2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
Probably nobody cares, but I was surprised to see that former Sox no field, no hit infielder Jayson Nix has surfaced with the Yankees. Geez, what's the world coming to?

GT: Texas Rangers @ Chicago White Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) Why do those two fans keep waving at the camera? Don't they realize people watching on TV hate that? Idiot fans will always wave to the camera until one of them gets pistol whipped on live TV.

2012 Minor League Catch All thread
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) For some reason, Jeremy Dowdy is being promoted to Winston-Salem. Saw his stats at Rookie League. 21 years old, don't know where we got him? Anyone know?

7/3 Games
QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Eric Grabe had an 8-game hitting streak coming into tonight's game. So far on the season batting .371 (13 hits in 35 ABs). Grabe is the draftee whose father is a member of SoxTalk. Gotta pull for him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 07:40 AM) Frank might have had 2x that many had there not been 4-5 other 1b who were loaded up on synthetic testosterone. Could youii name a few of those please? Not arguing, just interested.

Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko are All Stars!
Has any position player ever been named to the All-Star Team with a batting average lower than Dunn's?

Pierzynski Plays His 1000th Game for Sox
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 10:17 PM) I've seen 18 of 'em play. 19 here. I saw Luke Appling as a pinch hitter, still fouled off a bunch of pitches. I might have seen Tresh play, just don't have a specific memory of him. That would be 20.

Pierzynski Plays His 1000th Game for Sox
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) From 2005-onward, AJ is the face of the Sox to me after the obvious Buehrle/Konerko combination. I wouldn't mind seeing him finish his career here, although realistically that would entail an eventual backup role. Backup to whom?

Nestor Molina
And, yet, the team's web site has Molina as the Number 2, count 'em two, prospect.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 07:08 AM) Trade bait for what? Probably trade them to Angels for Trout.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) As for Thompson & Walker, I don't see either of them challenging for major league jobs before 2015 at the earliest. Honestly, if Mitchell pans out, we most likely won't even have an opening in our OF until 2016. By then Hawkins might be a serious prospect and we won't want to commit to any other young OFs until he is ready. I see both Thompson & Walker being trade bait in the not too distant future. Thompson and Walker have done nothing to indicate they will be MLB players. You are jumping the gun here.

Omogrosso gets the call-Bruney to DL
He's another Sox who went to either Indiana or Indiana State. We have a few, must hjave some scout who works the heck out of that area.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 07:39 AM) Axelrod's not going to be in the rotation longer than it'll take Phil or John to get healthy. As long as he keeps going out there and simply gives us a chance to win, that's all I'm asking for. Axelrod would be in starting rotation if he were on the Rockies' roster.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
QUOTE (SI1020 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) So many times as a kid I watched or listened to Bob Elson on the radio as the Yankees beat us just like we beat them tonight. Wins against the Yankees, especially in the Bronx are always special for me. Ditto.

Why Is Dan Johnson Still at Charlotte?
Compromise on Johnson. Bring him up in September. We should have no problem with the 40 man roster. If he keeps hitting at current clip, he'll deserve the call up and might help.

Ohman Waived
Ohman was lucky he only gave up three runs. I was surprised he came out for the 9th Robin means business.

6/26/12 GT: Sox vs Twinks
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Off topic, but if you've ever been to the Air Force Academy, it's being threatened by fire: http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/5...284876381_n.jpg It's easily one of the neatest campuses I've ever seen. Tks for that picture, Heads. Big time fires out here, all over the place. Never have seen anything like it.

Lillibridge started in CF for Boston tonight. 0 for 2, taken out for pinch hitter.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) As much as AJ plays, Flowers is better served in the minors, with some veteran defensive C as the back up. We have a couple of those guys in our system -- Gimenez at Charlotte, Espino at B'ham. Both around 30, have played all over the place and they hit a little bit. Never saw either one play, but they seem to be professional catchers right out of Bull Durham.
