Trade thoughts
Amazing there will literally be two sellers and we will still end up being unable to move Crochet & Robert

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Leverage for what? Crochet just killed any chance of trading him for a haul and Robert has decided to get ice cold at the wrong time.

Trade thoughts
He has 0.7 fWAR which is fine for a bench / role player. I think we get some sort of lottery ticket which is fine for a scrap heap signing.

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
I mean, the early signs aren’t promising. Luckily we only need nine of them.

I will say my expectations are dropping by the minute…lol

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
When are those guys coming back though?

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
Maybe, but I think if that’s the case it’s playing for this dogshit team
-
7/25 - Sox/Rangers
At least the Rangers sweeping probably creates some hesitation of selling Also, fucking fire Grifol the moment the trade deadline is over with

7/25 - Sox/Rangers
How does he have a shitty additude?
-
7/25 - Sox/Rangers
I think he’s simply trying to do too much with an offense around him that’s completely worthless
-
7/25 - Sox/Rangers
Hope he likes playing on the south side because he’s tanking his trade value

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
Yeah, this would be very disastrous and make hard to trade him this deadline
-
Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
I wasn’t a huge fan of either trade at the time and both are looking rough right now unless Larson hits.

Crochet wants an extension to pitch in the playoffs
I will say Bowden is very bad / inconsistent with his trade proposals

Trade thoughts
Here are my final predictions: Trade #1: Exchange: SP Garrett Crochet & RP Michael Kopech to BAL for 1B/3B Coby Mayo, OF Dylan Beavers, 2B Connor Norby, & LHP Luis DeLeon Rationale: Despite the skepticism, Elias finally nuts up for Crochet after being unable to acquire Skubal. Sox get one elite positional prospect in Mayo plus two other near major league bats that can help speed up the timing of the rebuild greatly. Kopech is also part of the trade to give the O’s another back-end relief option for 2024 & 2025, with a young, projectable LH arm coming back to the Sox help balance things out. Trade #2: Exchange: CF Luis Robert to PHI for SS Aiden Miler, OF Justin Crawford, & RHP Mick Abel Rationale: All the “Phillies don’t need to add” talk turns out to be nothing as Dombrowski can’t resist landing the elite CF he needs to cap off the roster. He gives up two high-end prospects in Miller & Crawford, but keeps Painter and Caba (who can eventually replace Turner when he ages out). Sox also got a Brian Bannister special in Abel, whose stock has fallen materially since the start of the season. Trade #3: Exchange: SP Erick Fedde to CLE for 1B Ralphy Velazquez & RHP Andrew Walters Raitonale: The Guardians are desperate for SP and are able to land one who can be part of a playoff rotation and is also cheap and controllable for another season. After landing multiple RH hitters in other trades, the Sox get a young LH 1B/DH type who can potentially be an impact hitter in a few years. As a sweetener, the Sox also get a high upside, near major league ready relief prospect who can slot into a role next year. Beyond these trades, I fully expect Pham, DeJong, & Brabbia to be dealt with Flexen & Banks also legit options to to be moved. For these guys, I’d mostly expect lottery tickets so unable to really speculate on specific returns.

White Sox sign...
Better player I agree. But I do like the upside of those two you mentioned more than McLain & Antonacci. All that being said, Shirley probably deserves trust until proven otherwise.

White Sox sign...
To be honest, my main concern with McLain & Antonacci is a lack of upside. Just worry that given the lack of positional depth in the minors, that we went after high floor guys who have little to no chance of being difference makers (which Hostetler also did quite a bit when we kicked off the rebuild).

White Sox sign...
So do Pham & Clevinger ?

White Sox sign...
Why not take Sirota over McLain?

Heyman live chat at B/R noon central time
Wilson has a ton of control left, I’m not moving him unless we get legit value for him which probably doesn’t happen right now.

The Fedde market is going to be very different than the Crochet market due to the prospect capital involved. Obviously there is some overlap, but not a ton of teams have what it takes to land Crochet.

Does Dalton Rushing hit enough to play 1B? If not, I’d probably prefer De Paula despite the defensive concerns.

Which is unfortunate because I’m not sure how much his numbers will improve without any protection and you incur potential injury risk (although I’m in the minority in thinking his injuries have been flukish in nature).

Cardinals Have Strong Interest in Fedde
I think we’re at the point we desperately need bats and more pitching has a much lower marginal value. And yes, you can never have enough pitching theoretically, but we’re also rocking an all-time bad offense with a mostly barren farm system.
