  1. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 15, 2012 -> 10:45 AM) Flowers? Why would anyone want him? He'd be good in a brawl.
  2. Gotta consider it. If he goes to free agency at end of year, we should be able to get draft pick for him, lessening the prospect price we pay for him. We should be able to identify 5-10 prospects on the no touch list and go from there. I imagine that Sox brass will have an idea if Mitchell can ever make it by now.
  3. Even if we got Street, Reed would have plenty of opportunities for quality innings. I wish I knew what Street would cost us. If he would do well, we might re-sign him or get a second round compensation draft pick for him.
  4. Ubaldo got tattooed by Toronto; Indians down 10-4 in 4th inning.
  5. Well, I learned my lesson on Heidenreich; egg is on my face. Sorry I jinxed him.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 02:42 PM) Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan MLB today suspended a Phillies farmhand named Ranger Suarez for using the same steroid as Rafael Palmeiro. Suarez is 16. That'll keep Suarez out of the Hall of Fame.
  7. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 14, 2012 -> 06:48 AM) Tall, fast, great D, good at hitting singles off the bench so far. Prob a better pinch runner than Hudson.
  8. 5 hours, 23 minutes. 7 players played the whole game.
  9. This is two games in a row that Robin has mis-managed. Should not have left Jones in there, should not have Hudson in there. Last Sunday he would not take out Axelrod out.
  10. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) Why not Escobar?! Or Danks? Can't tell me he's not faster that Hudson.
  11. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) Nate not getting the K's anymore. Now I'm really interested in the price for Huston Street.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 12:36 PM) This happened at the lower levels when Buddy Bell took over. The problem is those kind of changes take years to have an effect on the major league team. Also with Ventura coming in, you are seeing the change with the major leaguers who were already here. Buddy Bell? Not so sure he gets the credit, but I would like to hear your thoughts.
  13. If Q pitches really well tonight, that will take his name off any trade list.
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) http://www.lajollalight.com/2012/07/10/la-...cago-white-sox/ I'd rather be in Santa Barbara.
  15. I don't understand having Chris Beck waaay ahead of Heidenreich. Same age, one a second rounder, the other a fourth, Beck getting pretty much lit up at Great Falls, Heidenreich solid now at High A (combined 101 innings/3.38 ERA/.244 BAA/pitching against older players). Seems like Beck is annoited hhis status.
  16. QUOTE (mataipaepae @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) I'm also exited about barnum as I think he is the future at first base. You say this after 5 games with Bristol?
  17. Everyone ignores Ryan Kussmaul. Three years in the system, moving right up the ladder from Kanny to Dash to Barons. Always solid numbers, low hits per inning, lots of K's. He'll be at Charlotte next year and will prob do well. He gets people out. If Petrika or Johnson or Soptic had his numbers even at lower levels, you would have them ready for HOF indoctrination.
  18. How did Cowley compare to Marriotti? I never read much of Cowley's stuff.
  19. Was Osvaldo on the 40 man? I should have checked before the roster got updated.
  20. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) ESPN can suck it. When they're not busy fellating the BoSox or Yankees, they look at the central and only see the Tigers. Which honestly is fine with me. "Fellating"?? Does that mean what I think it does? I have never seen that one before, hope you don't sue me if I use it.
  21. QUOTE (Wedge @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 06:40 PM) Name that movie: "We came! We saw! We kicked its ass!" Ghostbusters
  22. Osvaldo was maybe the greatest player to come from Porterville Community College.
  23. Please do not trade either Reed or the New Q.
  24. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 11:25 AM) Paulie seems older cause he's been about the slowest player in baseball for going on ten years. Not the slowest Sox ever. Harold Baines, at the end of his career, ran at a grandmotherly pace.
  25. If Dunn comes to the plate late in game with men on in close game and he hits a double to left, everyone on this board would be singing his praises.
