and has been taking his walks. He might not amount to much, but I wanna see what he can do with more PT. His defense alone is probably gonna put his WAR up there. I'm with you, I'm a huge Willy fan. I think he deserves more playing time once we trade Frazier & Melky. The only problem is we'll actually have a positional logjam. Once Moncada claims 2B, we'll have Leury, Engel, Willy, Delmonico, Davidson, & Sanchez to cover CF, LF, 3B, & DH. I worried that Willy may be the odd man out.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:46 PM) I still don't think a Gavin Floyd comp for Lucas is far off at all. Floyd got a taste of the majors and then went to AAA the next year and had an ERA over 6. Both big guys with good fastball/curve combo with a lot of moving parts. I also think the same about him, Fulmer etc. that I do with a number of those Charlotte guys - I wouldn't mind seeing them in the majors to be around a major league staff. How many guys have we had come up this year that have looked better than their AAA numbers might indicate? Get them around our best coaches and away from whatever they are doing in Charlotte. I was actually thinking the same thing today. Giolito might be better off in the majors working with Coop.
  7. God f***ing damn it. Hopefully he can limit the damage to two runs.
  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:22 PM) Watching the bottom the the seventh (only a 7 inning game). Burdi is warming. Lucas looks like he's losing a little control. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:30 PM) Giolito complete game shutout! 7 IP 2 H 0 R 0 ER 2 BB 10 SO At least my Giolito prediction worked out!
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:20 PM) ... you were saying? QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 08:20 PM) You were saying?? Happy to be wrong about this one!!
  10. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) I was thinking about what the rotation might look like in 2020... - Rodon - Kopech - Hansen - Dunning - Lopez - Giolito - Fulmer - Danish - Somebody in the organization who could emerge (like Matt Cooper or Spencer Adams) - Somebody we've never heard of In other words, it won't be the end of the world if Fulmer ends up being a reliever. I agree 100%. We should have plenty of other starting options by 2020. And honestly, I think they should switch him back to a reliever right now and see if his stuff plays up. I'd rather see Adams or Guerrero get his spot in the Charlotte rotation.
  11. Lol @ Yolmer batting 5th. I get we don't have a lot of options, but I'd probably roll the dice with Willy in that spot.
  12. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) That's what rebuilding looks like. Throw enough darts and hopefully 1 of Davidson, Yolmer, Leury, Engel, etc ends up sticking. Yup, there is zero reason to keep Frazier around. If Davidson ultimately fails, then try someone else there. Delmonico & Sanchez are both waiting in the wings and there's always the possibility of claiming/picking up a failed prospect.
  13. I would seriously consider sending Bababe down to Kannapolis for a week or two. His confidence has to be pretty much shot at this point. My guess is it will happen when Call gets sent back to Winston Salem.
  14. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 07:19 PM) Dunning's final line - 5IP, 8H, 4ER, 6K, 3BB. Giolito and Stephens are both off to solid starts so far tonight. Doesn't really seem like a terrible start unless those hits were hit hard. At least he still managed to K a bunch of guys.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 07:01 PM) And don't get hurt hitting or running. Take three strikes and sit down. I agree with that!
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 05:55 PM) Dunning getting roughed up by a team he's faced three times now Are you implying something by the "faced three times" comment?
  17. QUOTE (Soha @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) Looks like he had a big day. 3 for 4 with a HR and triple and 4 rbi's. Average was like .188 when i looked this morning I think, now it's .300 Either way, the Yankees have been sliding out of the race. I'd be very surprised if they were buyers. I mean, it's 22 plate appearances. I seriously doubt his production in those at-bats has any impact on whether they decide to keep or trade him. Also, the Yankees are still in the lead for the wild card. Adding Quintana fits both short-term and long-term goals. Furthermore, the Yankees are already loaded with outfielders on the major league roster (when healthy) and should have Fowler back sometime next season. I personally think Frazier is expendable for them.
