  1. 100% agree. It’s absolute insanity that anyone would react negatively to that clip. Like you should feel like a total fucking loser if that clip got a rise out of you because it was nothing but typical Hahn lawyer speak. He literally does this in EVERY interview to avoid actually saying anything.
  2. Lol dude...the Cubs have no money and are not a threat no matter how much you refuse to accept that.
  3. Which isn’t why the Pederson deal blew up, but keep on throwing out this dumb angle!!
  4. If said information changes the valuation, of course he would. I have worked on deals that looked liked no brainers for my company and then one piece of info during the diligence process blows it up. That’s exactly how deals work.
  5. I don’t understand the question. If you’re asking how the White Sox would know the Indians provided this info, I’m not sure why that matters. As soon as a potential deal is made public, a team can no longer control the flow of information at that point.
  6. And that’s a totally fair take, just trying to explain how a leak could blow up a deal.
  7. Lol...Balta you really are something. I’m going to tell you right now that the #1 fear when doing any real life business deal is word getting out. Not only because it can bring new competitors to the table, but also because it can make light of new info. When doing valuation, all it takes is one variable changing to blow up the entire calculus. Say the Indians found out about a possible Joc trade and had a scout who knew one of the players had injury or character concerns. If the Dodgers are made aware of that info, suddenly the package isn’t worth what it once was. The fact you think this is about Twitter reactions shows a compete lack of business acumen.
  8. Valuation is completely subjective and GMs over/under value players all the time. It doesn’t take a large gap in valuation to rethink a potential trade.
  9. Outside of Snell, no idea who raBBit could be referring to in terms of coveted targets. Marquez would be great, but I seriously doubt they would move him.
  10. But how is that not realistic? He’s a bounty hunter on the run doing bounty hunter type jobs? If you want to critique the narrative framework that’s fine, but Mando getting into a lot of action is the least unrealistic thing about the show.
  11. Which implies what? That he’s in capable of having second thoughts?
  12. On a show where a baby green alien can control stuff with its mind, it’s a bounty hunter getting into too much action that’s disrupting the realism for you.
  13. Not necessarily, in this case I think they realized they weren’t getting full value for Joc and decided to hold off.
  14. You play fantasy football? Think about that trade each year in your league where you go “Holy fuck had I known I would have topped that”. Basically word got out, the Dodgers heard from some other teams, and they quickly had second thoughts about the Sox’s offer.
  15. Exactly, maybe there is something unique about him that has caused him to underperform his batted ball profile, but he was the only guy to underachieve his xWOBA by more than 20 points in both 2018 & 2019. It’s hard to believe something like shifts are the reason he’s the sole guy to do that. I honestly believe there’s untapped value here.
  16. Come on man, maybe if you’re counting all the dinky trades that would be true, but his misses have been significant and without question is at a loss in aggregate.
  17. Are you suggesting acquiring Blake Snell is repeating “things that don’t work”?
  18. Yes. It would have to start with Vaughn and either Cease or Kopech. And would probably require a decent third piece too like Collins. If you’re making such a trade, you better go out and sign Ryu as well. A 1-2-3 of Snell, Giolito, & Ryu would be sick as fuck with Lopez and a cheap veteran holding down the 4 & 5 spots until Kopech is ready (if Cease is the one dealt). They’d really be going all in on a four year window though.
  19. While Snell would be amazing, trading with the Rays sounds like a disaster in the making.
  20. Oh fuck, been on the road and just saw this. These guys aren’t fucking around it appears. I just hope if they’re going after a big starter this was always part of the plan and not a reaction to missing out on Wheeler.
  21. Ozuna was a top 25 hitter in all of baseball last year based on xWOBA. I know people don’t think he’s that good of a hitter based on his OPS / wRC+ the last two years, but I personally put a ton of faith in the Statcast metrics and think he’s a guy who blow up next year.
  22. The problem is that you have a vastly different view of Ozuna than most of us here do. The majority of us see a 3 win OF, seems like you see something far less or one that will quickly become far less in due time.
  23. Because the dude is a self-centered douchbag who also isn’t that good at baseball to overcome the clubhouse concerns.
