  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 10:46 PM) I honestly thought he was pretty mediocre tonight again. It's easy to cherry pick, but there was a lot of trouble in the first few innings, and even the outs were hit hard(Morneau flyout to the track, Span JUST missing a bomb down the line). Solid W, just don't feel any better about Floyd right now. I kinda felt the same way. Also, it seemed like a pretty generous strike zone for both sides tonight. That said, he did have his moments.
  3. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) I'd like to see Tank moved up in the lineup. Agreed
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 10:07 PM) GO YOU WHITE SOX!!! I don't care how bad people think this team will do, its Opening Day tomorrow and I'm psyched. I don't post often, but this is my thought exactly, LET'S DO IT SOX!
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:00 AM) I agree. The people that act like the White Sox are the most inept organization in baseball really get on my nerves. It's one of the 10 most successful organizations over the past 20 years but some people on this site make it seem like were the f***ing Pirates or something. I'm not blind to some mistakes obviously(Pierre, Edwin, Swisher), but I don't dwell on every single mistake and still cheer for every player on the team, every night. I'm mostly a spectator on this site, and I appreciate all the information I get, but I get sick of seeing nothing but negativity, and I agree 100% with this post.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 11:24 PM) When you have a WHIP higher than your ERA. You are either doing something really good, really bad, or a combination. His statline is an enigma. It can be done. See David Robertson, getting the job done for the yankees this year. G GS W L SV BS HLD CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA 32 0 1 0 0 2 13 0 0 29.1 21 5 4 0 20 47 1.23 1.40 .193
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 03:09 AM) I'd like to see this: Alexei Lillibridge (whether he plays CF or 2B) CQ PK Dunn Rios AJ Morel Beckham Like I said, Lillibridge should hit second for the time being and rotate between CF and 2B. I think he could handle that. This certainly isn't a perfect scenario. But honestly, is there one with this lineup? So many guys are producing at a below replacement level offensively that even the most advanced baseball mind couldn't come up with an ideal lineup. I like it, but here's what i want: Lillibridge LF Ramirez SS Paulie 1B Dunn DH CQ RF Viciedo 3B (at this point I don't care if he's a butcher at 3B) Rios CF AJ C Beckham 2B
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2011 -> 02:22 AM) Problem is Beckham and Rios are just as bad as JP. I don't want to see either getting the most PAs. Alexei is probably the best option to leadoff at this point. Fantastic. Make it Alexei, bottom line, bring him up.
  9. OK, enough already, bring up Viciedo. Beckham could lead off, or Alexei, or Rios. This is getting ridiculous, they pay the guy millions of dollars, and he does exactly what they ask of him. Bring him up to the big show and inject some life into this team. What's the worst thing that can happen? If it's all in, for god's sake, bring this guy up. Do it right now!! So frustrating.
  10. I've been one of the biggest Ozzie supporters, but it's so glaringly obvious that Lillibridge just brings more to the table right now than Pierre could dream of at this point With Rios coming around, and you have to believe that Dunn's not gonna suck all year. Put Lillibridge in LF every day and let's have a dangerous leadoff hitter, but it probably isn't gonna happen
  11. its hilarious b****in about KW trading away Gio a half decade ago when he'd be our 7th pitcher right now. OK 6th with peavy hurt.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ May 12, 2011 -> 03:35 AM) I just saw the highlights. How in the world can Ozzie continue to have Pierre starting? He can't hit. He has been poor in base running, and he continually makes poor plays with his glove. I wouldn't mind it at all if lillibridge got a shot at starting LF. He's been outstanding this year.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 12, 2011 -> 02:25 AM) Peavy averaged 91.35 on his Four seamer, 90.5 on his two seamer. Fastest he got on any pitch was 93.3. I have to say that I'm impressed. He had good control, too. It's good that we have 6 starters who can give us a chance to win every game. Hopefully, Peavy keeps on progressing and he can average 92-93 on the fastball like he used to. He also had a lot of emotion out there. At first on his errant throw where that lil' grinder for the angels was running toward first on the grass (and was called out for it). Maybe I'm making too much out of it, but I loved how pissed off Jake was when they pulled him from the game due to pitch count. Probably not, but maybe he lit a fire under this team's collective behind.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 12, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) That wild pitch on the intentional walk was hilarious. I have never seen that before on an intentional walk in a Sox game. Lot of heroes has to help team morale. Omar: Big hit and sac fly. Thornton: A save. AJ: 4 hits. Dunn: 4 hits including a bomb. Paulie: Defense. Teahen: Defense with nice scoop by Paulie. Thank you Angels for pissing it away as well, but we've pissed away so many it was good to get one given back to Sox. Paulie's play at the end ... wow. Well said, I'd like to add a couple: Serge: it's easy to omit him because he did what he's been doing all year. Lillibridge: didn't end up needing it, but his Sac Fly was enormous, especially knowing that Santos couldn't come out to close the game.
  15. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) They were just comparing the two on ESPNews and the anchors said "it was in the ballpark". I tend to agree but it won't get the shelf life or public acclaim. Many will never see it (as the play happened on the west coast) plus you are missing the hype of opening day. The more I watch it, the more impressive it looks. It's also a great play by Thornton, but I will stand by my statement. It is funny to see sportscenter flash up the other "top play nominees" for the night. Paulie's play is a no-brainer as far as that's concerned
  16. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) What an unreal play by PK!!! Great play, no doubt about it. Also a very unusual play which could help, but I don't think this is play of the year material. Just think about Buehrle's play last year. This play is nowhere near it IMO
  17. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ May 12, 2011 -> 12:25 AM) TWO Series in a row! That was a VERY fun win. Jake back! Come back! Paully behind the back!! The Sox are BACK! Awesome win, after the sox kept pissin away opportunities early, and the angels capitalized on everything, to see that intentional walk wild pitch was unbelievable/awesome. It's a shame many probably missed this, and the Sox need to build on this.
  18. Let's fire Ozzie and let's fire KW. I'm so sick and tired of this talk. Ozzie's a great manager (yes, he makes mistakes, who doesn't) the players want to play for him. Kenny Williams has made some great moves, i'm so tired of everybody talkin smack about KW's moves. He's doing everything he can to make the white sox a winner, and that's what they're gonna do. Let's go Sox :gosoxretro:
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) This is why AJ rules. I agree, and I wonder how many catchers would have done this. My guess is not very many. The fact that AJ did these means that the Sox don't have to plunk Lopez and risk an ejection, not to mention a free pass. That being said, I wouldn't mind it if they did it anyway.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) FWIW, here is Dave Cameron's take on it. It's interesting and I think I tend to agree. Would I take Pujols plus some scrub for Rios and Dunn? For the duration of their contracts, absolutely I would. I wouldn't want Pujols for 4-6 years beyond that though, and that's the predicament that some team will almost certainly have to face 5 years down the road. I'd take Dunn/Rios over Pujols/scrub any day, and I'm so glad that KW doesn't base everything he does over sabermetric stats.
  21. I'm sick of all these threads talking about possible replacements for Konerko. I understand that there's a very good chance he's gone. I know that the Sox are strapped for cash. I also gotta believe that Konerko would like to stick around. The talks about Victor Martinez are particularly frustrating. That's fantastic that he's a switch hitter, but you know what? he can switch hit all he wants, but he still is not as good of a hitter as Konerko is. Please re-sign Paulie.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) That's funny they posed with the Cup tonight with a game left in the series. What did the above quote mean? I am slow and can't understand the meaning. Great win. Freddy ... nice job again. Only four hits and we win. That's always nice. Good bullpen work again. Great bullpen work again actually. Still can't get over winning with four hits. So nice. I didn't get the game here in KC. Sucked. Paulie is so clutch it's scary. Great year and career. the dude out of the bullpen (ironically i don't remember his name) threw a fastball letter high right by Konerko. Mark Grace made a cocky comment about how the youngster challenged Konerko and beat him. The next pitch was a carbon copy, and Paulie sent it into the stands.
  23. I loved Grace's comment after Paulie swung through a fastball for strike 2, "what's my name?". Paulie's reply, I don't give a F*** what your name is, good bye.
  24. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 01:14 AM) If this is I love Ozzie thread then: I love Ozzie for pinch hitting Juan Pierre today. Agreed, but the love won't last long if some Cub in the middle of the lineup doesn't wear a fastball early on the next meeting.
