  1. $100M vs. $75M isn’t really all that different
  2. Wasn’t great command either IMO today
  3. And Schultz pulled with one out and based loaded
  4. Future White Sox players batting 4th & 8th for the AL squad and 1st & 8th tor the NL squad (I hope). Also, hopefully Rolle Tide doesn’t get triggered by who is batting 5th.
  5. Sorry, I meant pair Flexen with Crochet in a trade to solve the temporary innings dilemma that Garrett comes with. I think Flexen is gone no matter what though.
  6. They will eventually sign some guys for up to $100M each. Obviously anything beyond that is probably unlikely with Reinsdorf alive.
  7. Baldwin probably gets first crack at SS even if he’s more of a 2B long term.
  8. I kind of think you pair him with Crochet to provide some innings while Garrett is temporarily ramped down.
  9. To be fair, it’s Rosenthal who is saying the Phillies won’t be trading for Robert. Bowden said he was one of their three main targets for the OF.
  10. Zero chance Sosa is the placeholder 1B as he will never hit that much.
  11. That’s a good question. To me, next year is going to be a massive transitional season with many of our better prospects getting their first real opportunity. It probably won’t be pretty overall but my guess is it will be better than the s%*# show that is the 2024 season. I think they spend some money, but the more impactful signings probably don’t happen until the following offseason.
  12. I think they want a CF though and that ain’t Pham even if we’re playing him there.
  13. I think the plan would be make him an opener for two months and then ramp him back up to a starter before the playoffs. Two NL GMs that Jim Bowden talked to who have interest in Crochet said as much. And I think that plan could potentially work, although it certainly comes with risk. That being said, there is no player available who could have a potentially bigger impact in October than Crochet. If you’re confident in what you have to make the playoffs, he’s the ultimate World Series swing for GMs with big balls.
  14. Yes, I think it’s all but a certainty that a lot of these guys start reaching next year, many probably in May or June. But I could see Baldwin in the Opening Day mix and so will some of the other pitchers who will likely be called up after the deadline.
  15. Sounds like his opinion more than something he’s actually heard. Not 100% going for it when you have a real chance doesn’t sound like Dombrowski to me.
  16. Baltimore gets competitive balance picks which makes a world of a difference in “drafting studs later”.
  17. He was awesome in 2021 as a reliever and the stuff is still there…need a couple of teams that think they can fix him and we can something interesting.
  18. It’s wild how much he’s decreased the usage of the slider and how much less effective it has been this year. A big part of that looks to be command driven because in 2021 it was a very productive pitch and he consistently hit the bottom corner of the zone. This year he’s all over the place and it shows. If a teams think they can fix that pitch, then he may a little more value than most of us our thinking. 2021 Kopech with a year of control would be one of the most valuable players on the market right now.
  19. He’s already expendable
  20. I was very against Caglianone until this post…now I am all in
  21. I like how you’re thinking!
