  1. This philosophy actually applied to the GM search, believe it or not.

Whatever they're mad at Colas about, that's fucking stupid.
  5. I don't envy Padres fans having to deal with Sports Guy visiting their board
  6. In his second game for the Phillies AAA team, Popeye walked 3 times, stole a base and hit a homer. The third game he got 3 hits and stole another base. Sox received: Cash
  7. Big difference is that with Robert and Moncada gone, there's a non-zero chance he's the All-Star rep if he keeps this up for even a month.
  8. When you factor in Danny Mendick's ability to throw strikes in extra innings, it begins to raise even more questions.
  9. In other news I now see the tweet you were talking about Yeah, I hadn't seen this. I just truly love the shaq meme.
  10. That first called strike to Colas. Dear lord. Stone somehow bemoans it, then says robo umps had no problems in AAA, then says he'll miss the human element of bad umps.
  11. It's a reaction image that been making the rounds for a while my man https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-owe-you-an-apology-i-wasnt-really-familiar-with-your-game
  12. Yeah, this lineup really suffers with Luis Robert in it.
  13. I mean, in that case, trainer needs to step in.
  14. Too busy shooting music videos from like, 5 years ago.
  15. A new GM might have cleared house of the training staff, but c'est la vie.
  16. Here's the way I see it: - One player has repeated soft tissue, no contact injuries: It's a them problem. - Multiple players: The training staff is s%*#

Because it reflects a philosophy that echoes the previous regime (sign old, bad players for amounts that add up due to past reputation), it fails to live up to the "help pitchers" line that Getz repeated ad nauseum ("restore the trust" as well), and it contributes to blocking Lee and possibly Quero.

Not to be pedantic, but also Stassi. You could argue that it makes the Maldonado signing better — because otherwise they'd probably be rolling with Lee + Perez/Hackenberg, but they also spent $3,260,000 too much on Maldonado and the more Lee performs, the more it shows.

Colas better not look at any rare cosmic events if he knows what's good for him.
  20. Props to Fletcher Start Lee Banish Maldonado
  21. I mean, Naylor was the harbinger of doom for the rebuild, so why not?
  22. Is this an Ankiel moment for Allen?
  23. Yeah, it plays different with Montgomery and Ramos — they need time in the minors still. The other guys? They're not as crucial to the team's future so might as well see what you got.
  24. It's gonna be funny when he's sent to AAA or they cut Max Stassi for Marty Two Hits
