2017 Draft prediction thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 12:28 PM) Well we previously drafted him, so that always shows interest and often seems to reconnect. He lost about a year in Missouri to an injury (not TJ), and struggled enormously to control anything. This year he was better, but I've seen nothing that projects him as more than a reliever. He would be a great relief prospect, but good arm, no control relief prospects don't seem like round 2/3 guys, especially with TJ already. The Sox have just seemed to be fans of re-drafting in the past, which is the basis for my guess.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 12:16 PM) honestly, if Trump fired Mueller what would be the recourse? Civil unrest would be huge. I could see lawsuits start flying like DC and Maryland are putting forth.

2017 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 12:11 PM) The Democratic party should not be criticized. They are doing really good right now. They 100% deserve to be criticized. Bernie deserves some of that criticism and is in no real position to try and act like only his movement can produce results.

2017 Democratic Thread
So, I see Bernie is criticizing the Democratic party again and people keep bringing up Corbyn. Has a single Bernie candidate won a contested election? Teachout didn't, Thompson didn't, Mello didn't, Quist didn't, etc. It's almost like he's the kiss of death. And he didn't get the popular vote in his election either. Meanwhile, the one that he derided in Ossoff has the best shot. Bernie is stellar for moral victories, but until he can start closing I would like to hear him stop being sanctimonious.

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 11:23 AM) The second he got drafted, he would be best defensive player in the organization To be fair, so could Kendall

Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
How to get Robles (without giving up prospects or Q) 1. Trade Robertson, Swarzak, Kahnle, Petricka, Putnam, Southpaw, Big Hurt Beer, 50% of Hawk's catchphrases and a deep dish pizza. 2. Tell Rizzo you're actually really serious. 3. No, you're not high. 4. Steal Robles.

Painful and Difficult situation
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) No, but there's no rule that says his second chance has to be in baseball on a MLB team with lots of public scrutiny and a fan base full of children. And for this reason, I absolutely would not draft him

2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 08:17 AM) Frankie Piliere mentioning Kendall with the Mets and the floor being the Dodgers. Like I said, just seems the Sox interest in Kendall is overstated due to Law's report they met. My prediction is the top 3 on their realistic board is Haseley/Bukauskas/Beck. I'm sure Callis and Baseball America have done plenty of their own reporting.

Reverse Standings Thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 10, 2017 -> 03:02 AM) By current BaseRuns, the White Sox are 9th worst. That does not account for how badly the team has played over the last 3 weeks, but this team is perfectly on track. Trade Swarzak, Robertson, Holland, Frazier, Cabrera, and possibly Shields and Quintana, and go from there. You have to imagine that it's a guarantee that the first five and Gonzalez are guaranteed to be traded as they'll all be gone anyway. Then Putnam, Petricka, Jones and Jennings could all be trade options if they return to form. Once the inevitable trades come, this team is going to crate hard.

**ComeyMania! Thread**
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 03:52 PM) You'd be kind of stupid to record. Basically anything like that is pubic record and subject to laws like archival and such. But then again Donald Trump is a special kind of stupid, soooo Donald Trump saying he'll go under oath to testify may be the dumbest possible thing he could suggest

The Buster Policy Update
Hello, For starters I'd like to thank members of the Buster for keeping engagements mostly civil. However the personal mudslinging has quite frankly become too much. You can disagree with people on this board without attempting character assassination or baiting. From now on, argue talking points, not people. Southsider and I disagree a good bit on our political views, but I'm not going to to tell him he's arguing like an out of touch fogey and he's not going to call me an ignorant millennial. Also, the Republican and Democrat threads are going to more strictly enforced on trolling. Those threads serve to provide areas for like-minded people to discuss. You can still post in the Republican thread if you're a liberal and vice versa, but if you go in with the intent to get a rise out of people, you're out of luck. To accommodate the growing number of independents on this board, an Independent thread will be made upon request. As we're a baseball forum, we'll be instituting a three strike policy. One warning, one 10 day suspension from the Buster and then finally banned from the Buster. This goes for all posters, from newbies to mods to admins

Sox claim Alen Hanson
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) Yah, nothing more exciting than a guy OPSing .692 in his 2nd trip through AA as 27 year old!! Alan Hanson is a guy everyone on here wanted a few years back in a trade. Trying to think of who it was we were looking to move at the time at Pittsburgh was rumored as interested. Peavy maybe? Glasnow, Hanson and Kingham for Peavy was the board favorite. Also, I read Alec instead of Alen and was very confused.

Brexit
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 12:38 PM) Corbyn Won Because Hope Turned the Unthinkable Into Reality I think I know a political party that could take a few lessons from that. I get what you're saying, but the whole reason I voted Hillary in the primary is that Bernie was all branding and catch phrases with no tangible offers

6/5 Game
QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 6, 2017 -> 12:43 AM) hell of a start by Giolito, I stand firmly on the take a step back from the ledge camp. Tall pitchers let alone ones that are being completely rebuilt often take time and Floyd and Halladay are recent examples of this. Giolito's last 5 starts 28IP 2.57 ERA 1.14 WHIP 8.36 K/9 Guerrero has been quietly turning it around once he got out of April. A future staff of Giolito Rodon Kopech Guerrero Hansen with Burdi, Fulmer & Lopez shutting it down out of the pen is something to dream on. You're forgetting Dunning

6/5 Game
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 10:07 PM) I think Hansen, Gio and Kopech have combined for approximately 18000000 strike outs the last week. Lopez and Fulmer need to step up their game to bring it to an even 20,000,000

6/5 Game
Ok, how many people eat crow if Giolito gets back to form?

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 5, 2017 -> 05:46 PM) Anybody who knows anything about hacking knows that the footprints of competent hackers are either undetectable or purposely left behind to deceive and leave traces with the intent of implicating someone else. Hackers who wish to implicate another group of people will use that group of peoples techniques, will perpetrate the hack during the business hours of those who they wish to frame, etc. The CIA employs this tactic regularly and has power points that lay the process out - it's public information. Note the article's third paragraph: "A U.S. intelligence officer who declined to be identified cautioned against drawing too big a conclusion from the document because a single analysis is not necessarily definitive." Seems like more unsourced conjecture fueling left wing conspiracy for a few days until the next big unsourced, conjecture-based story comes out. I thought you were a fan of The Intercept?
