  1. A fly ball was hit right at him {Fletcher}, and he fell down. Official scored called it a triple. Worse than Judge in the WS. Another time he went back for a fly ball to deep center, and he somehow pushed the ball over the wall. Official Scored called it a home run.
  2. Fletcher made a couple of nice plays in Right Field, and he made a couple of horrible plays in Center. Neither one of them showed any promise as a hitter. Vargas was days from a trip to minors when Getz came along and rescued him. Neither one would make any other team in MLB.
  3. I bet Fajardo was well scouted by Boston, and they know as much as our guys know about this young pitcher, including the size of his signing bonus a year ago. Color me skeptical. Plus, it frees up a roster spot for Boston.
  4. I sure hope that is the case. There is no one else on the team who I would like to see play shortstop on a regular basis.
  5. A couple other pro athletes have had growth spurts late. David Robinson comes to mind.
  6. I'm trying to re-imagine the White Sox outfield without Robert in CF. ERA's will go straight up. They'll start the season with rosy-cheeked Dom Fletcher out there, and that will be a defensive disaster without any offense. Then, what is Plan B? I can only guess. Colas? Then there is Plan C. Probably an extra middle infielder who can't hit well enough to play the infield for Sox. Plan D then would be another try with Fletcher. Oops, there goes another mis-play. I know one pitcher on the 2024 Sox who won't miss him. Now we're up to Plan E. Well, we have two guys in the minors who can handle the gig defensively, Burke and Zavala. Might as well bring one of them up.
  7. Naylor will miss hitting against the White Sox.
  8. Trade difficult to assess. Montgomery needs to play a full season. Teel looks legitimate. Meidroth is valuable only if he is better than Sosa, which no none knows. Gonzalez has not shown that he belongs in MLB. Crochet, if healthy, figures to win a lot of games for Boston and prob lead the league in K's in 2025. My prediction is that the only way this trade works is if Montgomery blossoms into a legitimate starting outfielder.
  9. Is it possible he peaked before the DSL?
  10. I'm pulling for Sosa. Ever since he got hit in the nose by our catcher's toss, he has been great.
  11. Yes. His momma wears the pants in that family.
  12. Yes, they took him out after 62 or so pitches. That hurts the ability to win. You made a good point, SB.
  13. Au contraire. They lost their best pitcher, and they have Vargas for the whole year.
  14. I don't know how Lip is gonna answer that question, but whatever he says is probably similar to my thoughts.
  15. Did he do a "Bill Veeek" on TV? I remember 10 or 15 years ago a foxy lady announcer named Alonna something, who used to work for MLBN as well as gigs with Rockies and Angels, said that on National TV. She was giving a history lesson on the Wrigley Field ivy, saying that it was planted by Bill Veeek. What a dope. Both of them.
  16. That would be nice. If they had a re-draft of the 2024 first round, Smith would be pretty high on the list.
  17. How does Meidroth compare to Sosa, considering his solid final 2 months or so in 2024.
  18. Where do our 4 guys play in 2025?
