  1. Great night for the farm outside Cespedes & Thompson. Also, Bryan Ramos is fucking incredible. Scratch cracking top 100 lists, dude is going to cement himself as a top 50 prospect by season’s end. Colas & Montgomery probably will as well. Those three are the holy trinity of Sox positional prospects. And great start to the season for Sosa. Kid is a super slept on prospect and adding some patience to his game could elevate his status to the next level. He’s only 22 years old so not surprising to see his game evolve like this even if the walk rate is unsustainable. Finally, speaking of unsustainable walk rates, Yogurt is getting on base like crazy (23% BB rate so far). Dude is 25 years old and needs to be promoted to AAA ASAP. Seems like he may have a chance to be more than just a dude, but would be nice to see how he does against the junkballers in AAA.
  2. Leury Garcia is currently on pace for -10.8 fWAR. I get it’s only a six game sample, but that is impressive nonetheless.
  3. Trade his ass for a Cuban SS so we can trade Timmy for some more Cuban pitching to supplement Vera.
  4. Leury is a Tony favorite and therefore he was rewarded a loyalty contract. Signing him for three years makes no sense when the market didn’t require such a lengthy commitment and the fact we have several guys in the upper minors who profile as reserve infielders or utility guys.
  5. IMO, if there are six games a week on average and two are vs. LHP here’s how I’d address the issue if everyone is healthy. Versus RHP: 1B: Abreu (3/4) | Sheets (1/4) LF: Jimenez (3/4) | Vaughn (1/4) RF: Pollock (3/4) | Vaughn (1/4) DH: Sheets (1/4) | Vaughn (1/4) | Grandal (1/4) | Jimenez (1/4) CA: Grandal (2/4) | McGuire (2/4) Versus LHP: 1B: Abreu (2/2) LF: Jimenez (1/2) | Pollock (1/2) RF: Pollock (1/2) | Engel (1/2) DH: Vaughn (2/2) CA: Grandal (2/2) This allows the core starters (including Vaughn) to play five out of every six games. Sheets gets two starts a week against tough RHP, McGuire starts two games against RHP (where he is solid), and Engel gets a token start plus late game duties. If someone goes down, then Sheets’ playing time increases substantially. Until then he should be a role player whose playing time reflects that.
  6. And when a guy like Romy should be able to fill his role by next season at nearly 10% of the cost.
  7. I don’t actually hate Leury, but just find it mind boggling they felt compelled to give him a three year deal.
  8. At least we have you here to perform fellatio on the front office on a daily basis.
  9. Lol…that last point is plain dumb and just highlights your strange bias against Vaughn.
  10. So would it be a double-header tomorrow? I guess I didn’t think about that element. Also, are double headers seven inning games in the new CBA?
  11. Ray is like the one lefty we’ve struggled against though. I don’t want to be a downer here, but Keuchel installs zero faith at the moment. Hopefully he proves me wrong and give us solid five innings that keep us within striking distance.
  12. I think if everything went right with Colson you’re looking at a 2024 ETA.
