OK, honest question here. If he had worked out rigorously every off season lifting weights to increase his arm strength would that have helped keep his velocity in the high 80´s? -

Hawk is hilarious today, keeps saying we got them right where we want them. Just like all year with the Tribe!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, too funny!! -

Caul, couldn´t the same be said for Gavin and Peavy?? -
Yeah I agree it is risky to take a high schooler in the 1st round unless he has so much upside and out of this world potential. Bryce is basically a fast tracked H catcher who set the world on fire with his potential.

Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?

You are right TB, to lighten up the load I was looking as possible losing record scenarios if we continue to well basically tank. Don´t think we make have the worse record (O´s have it pretty much locked up) then we should have a top 5 pick. I didn´t want to look at this but hey it makes sense to build for the future now and wth the 13th this year and and a seemingly sure top 10 pick next year will go a long way to start the process to re-stocking the farm. -

Time to do a firesale and dump salary where possible and try and get some nice pieces for whatever we can sell off. This team reeks too much now. -

Before his meltdown tonight, I see Danks, Rios, and PK as our biggest chips. Gotta agree with the others though no one is gonna want Peavy with that bloated ERA. Hell even the Padres who worshipped him don't want him back now. These trades are hit and miss and early signs are that we missed big tie but jeez the whole pitching staff now is really stinkng rotten except dare I say Sweaty Freddie in the 5 spot. WTF WTF WTF WTF???? -

Yup Greg, I totally agree. I started the other thread with some optimism but it is now clearly time to take drastic action. Time for the firesale. The time to have patience is long gone. Blow it all up. Like many say this is really going to drive the attendance down. Getting constantly whipped by bottomfeeders is really, really old now. -

We absolutely blow wth RISP. That is why absolute bottomfeeders like Cleveland feast on us. Man what a year!! -

Isn't Danks capable of 92-93 on teh radar gun? Seems he is only hitting 88-90. -

If this is the venting thread are we gonna have an official "Blow it all up & firesale" thread? I ask cuz Cowley is implying blow it all, albeit not completely. -
PK just went through a mini slump and eventhough he is 34 he still has value in his decent OBP and oddly enough he plays ok defense with a decent FPCT the past couple of years. He may be attractive to the Angels, you never know.
-
This is the debate we had about PK the last couple of years when we thought his contract was starting to be a albatross with his production decling. But with Buerhle it is much more complicated because of the limited NTC and his 10/5 rights. He has pretty much said he wants to retire after this contract and the only team he could see himself pitching for is the Cardinals. Maybe if we eat some of the remaining contract it could be an option later if he continues to struggle. Dunno just throwing stuff out there.

Getting close to the point where it is pretty much a wash/lost season. Although the Twins lost the SP continues to be terrible. I really had some optimism at the beginning of thsi thread but that is starting to fizzle. I am not even sure if KW would consider a partial or complete firesale just to clear salary to get payroll down to what the expected attendance numbers are going to be. Will letting Ozzie and Walker go fix anything. I'm not sure anymore. What a disaster this season has been (pretty much the same as last year).

What do we do???
-
If we lose this series then it is gonna be really tough to ignore the handwriting on the wall. Hard to fix dysfunctional.

We really don't want to win this game do we?? -
It´s my hope we feast on the Flubs, Nationals, and Pirates for a 9-3 record in those 12 games. GO SOX! GO HAWKS, 2 down, 2 to go!!!

This Good Sir, is hilarious.

I am gonna be cautiously optimistic and say anything that gets us to .500 or a couple of games above close to near the end of the month is doing real good considering our offense has been asleep pretty much of the season.
