Maximum hilarity would be KW being hired as Marlins' VP or GM.
-
Obviously following Jake Eder.

Grifol sees a rookie trying too hard and making mistakes: "I'm going to publicly rip him to establish accountability." Grifol sees a vet slacking and making mistakes: "Carry on you've earned leeway." Culture.

Reinsdorf: "We're not signing pitchers to long-term, 10-year deals." Ohtani: "I'm not pitching in 2024."

In review: Bochy, Harper, and Castellanos= bad decisions for the White Sox
-
Remember when the thought process behind not pursuing Castellanos was that he wasn't good defensively so we should avoid him. Then we played Gavin Sheets in right field.

A United Center employee snapped it during the Harper/Machado offseason. It's the UC. No no no. It was definitely Moncada's defense causing him to give up home runs in the NLDS.
-
That's cause Houston is full of NERDS THAT USE ADVANCED STATS.

Desert Dogs got gobsmacked. Saguaros scored 16 runs on 32 hits. Fortunately, no Sox prospects pitched. Burke went 1-4 and scored the only Glendale run.

The one thing giving me comfort is that Bruce Levine can't even be bothered to get player's ages correct, so he might have just heard people talking about Carlos Perez at catcher and Terrell Tatum and was like "Perez! Merrifield! A Royals connection!" Meanwhile, if this is true, Chris Getz is aiming to make the Mark Teahen trade somehow worse.

This photo lives rent free in my head. One of them would have been phenomenal, but god dammit now I'm imagining Jerry do the actual brilliant thing for an owner (build a contender) and signing not one (which would have been great) but both of these dudes. Both of their contracts would have been bargains considering how contracts have gone up (Machado's new deal notwithstanding). The flipside is that it in this magical Jerry Spends Money world, something horrible would have happened and baseball would have been deprived of two stars.

I just want you to know that AP Advanced Statistics in Baseball™ has always considered an Abreu an above average-to-exceptional hitter. Except for this season, but even by traditional stats he had a bad year. Thankfully, he's raking now.
-
According to advanced stats Jose Abreu was the most value position player on the 2022 White Sox, by a vast margin. He has 3.8 fWAR. Luis Robert had 2.1. SO TELL ME GREG, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT?
-
I understand Jose was here far longer and like I said earlier, is likely getting his number retired here. But if you want to know the difference between him and Lynn, look no further than this thread: People are hyped for Jose smashing the Twins and enjoying Lynn getting rocked.
-
Yes, but the Phillies will definitely regret his contract eventually maybe possibly!

Y'all remember when we could have hire Bochy?
