  1. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) Exactly. They need to trade either Q or Sale (preferably) to improve this ballclub. We can act like they don't, but we also know there are no FA or realistic trade options (with our thin system) to help the 2017 team. It's really frustrating that even when we're intent on selling we still can't have it work in our favor. Hahn should be trying every damn selling tactic he can to unload some of these players. It's unacceptable otherwise because the entire course of our future depends on it. Standing pat or unloading a player like Robertson for a Hector Molina type wont get it done either In all reality we need to blow this team the f*** up. This offense is a complete joke and there is nothing on the horizon to make it much better anytime soon. Between now and this offseason, we need to trade Sale, Quintana, Gonzalez, Shields, Robertson, Duke, Frazier, Lawrie, & Melky. Recoup as many assets as possible. Stockpile draft picks the next two years and hope to be competitive in 2019, when there will be some actual free agents available to plug holes. To me, there is no other alternative. This team as currently constructed is broken and there is limited hope to fix it before Sale hits free agency. Do the smart thing for once and sell, sell, sell.
  2. I appreciate and respect all the Future Sox writers, but Call being ranked 15th is absurd. Behind Fisher? What? Also, Micker needs to be bumped down a bit until he shows some baseball ability. And no Delmonico in the top 30? I'm not sure why he was excluded.
  3. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 07:12 AM) Just saw sox fans talking about this on Twitter. Well use this as a Frazier thread for any rumors surrounding him. What do you think you'd want in return from the Mets? Link to these tweets?
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:02 PM) I dont think Texas will go for it...like I've been saying they would have to sacrifice lineup players. Plus they actually cant trade Gallo right now. Maybe Boston...but DD is going to play stupid games until the last second We have lineup players we can include. Melky Cabrera would make a lot of sense for them, especially if they were to include Mazara in the deal.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) I guess the Cubs fans that were outraged they traded for a wife beater are over it once they see triple digits on the gun. Giving my wife s*** about this right now. What a joke that fanbase is.
  6. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Rangers are now only 2.5 games ahead of the Astros With Texas, Houston, & Boston all competing for two spots, we should be able to get a haul from one of them for Sale or Quintana. One of them will definitely get desperate.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Remember back when Ranaudo was the worst fathom had ever seen and Soxfest was sad about him starting? Lol good times Don't forget Dick Allen immediately calling him a "AAAA pitcher" after a tough first inning!
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) i don't even think its a question .320/.432/.483 and 5 HR 8 SBs in 36 games so far Collins & Fulmer are our top two guys. I would say the next four should consist of Burdi, Hansen, Adams, & Call. Right now, I'd probably put Call 5th, just ahead of Burdi but it's close.
  9. At bare minimum, we should trade Robertson & Duke now, as relievers are always worth more at the deadline than in the offseason. We should also seriously explore trading Frazier & Melky. Those two should have some value and it should be much higher now when they can contribute to two playoff runs than just one.
  10. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 09:44 PM) BBTN just had a segment about Sale and what it would take to get him. Boston - Said Bogaerts and Betts are totally off limits and that Moncada, Benentendi, Kopech, and Swihart was too much. Said Moncada, Kopech, Swihart, and Eduardo Rodriguez was a fair return for the White Sox. Rangers - Said Mazara, Gallo, Profar, and Dillon Tate was too much and that Mazara, Profar OR Gallo, Luis Ortiz, and Dillon Tate was a fair return. I don't think I'm good with either of the "fair" packages. Especially with some of the trades that have already happened in the past couple weeks. Three and a half years of a top 5 pitcher in baseball on an extremely team friendly deal is going to have to be an unprecedented package of talent in return and I'm not seeing that in the afore mentioned proposals. I'd probably do those deals for Quintana, but definitely not for Sale.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) The trade deadline tease is upon us. Yup, I bet KW is already on the phone trying to sell teams on all our star minor leaguers!
  12. Come on Robertson, no walks tonight! Let's get a win and build up that trade value!
  13. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) Yeah it's 2 1/2 years and just under $30M left for Robertson. Really not unreasonable at all in my opinion. Take out 3 bad outings this year and there really isn't much to complain about Eh, he's walked a ton of guys this year. I'm worried he could have a steep falloff in the next season or two and I'd rather take a prospect or two for him and call it a day.
  14. Saladino is easily my favorite player on this team! Make them pay bud!
  15. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Posted this over in the Trade Winds forums as well, but Sanchez was pulled early in the bottom of the 3rd for Delmonico. Anyone got any ideas the reason behind that? Seems odd to pull him so early. #HugWatch? Injury?
  16. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS&date=2016-07-26 Alex Call 2-4, HR. Stud. He may be a top five prospect in our system at this point. Dude looks legit IMO.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) He has a year and a half of control too. Robertson? He has two and half years of control right?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) The Nationals have some guys even besides their top ones who could get a deal done. Yeah, this is Robertson we're talking about. The 5th or 6th prospect in a strong system is good enough as the headliner if we're not eating any salary.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) Rick Hahn seems like such a nice guy. I don't want to hate him. Not according to Caulfield.
  20. That list is pretty depressing when you consider how much some of those prospects have fallen this season. The top half of the list should be a lot more exciting with the 2016 draftees in there. Regardless, I'm still not sure how Buddy Bell has his job. For a while you could argue there was a serious talent issue, but it's clear as night and day that we have an issue on the player development side.
  21. If we don't sell, I'm going to take a break from White Sox baseball until there are changes in the front office. Failure to sell in the ultimate seller's market when we're 6.5 games out of a playoff spot would be one of the most short-sighted decisions in franchise history. I'm trying to remain optimistic that they've finally learned that endless retooling doesn't lead to sustainable success, but with this braintrust & ownership group it's hard not to fear the worst.
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) Wonder if adding Robertson and eating some money would help land both in a Q deal? Red Sox are not paying a premium in prospects for cash savings. And Robertson is nowhere near good enough to warrant an elite prospect being included.
