This reminds me of that time, probably in 2023, when Anderson was on first base and Abreu was playing first for Astros, and Timmy allegedly said I hate this f.....g place.
I once thought that Hriniak was not good for either Robin Ventura or Frank Thomas. I could see that style working for some light-hitting banjo hitter, but not for those two guys.
This is the second year in a row that the Sox Top International pick is a third baseman. I can't remember the name of last year's top pick. I do remember that he was immediately in the team's Top 30 Prospect list, and I also know he didn't hit very well in the DSL. I believe he got more money than Cruz.
How does Cruz compare to that guy? Is he (2024 pick) still in the organization?
I can see why another team would be interested in Combs. 7 + innings at Kanny with 13 K's last year. Two years in SEC showed a ton of strikeouts. Sox gave him $250 K to sign. I don't get it.
We signed him when he was very young, he started his career in DSL, he made it to the White Sox, he stayed in MLB for several years.....
he's probably the best player Sox ever signed who came up that way.
A fly ball was hit right at him {Fletcher}, and he fell down. Official scored called it a triple. Worse than Judge in the WS. Another time he went back for a fly ball to deep center, and he somehow pushed the ball over the wall. Official Scored called it a home run.
Fletcher made a couple of nice plays in Right Field, and he made a couple of horrible plays in Center. Neither one of them showed any promise as a hitter. Vargas was days from a trip to minors when Getz came along and rescued him. Neither one would make any other team in MLB.
I bet Fajardo was well scouted by Boston, and they know as much as our guys know about this young pitcher, including the size of his signing bonus a year ago. Color me skeptical. Plus, it frees up a roster spot for Boston.
