I know the media loves Conner, but he would have been a safe choice and so would have the Red Sox guy. Schriffen at least brings an energy that is very much different than your typical baseball announcer.

I mean, it seems like he’s trying to increase the value of franchise before he dies and passes it on to his kids to sell in exchange for generational wealth. Nothing he could really do up until now given the timing of his current leave agreement.

If you can get a ballpark village around the stadium in a premium area, I think that outweighs any benefits a retractable roof can provide. Especially when there are going to be plenty of facilities that can house winter events, including a new Bears stadium. The juice is just not worth the squeeze at that point.

Feels like Foster is going to miss some time given when his surgery was, so perhaps they view him as a guy who go on the 60 day like you said and open up a roster spot for Leasure or a non roster invitee.

For now, I’m assuming he starts in the minors, but obviously there is no clear indication there.

It sounds like they are planning to go with a smaller scale, more intimate park if they get this lot at the 78. Not sure if the renderings that have leaked are real, but the park would be spectacular if legit and would imply Jerry is letting the experts take full control of designing this one.

So with this signing, what do we think the bullpen will look like on OD? My assumption is there are only a handful of locks and there will competition for many spots. CL: Santos SU: Brebbia SU: Leasure MR: Garcia MR: Hill* MR: TBD MR: Drohan* LR: Toussaint Honestly, I’m not even sure I can come up with eight dudes that warrant looks next year. Hopefully that TBD spot is filled by a non-roster invite because the internal options loo rough. And don’t feel good about using Leasure in a high leverage role, but again, the options are limited here. At least Jordan has the stuff needed to be successful in that role.

Are you suggesting a veteran 2B addition? I really can’t see it. I think Lopez is the guy come OD with Sosa, Shoemake, & Popeye eventually pushing him for the spot. That is unless somehow we add Westburg in a Cease trade.

Possibly a Cease trade. Zero reason to sign a RF if there is still a chance a BAL deal comes to fruition.

Foster has an option left. I think there is more obvious fat to cut.
