Exactly, another point is this: Even though our 4 and 5 game winning streak has been against cellar dwellers or weak NL team why would you risk blowing it with the B team substitutions? This is the best fighting chance we have had to build up some confidence,granted we got the win but you always go with your best lineup.

Just looked at Berkman´s career OBP and BA numbers, far better than Dunn. Problem is he is not having a great year by mean avg. Does this mean the rumors are bothering his production or just that the guys b4 him are not getting on base?? What would it take to land him??

Gilmore was not projected to be a power hitter was he? HIs OBP wold be even higher if he could take walks. Anyone peg him for AA later this year??

OK we are 8-6 after 14 games with 13 left. I think we have a good shot to go 9-4 in the next 13 (or better with luck) games and finish the month with a record of 39-38 and about 6 games back. Don´t really think we´ll gain much ground on the Twinkies. I think it is a good possibility to sweep the Flubs and the Royals. And the Nats I think we take 2 of 3 and I think we can take 2 of 3 from the Braves.

Anyone think Morel could be a good candidate to come up in 2011 or even in Sep of this year? He is very good defensively but has been struggling with the bat in AAA. He is starting to make contact now. BUt he is not a power hitter or OBP machine. My thinking has him as a dependable 3rd baseman with minor pop and maybe a .250-.260 AVG.

Remenowsky should be ready for AA in the 2nd half. Thoughts??

Greg, I posed this similar type of question regarding attitude in the June Feasting thread I originated. Look as an example at the Twinkies. They really don't have any real All Star players apart from Morneau and Mauer. Their starting 5 pitching rotation is ok at best but they come to play every game and execute. It could be that but it makes for a really good debate.

I know we are only 10 weeks into the season but apart from Paulie, Rios has got to get kudos as the team MVP so far. :headbang
