  1. This reminds me of that time, probably in 2023, when Anderson was on first base and Abreu was playing first for Astros, and Timmy allegedly said I hate this f.....g place.
  2. I once thought that Hriniak was not good for either Robin Ventura or Frank Thomas. I could see that style working for some light-hitting banjo hitter, but not for those two guys.
  3. Not until this minute did I look at Cruz as a Paddy guy. But he is. Probably a very bad omen.
  4. I'm sure Alonso got a qualified offer, and it was rejected.
  5. This is the second year in a row that the Sox Top International pick is a third baseman. I can't remember the name of last year's top pick. I do remember that he was immediately in the team's Top 30 Prospect list, and I also know he didn't hit very well in the DSL. I believe he got more money than Cruz. How does Cruz compare to that guy? Is he (2024 pick) still in the organization?
  6. It appears as if Sox have given up on Corey Lee.
  7. Lets see how this looks in 9 months. We gave up a guy who could very well be the best pitcher in the league.
  8. Let's hope he gets off to a better start than last year. If so, he'll be fine.
  9. Sox will likely go with a 14 man pitching staff.
  10. Correct. LA is set with Edman in Center. They don't need Robert.
  11. I can see why another team would be interested in Combs. 7 + innings at Kanny with 13 K's last year. Two years in SEC showed a ton of strikeouts. Sox gave him $250 K to sign. I don't get it.
  12. We signed him when he was very young, he started his career in DSL, he made it to the White Sox, he stayed in MLB for several years..... he's probably the best player Sox ever signed who came up that way.
  13. Yolbert might be the best player we ever got out of the DSL that we signed.
  14. Like the guy we signed last year? Can't remember his name. Third baseman from Venezuela.
  15. Schultz prob threw that many innings in High School.
  16. A fly ball was hit right at him {Fletcher}, and he fell down. Official scored called it a triple. Worse than Judge in the WS. Another time he went back for a fly ball to deep center, and he somehow pushed the ball over the wall. Official Scored called it a home run.
  17. Fletcher made a couple of nice plays in Right Field, and he made a couple of horrible plays in Center. Neither one of them showed any promise as a hitter. Vargas was days from a trip to minors when Getz came along and rescued him. Neither one would make any other team in MLB.
  18. I bet Fajardo was well scouted by Boston, and they know as much as our guys know about this young pitcher, including the size of his signing bonus a year ago. Color me skeptical. Plus, it frees up a roster spot for Boston.
  19. I sure hope that is the case. There is no one else on the team who I would like to see play shortstop on a regular basis.
  20. A couple other pro athletes have had growth spurts late. David Robinson comes to mind.
