oh my god -
Getz has a shot to get that D+ let's goooo

It also helps that it seems like Ben Johnson has seemingly been the perfect coach for him. God bless our crazy man.

I remember my friends messaging me that the Bears drafted Burden and I was confused as hell why they'd take him with DJ and Rome (and two pass catching tight ends) in house and RBs on the board. Little did I know that it's ok to have more than one really good receiver (you can have lots of weapons) and I don't need to fall in love with shiny running backs when Monangai exists.

It really can't be understated that it's Ben's Year 1 at coach and Caleb's Year 2 (first stable year). And every story makes it sound like they're football psychopaths made for one another. I think they get there. Also, I really don't want to see DJ or Kmet leave. If Poles has shown there's one thing he's genuinely good at it, it's cap management. Hopefully he can figure out how to workout some restructures that keep the offense together while giving room to rebuild the defense. Of course, the big impediments are self-inflicted (Dayo, Jarrett).

The crazy thing is that, if he improves these throws, he's basically an MVP candidate. I keep thinking about how with 2ish minutes left, Collinsworth said that the Bears would rather be where they are than the 49ers are. Even if it didn't work out, that's all because of Caleb.

Rest everyone that needs it next week. Hope Luther is ok. Spam defense in the draft, holy hell.

Billings' flag is looming large

Suddenly your letters to JR make sense. -
The flu strain going around is no joke. God damn.
-
DJ making the cheese grater hat blow up is magical.

Being in shape, playing elite defense and base stealing are all traits of hustle guys that work hard. EXCEPT for Luis Robert, for some reason.
-
Whenever Luis was hanging out with Colson in the dugout last year, he looked notably happier and more energized. Give me those vibes + Mune

Per Passan: White Sox sign Munetaka Murakami 2 years 34M

There were also plenty of people that (wrongfully) thought Ohtani was going to be bad since he didn't focus on hitting or pitching. It was unrealistic to expect him to play like an inner circle Hall of Famer, but there were doubters aplenty. -

Yeah, the KCMO voters won that deal. Sales tax goes to pay for a $3 billion stadium ($1b from Chiefs), $300 million facility and $1 billion entertainment district. Chiefs pay $7m rent. They'll pay it off in ~470ish years. -

One of my favorite articles is from Grantland and it boils down to "Mark Buehrle is so elite at defense and keeping batters on their toes that he succeeds." The Curious Case of Mark Buehrle

As a big Hall person, I'm fine with Harold because I think he just straddles the line enough that it lowers the floor a bit. There's enough shitty people in the Hall that I don't mind it get diluted. It would also allow for guys that counting stats don't necessarily love, like Buehrle or Joey Votto, to have a stronger shot.

As someone surrounded by Mets family, friends and co-workers, I want the Luis Robert Mets jersey after they failed to re-sign Quintana (who I would have gotten)
