  3. To be fair, he's at Mayo Clinic, which is where I'd go to have my heart looked at, especially if it was my personal doctors. That being said, if it was bad enough that I needed to see doctors at Mayo Clinic, I'd stop doing the fucking activity that made it a concern.
  4. Jay Cuda and happy stats ... what is this?

  9. Here's the way I see it. Weird managerial decisions aside, Tony just doesn't have energy. He's at an age here this job is taking such a big fucking toll on him that his doctors have temporarily taken him away from it to run (heart?) tests. Objectively, he should just retire for health reasons, because if doctors tell a 77-year-old man that his job is causing so much stress that it's detrimental to his health, f***, just quit. Since 2020, this team has shown that it feeds off each others' energy. With Tony in there, the energy just isn't there when he's napping in the dugout or leaving pitchers in when they're gassed. Tony may have the best intentions and think he can come back, but this team is playing well cause they look like they're having fun, despite what Mark DeRosa thinks.
  10. The elephant not in the room would like a word.
  11. Wild factoids: The first James Bond book and last movie all had him serve under Queen Elizabeth Her reign coincided with roughly 30% of U.S. history Her first and last prime ministers that she worked with, Winston Churchill and Liz Truss, were born 100 years apart. She was older than sliced bread.
  12. This thread is reminding me of Jimmy Rollins, except we have Romy and Sosa knocking on the door, Mendick on the roster, Colson and Rodriguez right behind them, and Leury under contract. I'm grateful for what Andrus has done so far with the team, but there are many better ways to spend this money.
  13. The Royals have basically been playing their youth since their Toronto road trip / the trade deadline, no?
  14. Apparently, this was the secret to Craig Kimbrel pitching well.
  15. After the Yankees sweep the Twins and Royals walk-off the Guardians, the Sox and Twins are both 2 games behind Cleveland for the AL Central lead. UPDATED Current standings as of September 10: Cleveland: 71 - 65 White Sox: 71-68 Twins: 69-68 Feel free to use this thread as an ongoing standings discussion thread / pseudo-game thread for the Guardians and Twins.
