Dallas Keuchel DFA
At least he has his pride.

When did we take the wrong turn?
Not signing Machado. It would have meant complete buy-in from Jerry, but also, subsequent moves would just naturally look different. Grandal, Keuchel, or expensive relievers are getting nixed heavily in this scenario. The team likely trades Madrigal as a prospect, since Machado-Anderson-Moncada is now your infield. TLR is revolted at the idea of managing Machado, doesn't even entertain Jerry's offer.

Really hoping he just has to use the bathroom.

Kinda tired of the revisionist history on this site as people complain
Well, if it came down to McCann or Yaz, I don't think McCann turns this team around, because something systemic is causing what was thought to be a top lineup in baseball to suffer so much. Kimbrel - was jazzed. Didn't workout, don't miss Madrigal and his now-vanished hit tool. I wish they got a more efficient use for him, but, c'est la vie. Looking back, Madrigal should have been used to solidify the OF and Tepara could have been the 8th inning guy. Conforto - of course we all wanted him, but that's because we didn't know he was a bumbling idiot behind the scenes. So, team gets a pass. Now, all that being said, unless Carlos Rodon's arm literally explodes, I will get all up on my high horse for them not doing the bare minimum in giving him a QO. Tepara and Quintana could have been had for less than Kelly and VV (and better). Big Energy is a Big Mistake at his contract.

It turns out the secret to being a Hall of Fame manager is having steroids or prime Albert Pujols.

I don't know who I'm mad at, but I think Leury.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
To just rub salt in the wound, Cesar is 0.5.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
Anyway, Josh Harrison has been worth the same fWAR (-0.2) as Madrigal. Semien (-0.4) is only slightly better than Leury (-0.5). Whole lotta suck in that sentence.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
But he's not. We can make "Caulfield's Thread About Joc Pederson" or you can just post about him in the MLB thread, but like, this thread is explicitly about former Sox players.

I could tell you why this young savage is doing fine, why the scouting reports are great, etc., and everything else you'd know if you didn't poison the FS well, but instead I'll respond appropriately.

Josh Donaldson suspended 1 game for comments toward TA
Just to give you some closure, I didn't close the previous thread and was in the process of replying to you while it was being locked, and therefore didn't see that it was closed when I hit reply. Because I'm an admin my reply went through despite the thread getting locked.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
Man, I just explained to why Donaldson's trolling was racist, because yes, words have meaning. I explained why Tim's comparison (three years ago) shouldn't really open him to trash talk from any sane player (again, note the lack of Donaldson support from Yankees players). If TA called himself "the new Frank Thomas" (who did make baseball real fun in the 90s), Donaldson wouldn't have said "hey Frank," and you and I both know that. That's because there's an enormous legacy tied to Jackie.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
It definitely was. Josh Donaldson was using the name "Jackie" to get under the skin of one of MLB's most prominent African American stars - which isn't a big list to begin with. And because people keep bringing up the 2019 article, I'm gonna bring it here so people can read the passage: So TA was talking about changing the game to make it more fun, but also more appealing to Black kids in America. And he's saying this after taking kids from the ACE program to see 42. TA knows better than most of us the weight his words carry and he damn well knows better than Josh Donaldson. Donaldson may be too stupid to know what he said was racist, but at the core of it, the only reason TA's original comments happened are because he's a Black star in today's game. Corey Seager isn't going to compare himself to Jackie, because he doesn't need to carry that legacy like TA does. If Donaldson called Seager "Jackie," that's just fucking stupid. Calling TA, who does have to carry that legacy and is trying to make the game more appealing to Black kids - we know this because of his words and actions - as a taunt, is racist because he's trying to belittle everything TA has gone through to get here and is trying to do. Plus, it's been 3 years since the damn article, so Donaldson's just being a dick.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
I hope no one here has any ancient White Sox love for Jimmy Dykes' White sox tenure as a player and manager in the '30s and '40s, because he was a racist asshole according to Minoso's autobiography / interviews.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
The only real baseball analogue for a great, old-time player whose legacy has been overshadowed by racism is Cap Anson.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
I cancelled all plans to buy Yankees tickets until they get rid of Josh Donaldson!* *Unless the Sox are playing them and I can see TA fuck with them. So basically, unchanged.

Aaron Judge Critical Of Donaldson's "Jackie" Comment
Yeah, but it's like, of course the comments on the NY Post are gonna be against Anderson in this case. Here? Still disappointed. Especially in the guy who called Anderson "soft as baby shit."

Best Starting Rotation in MLB
Both have a Cy Young winner, but the Sox are so good that their winner is their #6 starter. Obviously, point to the White Sox.
