We got to hope that the Mets are prioritizing Realmuto and pitching over the OF. If so, it really does seem that we could be the favorites for Springer. I’m crossing my fingers as he is such a crazy good fit for this club despite being RH. The more I think about it, the more I love the idea of a Springer + Darvish offseason. Add a upside bullpen arm on the cheap (Yates for 1/$6M?) and someone to compete against Cease & Kopech for the 5th spot (Archer for 1/$5M?) and go to war.

They’re not even close in terms of value. Just for reference, Fangraphs has Marquez as the 22nd most valuable player in baseball, while Clevinger isn’t even an honorable mention. Having four years of team control is worth a ton.

Not sure how I’d feel about a Darvish trade. Obviously the dude was amazing last year, but you’re paying $59M for his age 34 to 36 seasons. Don’t get me wrong, I’d definitely be interested in acquiring, just worried about the price and the potential for a sudden fall-off or injury.
