Who on the farm or waiting in the wings would replace Getz? -

I hear ya but like the multitude I can't see anyone loyal to this org advocating trading one of the cornerstones of our franchise's future, mainly Gordo. But starting with Flowers/Huddie is a serious package I would say. -

On a serious note Kenny, I believe that order of the lineup has a lot of pop and OBP. But it is gonna take a huge haul and part of me wants to see how our prospects develop. Can Agon be the final piece to get us into serious contention? Who knows? Not just win that easy division but World Series. -

OK, here is my 2 cents and I have not posted in a while. What about offering the Padres a package of cheap talent headed by Hudson/Viciedo and their choice of maybe 3 other AA/AAA prospects to table a discussion for AGon? I know this is not reality but just say they are so hard up to dump his salary and completely retool the franchise. I really don´t want to touch our startin 4 as we have given them 4 good pitchers already for Peavy. Which brings me to my last point. Could Peavy and Linebrink sell Chicago to Agon? Awright flame away!!!!! He would definitely solve our lefty power bat with high OBP. -
Becks looks to be gettin on another hot streak baby, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if he can crack .320 with some luck. HE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Becks Fín rocks baby!! He Fín rocks!!

I think it would be best to let him finish the year in AAA and then depending on his stats you can do a September call up. If the season finishes in the first week of Sep he could possibly get 3-4 starts with the Sox.

Yeah, he looked a little tired but in last´s nights game he had a really good stroke and as per usual hit the ball to all fields. He has such a natural opposite field swing. Is he the type of hitter that is just a pure hitter? Any experts on the board agree that Beckham is just a natural contact hitter but who has the uncanny added ability to put the ball in play in the exact location as the situation requires? I see him do this often to the opposite field and just marvel as he is doing this as a rookie. Taking walks, being patient and oh yeah playing better defense at third. But the real question is who was the last great pure contact hitter in the AL? I remember Rod Carew from the left side but I am not sure comparing Becks to him at a young age is correct. I leave that for the experts. Anyone else agree he is getting better and more comfortable at 3rd?

All, I am not gonna bad mouth last nigh's performance or get on any one player. I am over the disappointment, frustration, and roller coaster rides this team has given us this year. Having said that I am firmly believing and hoping the rebuilding (It doesn't matter what KW or Ozzie say cuz this is what I believe it is) gives a us winning ROI (Return of Investment) in 2010. I have seen guys on the team underperform, not show up mentally, and just straight out refuse to play fundamental baseball. All of this I attribute to the hybrid identity of the swing for the fences/win now formula and the insistence we have the right players to work with the small ball. My reasoning is more towards the home run mentality with streaks/flashes of small ball/fundamentals. So much lineup tinkering, guys out of position in the lineup and on the field just make me think this year is a wah and a huge experiement with mixed/mediocre results at best. If we get to the playoffs because we win the division then fine but I see it as one series and out. The true progress should start to make it's shape next year and carry into 2011. I hope I am wrong but my 2 cents. Any feedback to include me getting flamed is welcome.

Another Twitter source: Rios traded to White Sox, I mean. Nothing in return. "This allows us to get out from under a contract and do more to address our club" - JP. -

What do everyone think of Rios' spray chart during his career at the Cell? Does it make any difference? -

But I do see the necessity of having a balanced lineup with at least one left handed thumper or power bat if Thome's back acts up. It would really seem our 2010 lineup and above will be excessively right handed. -

Does anyone think Slayer will develop a power stroke next year or beyond? In the super thread there are predictions of 25-30 HR's a year. -

OK fellas, here you go. Pretty good stats. Even balance of Ground Balls, Fly outs, singles, doubles, and some HR's. Obviously he does not have as many at bats but all in all pretty good. Any opinions? AlexRioscareerCell.bmp -

Wouldn't Rios thrive at the Cell and the short porch in left field as a right handed batter? I could do a spray chart of his hits at theCell if anyone wants. -
He has hit 3 HR's and RBI's in his last 10 games and is hitting the ball better. I read somwhere an assesment of his backstop skills but can't remember where. Does anyone know how good of a catcher he is projected to be? Is he a project like Flowers?

Does Homberg have any upside? If so what is his project AA/AAA timeframe? 2012?

I was gonna say, JPN is the man in AA land!! :-)

Kenny, quick question on this. I think you might know. Huddie signed in 2008 and this is his first full year in MILB. But those 3 months of service time count (2008) towards his 6 year contract right? Here is my question: 1. 2008 - 3 months service time MILB 2. 2009 - 1 full year service time MILB 3. 2010 - Projected 1 full year service time MLB 4. 2011 - Projected 1 full year service time MLB 5. 2012 - Projected 1 full year service time MLB 6. 2013 - Projected 1 full year service time MLB 7. 2014 - ??? ** All his MLB year are just hypothetical ** Which years from 2012-2014 are arb years and which are really under control and what the Sox pay him according to the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) which classifies him as a non Free Agent until after the 2014 season? Since he signed the contract in July/Aug of 2008 does it run exactly 6 years to the date into the same month in 2014 or until the end of the 2014 season? See this is the confusing part as many draft players sign between the draft at the end of June and before the signing deadling of Aug 17th which is still before the end of the MLB season. Players generally sign 6 year initial contracts as prospects out of the draft is what I understand.

Stan, wish one is granted. :-) :-) Huddy on his way up to Charlotte.

OK corrected!!

Just think fellas. If this keeps developing the rotation would be in 2010: 1. Peavy - RHP (Ace & Cy Young) 2. Buerhle - LHP (Ace and No hitter/Perfect game/WS) 3. Floyd - RHP (Semi Ace material) 4. Danks - LHP (Semi Ace material) 5. Hudson - RHP (Semi Ace material with a ton of upside) This rotation is stacked at least until 2011 (Who knows if we can convince Buerhle to extend and buy out the remaining arb years on Danks). We could have this rotation literally until 2013. The ACE/Semi ACE classifications are interchangable based on what each forum member thinks.
