Pujols Appreciation Thread - McGwire/Sosa of 2022?
All my friends that are fans of the Cardinals didn't like the DH. They have greatly changed their minds.

That's a White Sox 5 run 9th Winner !!
I'm terrified Tony will come back and we'll immediately see inane bullshit like: SS: Andrus / Leury / Romy 2B: Harrison / Leury / Romy 3B: Moncada / Harrison / Romy RF: Sheets / Leury Then when Anderson is back: SS: Anderson / Andrus / Leury 2B: Harrison / Andrus/ Leury 3B: Moncada / Harrison / Leury RF: Leury / Sheets Romy sent down.

We're clearly that confident in the offense now.

1) I'm so glad to see Trayce Thompson thriving after he bounced around for so many years. 2) Holy s%*#, Trayce Thompson is 31-years-old now. 3) What the f*** is the Padres' catcher wearing. I get it vibes with their Miami-esque City Connect jerseys, but he's probably blinding their pitcher.

Beckham is definitely projecting "this is some bullshit, but I'll take it" vibes. I'm kinda here for it.

When will the Sox sign a great Japanese player, or at least a very good one?
I mean, if your bar is a Hall of Famer that would be baseballs all time hits leader if he came over earlier and a guy whose only plausible comparison is Babe Ruth, I don't know what you're expecting. And since you're going back to Ichiro, we can include Iguchi in this thread and be done with it. The Sox still should be more active in the Asian market and just hire @Eminor3rd, but you've got your answer.

To be fair, he's at Mayo Clinic, which is where I'd go to have my heart looked at, especially if it was my personal doctors. That being said, if it was bad enough that I needed to see doctors at Mayo Clinic, I'd stop doing the fucking activity that made it a concern.

Here's the way I see it. Weird managerial decisions aside, Tony just doesn't have energy. He's at an age here this job is taking such a big fucking toll on him that his doctors have temporarily taken him away from it to run (heart?) tests. Objectively, he should just retire for health reasons, because if doctors tell a 77-year-old man that his job is causing so much stress that it's detrimental to his health, f***, just quit. Since 2020, this team has shown that it feeds off each others' energy. With Tony in there, the energy just isn't there when he's napping in the dugout or leaving pitchers in when they're gassed. Tony may have the best intentions and think he can come back, but this team is playing well cause they look like they're having fun, despite what Mark DeRosa thinks.

Queen Elizabeth II has died
Wild factoids: The first James Bond book and last movie all had him serve under Queen Elizabeth Her reign coincided with roughly 30% of U.S. history Her first and last prime ministers that she worked with, Winston Churchill and Liz Truss, were born 100 years apart. She was older than sliced bread.

Is Elvis Andrus a possibility to play second for us in 2023?
This thread is reminding me of Jimmy Rollins, except we have Romy and Sosa knocking on the door, Mendick on the roster, Colson and Rodriguez right behind them, and Leury under contract. I'm grateful for what Andrus has done so far with the team, but there are many better ways to spend this money.

AL Central Standings Thread
The Royals have basically been playing their youth since their Toronto road trip / the trade deadline, no?
