  1. (Maybe) The Most Improved Hitter in Baseball Great FanGraphs article on what Matty has done thus far.
  2. Good post. I actually likened him to Nola a few pages back. Their numbers are actually shockingly similar in college. Especially the Junior year. I get it. I wouldn't hate it, I just wouldn't be all that excited.
  3. Unsure, but it sounds like his MRI information will be shared with Detroit and possibly the teams picking at the top as seen in the Fangraphs mock blurb. As of right now, it truly doesn't sound like a big concern based off all the information being put out by BA/MLB/FG. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-mlb-mock-draft-v-2-0/
  4. I mean, it's just general medical concerns. There isn't any major buzz at the moment that something is wrong from what I know. See below for a part of the BA Mize Top 500 Scouting report.
  5. I've watched Singer for maybe 6 starts this year. He's fine, but just not that exciting? Solid across the board with a weird delivery and arm slot. He just doesn't blow me away. He doesn't have that wow factor like McClanahan's velocity, or Mize's dumb splitter. I understand the rationale for considering him, I just can't get too excited about it.
  6. Oops we have two threads. Combine?
  7. Luis Gonzalez with HR number 6 this morning. Battenfield cruising with 1 H and 5 SO through 3.
  8. Early start for Kanny. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?sid=milb&org=145&ymd=20180515 KAN: Battenfield W-S: Lambert BHAM: Guerrero CHA: Covey
  9. While I hope the White Sox take advantage of the copious amount of prep talent available with the 2nd round pick and on, I can't shake the feeling that Griffin Roberts is their guy at 46. This just screams White Sox to me. Oh, he's also conveniently ranked 46 on BA's top 500.
  10. Interesting that they have Hankins in the competitive balance round at 42. Also, another Alek Thomas link to Cleveland at 29. That one has been very consistent in mocks across different publications.
  11. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2018-mlb-mock-draft-v-2-0/ Bummer that they don't have any 2nd pick intel like some of the other teams. Also no mention of India in the White Sox blurb.
  12. Still being no hit in Birmingham.
  13. Canning is legit. No hitter through 4, with 8Ks.
  14. Canning carving up BHAM.
  15. For those looking for something to watch with the Sox off, Georgia Tech faces Virginia on WatchESPN. Joey Bart is in the mix at the top of the draft as we know. Also, potential first/second rounder Jake McCarthy finally returns from being out since March 6th with a wrist injury. Snippet below. BA has him ranked 33rd.
  16. Indeed. I think it's more accurate that he can touch 95. He sits more in the 92-93 range from what I've seen.
  17. Only BHAM and Kanny on the slate. CHA and W-S are off. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?sid=milb&org=145&ymd=20180514 BHAM: Brennan KAN: Henzman Birmingham hitters facing a tough one in Griffin Canning tonight.
  18. Micker with 2 BBs today. So encouraging to see that this season.
  19. Gio 32 walks to 24 strikeouts this season. Eek
  20. Another 2B. Locked in.
  21. Lucas's velocity had been down with the Nats even before the White Sox acquired him. He was touching mid 90s at best with them.
  22. LuGon added a 2B. Wish there was a spot for him in W-S.
