  1. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 22, 2012 -> 07:53 AM) Joe Mauer only has 1 home run this year. Yikes. So did Pujois when we played Angels last week. Now he has 3.
  2. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ May 21, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) I heard that and can't fathom why he made it plural. Misspoke? I wonder if he can think of the name of one Sox player yet.
  3. Crain was dead ass lucky to get out of that inning. Castro swung at ball four, questionable strike to Soriano, and that last one to Stewart????
  4. He'll groove one to Stewatr.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 19, 2012 -> 10:08 PM) I have no idea who Terrence Marin is, but he is having a nice season out of the pen. He is another free agent, non-drafted, signing. I don't have any stats to back this up, but it sure seems as if Sox have a lot of free agent signings in the lower minors.
  7. My favorite Kerry Wood story occured right after he was drafted out of high school, but before he signed. His HS team was in the State tournament, and Kerry pitched both ends of a double header against two different teams, threw something like 230 pitches. How about that high school coach?
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ May 19, 2012 -> 06:41 PM) For the record, i don't have a problem with the military, I just don't need Fox to cram it down our throats while the game is going. Before the game, 7th inning stretch, fine, whatever. During the game, shut the f*** up Thom. That was one awful interview.
  9. Sounds like there are a lot of Sox fans at Wrigley, both yesterday and today.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) I don't think a "Bulging disk" is a career threatening injury. That's the injury both Todd Helton and Rafael Furcal had in 2008. Both had surgery.

Looks like we have two very good young 3B prospects in Ravelo and Silverio, ages 20 and 21. I hope they both get moved up this year.
  12. I wish I were Reed's agent.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 18, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Tank is probably never going to be much of a fielder, but he can throw. If Dunn is in left, the ball goes through.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 17, 2012 -> 05:24 AM) And Juan Pierre dropped another routine fly ball We should have played Juan Pierre at third base.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 16, 2012 -> 09:02 AM) Pujols had three hits last night All infield hits.

Mabee gave up his first runs at Birm'm
  17. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ May 14, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) Do you have an idea how old he is? 'Bout 26 or so, like Kenny Jr. LOL.
  18. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ May 14, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) Birmingham's Henry Mabee joins #Orioles Dylan Bundy as only 2 pro pitchers with 20+ IP this year and 0.00 ERA. I never heard of him. Is he one of our top prospects? Right behind KW2.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 14, 2012 -> 09:54 AM) I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was disagreeing with the notion that he is a better hitting prospect than anyone we currently have at AA or AAA, which, frankly, was a fairly absurd statement okay, I overstated....Given his record, which is all I have to go by, he appears to be a better hitter than any outfielder now at Birmingham.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 14, 2012 -> 07:49 AM) Shoemaker with a 5 hit day. Throw the guy into the box against some AA pitching, see what happens. He'll probably struggle and fade back, but so what. At this point, it only makes sense to give it a shot and see. I could not agree more. He's over .350 now; he has hit every year. He's probably a better hitter than any other 'prospect' in AA or AAA. Include Fukodome/Lillibridge in that collection.
  21. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 13, 2012 -> 07:48 AM) really? you're surprised? elrockin, you and marty are all the same person after all. dude listen, pods was great for what he was in 2005 - and i'll love him for that - but in 2012 he's NOT A GOOD BASEBALL PLAYER. This is what you always forget - you think back and glorify the past and ignore what matters NOW. Today. In this moment. But, he has arguably the hottest wife in MLB.
  22. Does anybody know how many players we have at extended spring training? Guys who are not yet on a team roster.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Not sure exactly where this belongs. Story about the Dodgers' drafting philosophy, specifically on Kemp, and how they've ended up with 3 African-American home-grown players in Kemp, Loney and Dee Gordon. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...lb&c_id=mlb I just heard yesterday that Dee Gordon is son of former Sox reliever Tom Flash Gordon.
