Desert Dogs got gobsmacked. Saguaros scored 16 runs on 32 hits. Fortunately, no Sox prospects pitched. Burke went 1-4 and scored the only Glendale run.

The one thing giving me comfort is that Bruce Levine can't even be bothered to get player's ages correct, so he might have just heard people talking about Carlos Perez at catcher and Terrell Tatum and was like "Perez! Merrifield! A Royals connection!" Meanwhile, if this is true, Chris Getz is aiming to make the Mark Teahen trade somehow worse.

This photo lives rent free in my head. One of them would have been phenomenal, but god dammit now I'm imagining Jerry do the actual brilliant thing for an owner (build a contender) and signing not one (which would have been great) but both of these dudes. Both of their contracts would have been bargains considering how contracts have gone up (Machado's new deal notwithstanding). The flipside is that it in this magical Jerry Spends Money world, something horrible would have happened and baseball would have been deprived of two stars.

I just want you to know that AP Advanced Statistics in Baseball™ has always considered an Abreu an above average-to-exceptional hitter. Except for this season, but even by traditional stats he had a bad year. Thankfully, he's raking now.
-
According to advanced stats Jose Abreu was the most value position player on the 2022 White Sox, by a vast margin. He has 3.8 fWAR. Luis Robert had 2.1. SO TELL ME GREG, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT?
-
I understand Jose was here far longer and like I said earlier, is likely getting his number retired here. But if you want to know the difference between him and Lynn, look no further than this thread: People are hyped for Jose smashing the Twins and enjoying Lynn getting rocked.
-
Yes, but the Phillies will definitely regret his contract eventually maybe possibly!

Y'all remember when we could have hire Bochy?

Well, their first baseman will likely have his number retired in Chicago. And Correa and Keuchel are on the Twins. Keuchel may not have been a hitter for the Trashtros, but he was an All-Star that season with a 9-0 record in the first half - and he pitched way better when he had more run support that season. He benefited all the same. So yeah, Altuve and Bregman suck. But unless I'm misreading Baseball-Reference, each team has two members from that team and one has a former White Sox MVP. f*** Jim Crane as well, but if I have to start digging into why I should or shouldn't root for individual owners, Jerry might suddenly end up in a positive light.

Eder's almost got the reverse Dalquist. 3.1 IP, 7 hits, 2 ER (off 2 HR), 1 BB, 3 K Dude gave up 7 hits and the only runs were on two solo shots. Meanwhile, Burke's got 1 hit, 1 BB, 1 K, a stolen base and a run scored. Ramos has a double. Colson's struggling. 0-3 with 2 strikeouts.
-
Greg, I have a simple question for you: Do you know what the terms micro and macro are?
-
I'm pulling for the Astros at this point. Most of their cheaters are gone, and if we ding them for having guys from that championship team, the Twins have 2 of them. I know Keuchel wasn't a hitter, but he had to have known (after all, a reliever is the one that broke the scandal). Add in Abreu and the fact that the Twins are the Twins, it makes it easier.

A weird day when removing White Sox personnel leads to a defensive collapse.

It's cause Carela is gonna be a 2-way player, isn't he?

For real though, if TA is our current clubhouse cancer, Bauer would be a stage 4 glioblastoma.

I definitely see Touki being retained, with an offseason fluff piece about Bannister sending him to a pitching lab and unlocking his potential. -
Hell yeah Jacob Burke.
-
Desert Dogs are actually putting up runs this game! Burke still leading off: 1 run scored off a walk. No Ramos or Colson.
-
I dig it.

They're so close to being smart.

Do we know if all games are being streamed?
