I see ur point but I am optimistic and hopefully the batters below the Mendoza line will ake up enough to get some clutch hits in the right situations. Not expecting anything and I admit .500 for the month might be more realistic but hey we have to have hope.
-
Flav, I agree but I think the more immediate objective is to get to .500. Then you build on that momentum.

OK, here is the upcoming schedule for June. It starts with a nice 9 game homestand and then on the road to NL teams 1 June - Texas 2 June - Texas 3 June - Texas 4 June - Cleveland 5 June - Cleveland 6 June - Clelveland 8 June - Detroit 9 June - Detroit 10 June - Detroit 11 June - @ CUBS 12 June - @ CUBS 13 June - @ CUBS 15 June - @ Pirates 16 June - @ Pirates 17 June - @ Pirates 18 June - @ Nationals 19 June - @ Nationals 20 June - @ Nationals 22 June - Braves 23 June - Braves 24 June - Braves 25 June - CUBS 26 June - CUBS 27 June - CUBS 28 June - @ KC 29 June - @ KC 30 June - @ KC The way I see it anything can and might happen and it is long overdue to be our turn to get a break and get the bats to start waking up. If we can get 2 quality starts in each series and turn them into victories then we have 8 of the 9 series we can potentially win. Of couse this is all speculation but we should be able to feast on the NL (Flubbies included) to the tune of a 11-4 or at least 10-5 record in those 15 games. That is certainly enough to at least get us to the .500 mark. It is a long shot shot but as noted I only see the Rangers series as the difficult one because eventhough the Tribe has owned us that isn´t going to be forever and we always play the Tigers and Royals well. OK Flame Away..

Is it too early in the season for Peavy to have Dead Arm?? -

This pitching analyst thinks Pwavy is going tohave long term arm/elbow problems. http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/Baseba.../JakePeavy.html The problem is that Jake Peavy has a significant Inverted V in his arm action. This hurts his timing and is one cause of his elbow problems. It will also set him up for Rotator Cuff and Labrum problems in a few years. -

I think I read somehwere or saw that his arm motion and mehanics would eventually cause him injury, but that was to the elbow. -

Amen to that. Rios can´t be the only one carryling the load. -

Looks like the wheels may fall off now. At least the Hawks are giving us something to cheer about. -

Only positive note is that Rios continues to rake. Is he on the All Star ballot, does anyone know? -

Whoa man, here we go again. The ship is teetering again. Had a good lead and now it is falling apart. Seen this way too often. -
With Rios WAR & UZR and his decent offensive output to date his 9.7 million dollar contract is not so bad for 2010. Even 12-12.12.5 million until 2014 may not be a bad deal.

Does anyone else think that Jenks also has a bit of an attitude issue. After all didn't he question the recent attempt to remove him from closer duties for a couple of save opportunities?
-
This is a huge problem with Jenks status now. If you DFA him at the end of the season you get nothing back right? And hs trade value isn't very good right now. Maybe you get a B prospect.

I just pondered that dude, if he might start wanting to go back to the NL. Dunno just sayin... -
Way too early to call him a bust, but with Rios dong so well this year you figure he will be our CF barring something seriously changing so do you try and package Dank2 in a trade if the team gets to a point when even Danks1 is fair game in a firesale?
-
Rios having a great year. Hope he gets some votes for the All Star game.
-
Well he has been brutal in the field again. Not sure how you could play him with no value on defense and him having a flukey season.

If Jenks survices this year we gotta try and trade or get somethig for him. He just make me nervous everytime he goes out there. Granted the error was not his fault but never a 1-2-3 inning with him. I hope they think about giving Santos a try at closer later in the year. -

You reckon Rios would have more RBI if he had more RISP opportunties? Or has he wasted a few? -

Was just gonna ask that. Gameday showed that pitch up and in. Did he turn on it quickly? It seems he really came around on it awful quick. -

Yup, was just gonn say that. The offense better get him at least 2-3 runs, otherwise he drops to 3-4 and I wonder if he is already thinkin about greener pastures.
