This weekend I was wandering thru a list of games that I had no interest in, and I came across Alex Call in a game for the Nats. I looked him up, and he can actually hit. If anyone is wondering, we got Alonso for him 7 years ago.
Face it, Montgomery and Ramos, both of whom had long standing high prospect status, blew it this month. Both could have been starting in Chicago if they could hit a little bit. They're not even prospects any more.
I can't remember how much Sox paid him for his first contract as an international Free Agent. Was it something like $20 Million plus a big penalty for overpayment? I believe the two most expensive Internation Free Agents were Robert and Moncada.
