  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Feel bad for Jared Mitchell's career. 2/28, 15 K's. Nearing the end. I thought he might have something left after his re-promotion last year. But at ST, he just looked defeated every time I saw him. Even when he wasn't doing baseball things, he had the look of a man who had no hope.
  2. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...eto-and-garcia/ This week I touch on where Nieto and Leury Garcia would rank as prospects, if they still had that status.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 02:52 PM) Is that the plan? Wait two years? To tie in with Cap America 3 or something? Well they plan on Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist and then a series with all 4 heroes before the next round.

Finished Daredevil. Finale was just about a perfect wrap to the season. I can't see them waiting 2 years for a second season due to the acclaim.
  5. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 01:13 PM) Thats where I think Matuella could be a fit, or DJ Stewart as I have mentioned a couple times in thread. The Sox will not draft Matuella if he wants full slot value, but if they can get a discount and roll that money into some high school kids later in the draft it could make sense. I think it will almost definitely be a college player at number 8 as they are likely to roll the dice on some high school kids in rounds four and five. The Sox not having 2nd and 3rd round picks + Matuella and Aiken's stock dropping make me think they'd be more interested, especially if Coop and Herm approved. High upside talent that can likely be signed underslot.
  6. Looking at the HoF and White Sox players, Red Faber and Ray Schalk probably deserve some appreciation. Just because the past was a long time ago doesn't mean it should be ignored.
  7. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Luke Appling was basically the consensus greatest White Sox ever before Frank Thomas. That he doesn't have a statue is criminal. I love the statutes because I think they're great aesthetics. I'd really like to see one for each retired number + Walsh, Collins and Jackson.
  8. Let's not forget Lyons. From Wikipedia. "He made a brief return to the mound in 1946, with a 2.32 ERA[4] in five games, all complete. He stopped pitching for good that season, having compiled a 260–230 record, 356 complete games, 1073 strikeouts and a 3.67 ERA. He never appeared in a postseason game, as the generally mediocre-to-poor White Sox were usually far behind the American League leaders during his career. In Lyons' 21 seasons with the Sox, they finished fifth or lower (in an eight-team league) 16 times, and never finished higher than third. New York Yankees manager Joe McCarthy said, "If he'd pitched for the Yankees, he would have won over 400 games." That last quote says a lot.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 11:10 AM) True, but he's still be behind Rodon and Erik Johnson for a rotation spot so I am not sure how he could become a factor if that's the case. And probably Chris Beck. But if the Sox can do anything to have him regain value, it's a win.
  10. It'd be interesting if they could get Drabek to AAA and have him stretched out as a starter.
  11. I see Sanchez being like Eduardo Escobar and traded mid-season for an improvement.
  12. I'm really intrigued as to the corresponding roster move.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 19, 2015 -> 12:52 PM) Hasn't Conor been wearing batting gloves all year...? He definitely was on Opening Day. I've only been able to catch bits and pieces of games, no Conor at bats.
  14. Conor wearing battling gloves now? Weird.
  15. Frank Thomas Joe Jackson Ed Walsh Paul Konerko Others in consideration for Konerko's spot: Applying, Collins, Lyons, Fox, Aparicio, Minoso. This thread is reminding me of the time that I made that All-Time White Sox roster in The Show. Fun times.
  16. And Jo is running around causing havoc like Jo. It's beautiful.
  17. Totally thought this was a night game. Damnit.
  18. I like Gordon. Here's hoping he succeeds today.
  19. Derrick drops 40 in 20 minutes. 20/20 from the FT line.
  20. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...aining-is-over/ This week features all HD content from FutureSox including at-bat videos, some interesting tidbits from the minor league fields and heavy praise for Brett Austin.
