  1. Yup, his ISO was .099 after August 1st and his wRC+ during this stretch was definitely propped up by an abnormally high BABIP. Could just be a rough stretch power wise, but I’m not sure I’d be overly excited committing to him for the next three years during his age 37 to 39 seasons.
  2. Keith Law wrote a piece on Abreu signing with the Astro’s. Let just he’s not a fan of giving Jose the contract that they did ?
  3. Jerry has always done things his way, for better or worse.
  4. Agreed, but still interesting that someone finally outed Jerry for this.
  5. Not sure where to place this, but wow wow wow:
  6. It’s exactly what I predicted for a one year deal with no team option. Eager to see the final terms as it would be nice if some of the guaranteed dollars were going towards a potential option.
  7. Happy for Jose but signing him to that deal wouldn’t make sense for us. Still need to add a quality LH outfield to offset some of the production he provided last year.
  8. Same title that he had with the Reds…wonder what the background is for leaving them / joining us. Also, I believe this is what Grifol & Hahn were whispering about during their press conference. Exciting addition for us.
  9. 100% my theory as well. Added muscle hurt his flexibility and made the repeatability of mechanics more challenging.
  10. Is that mechanics driven though and therefore correctable? I’m not sure why else he’d suddenly lose velocity at his age short of suffering a major injury that we’re unaware of.
  11. I still think a cheap swingman with a guaranteed deal is possible.
  12. There is no guarantee he will return to form obviously, but there are some reasons for optimism and I don’t think you’re getting this high of a ceiling for any other pitcher in this price range. Also, let it be know that I think Giolito will rebound next year and be firmly in the 3 to 4 win range and that Kopech will take a big leap forward and finally become a 3+ win pitcher.
  13. For Lynn, they should try to get him to lose a little weight to take some pressure off his knees. He’s still a really good pitcher when he’s actually on the mound.
  14. So apparently we offered Madrigal & Dunning at the 2020 trade deadline for Clevinger before he was ultimately shipped off to the Padres.
  15. FWIW, Herb Lawrence said that he talked to some people in San Diego and they claimed he was a perfectly fine guy in their clubhouse. I agree what he did with the Indians was horrible (especially with Francona as manager), but I believe in giving people second chances if they show remorse, outside of certain truly evil things. That being said, I’m assuming (or at least hope) the Sox have done their homework on his character before signing him.
  16. And that would be awesome….let’s hope you’re right
  17. Orlando (Bartolo’s Colonoscopy) already banned me on Twitter and I had never even tweeted at him. These fake insiders have real thin skin apparently…lol.
  18. He apparently had an interest in playing in Chicago and/or for the White Sox, so it’s possible he took a little less than other offers with less desirable locations.
  19. I don’t think it’s been formally revealed yet. All we know is it’s a one year commitment and the total guarantee is greater than $8M.
  20. Let’s be honest, anyone who would pretend to be a White Sox insider to gain a “following” on social media is a massive fucking loser. The sad part is how many people buy into his bullshit.
  21. Unfortunately plot holes happen when you quickly race to steal someone else’s rumor without thinking it through properly
  22. I don’t think trading Giolito is the appropriate shake-up though. And one year of a 3+ win pitcher and a draft pick is better than what we’ll get in return for him via trade plus whatever we do with the $10M in savings.
