This is basically the preseason for most of our starters.

If you actually think the first half is proof of anything, then I have no doubt you want him to fail. Also, I’ve seen you accuse people in White Sox threads of them wanting to see players fail, so you tell me why.

Maybe I was wrong on Mitch being the consensus top guy, but he was more or less the favorite with Watson. Mahomes was a clear #3 by experts and that’s the point I was arguing.

No, this half simply confirms you dislike Trubisky and want to see him fail. The first half of tonight’s game is absolutely meaningless in terms of evaluating Mitch’s progress.

I can respect that YOU wanted Watson, but most experts didn’t want him or Mahomes over Mitch and I seriously doubt Moan4Yoan thought Mahomes was going to put up one of the greatest QB seasons in NFL history prior to the draft. His position is revisionist theory.

Excuses? The kid is raw as fuck. He only started 13 games at UNC. Whether he ends up working, he was always going to be a project. The tools are there to be a quality QB but the lack of experience is beyond apparent. He’s without question someone who would have benefited from preseason reps.

They were laughed at for what they gave up to move up one spot, not for the player they selected. And the vast majority of NFL draft experts had Trubisky as the highest rated QB prospect in that draft and most had Mahomes third behind Watson. It is 100% revisionist theory to say we should have taken Mahomes.

He may be awful, but the first half of tonight’s game doesn’t confirm anything and that’s the point. If he sucks next week or the week after, by all means bring out the pitchforks, but clearly Nagy didn’t do him any favors this preseason.
