  1. I'm still on the position player train entirely, but don't think his strikeout rate is that concerning. 9.41 SO/9 isn't low. He's no Mize, but few are.
  2. It certainly might not change much but if San Fran jumps on Mize, it would mean that one of Bart/Bohm could be available at 4. I wonder how the Sox would view those players in comparison to Madrigal and Singer.
  3. I'm still hoping for Madrigal, but feel like Singer (meh) is the choice at this point. Nothing more I'd like to see then Detroit blowing everything up by taking Kelenic number 1.
  4. I thought he did name drop Swaggerty in the podcast.
  5. Singled and is hitting .340 now.
  6. Curious what his velocity has been.
  7. Starting to wonder if Josh Stowers is high on a White Sox draft list somewhere. He's been on a tear lately, and checks off some White Sox boxes. From Chicago. Mount Carmel high school. Plays at Louisville which the Sox frequently draft from. Patient approach. More walks then strikeouts. Speedy, 33 SB's this year. Chance to stick in CF with solid tools across the board. Current slash line of .343/.471/.564.
  8. Yea. Singer is pretty divisive across publications. 13th on Fangraphs' list, 4th on Baseball America's, 2nd on MLB Pipeline's. Law not sure, since I'm not an Insider. But I'm well aware that he thinks he's a reliever, so I'm guessing 20 to 30ish.
  9. Yea. Mize and Madrigal are the only 2 players in the class they have a 55 FV on.
  10. I love it. Also for the folks that are obsessed with lists, it contains where they would rank in a top 100 MILB prospect list at the moment. See below.
  11. How'd I miss this? Thanks!
  12. I really like both Madrigal and Larnach. I was hoping he'd be around for pick number 2, but sounds like he's a late 1st rounder at worst.
  13. I imagine they are dinging Bohm on the defensive side.
  14. Biggest jumps in the top 50ish that I see. - Noah Naylor to 20 from 34. - JT Ginn to 39 from 46. - Nico Hoerner to 42 from 65. - Seth Beer to 46 from 57. - Tristan Pompey to 51 from 33.
  15. BA Top 500 updated with some movement, and scouting reports on everyone. Believe it's pay-wall, but if anyone wants something shared I'd be happy to oblige. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2018-top-500-mlb-draft-prospects/
  16. After Basabe struck out in first AB.
  17. LuGon another HR. Number 8. Zzzz.
  18. Madrigal and Singer are very much arguable as the BPAs where the Sox are picking. Not sure where you are getting the sentiment that the top of the draft is prep heavy other than maybe Liberatore.
  19. I do not disagree. But Mize and Singer certainly will be fast movers if their parent clubs want them to be.
  20. Wah
  21. Haha. Who else are we missing to nitpick? We need to find some random article or youtube video on why Jarred Kelenic would be a bad choice next.
  22. I'm not worried about that. Could always spin that into a positive as well. Aside from the competitiveness piece that's where any comparison to Fulmer ends with me. They are very different pitchers. Carson was always an effectively wild pitcher. Averaged about 4 BB/9 in college. Singer is down to 1.84 BB/9 this year. Myself and a few others have brought it up, and even Callis/Mayo have used it, but he's so much like Aaron Nola. I wouldn't mind one of those in my major league rotation.
  23. Time for my weekly talk myself into Singer exercise. Tons of movement on the fastball. The slider can be filthy. Knows how to pitch. Doesn't walk anyone. Is going to move fast. Could conceivably be pitching in a major league rotation next season at the earliest. Also, if most of the pitching prospects work out (Kopech, Cease, Hansen), you are going to have some very nice depth. Or the ability to flip some of these guys to address other areas of need on the diamond. Okay I feel better now.
  24. HR, BB, 2B for Gonzalez. Yawn.
