2014 Video game thread
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Meh WOW was just EQ easy mode. And SWTOR is free right now, if anyone on this board has any interest send me a message. Im currently playing and could give you some tips. I just wish that there was 1 game that was like old eq, where s*** was actually hard and there were consequences when you f***ed up. Guild Wars was pretty mean when you died in missions. I hate how easy the new one is.

Forgotten White Sox Moments
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 10:15 PM) Here's one: Two years ago, Carl Pavano hits Paulie in the face. Despite Herm's protestations, Paulie angrily refuses to leave the game, jogging down to first while pulling away. Next time he comes up to bat, still against Pavano, he goes yard on the FIRST PITCH. Paul Konerko is a f***ing badass Forgot that. That s*** was great. Didn't it happen a second time and they made a commercial of it?

Forgotten White Sox Moments
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 10:01 PM) That was great. I remember Toby Hall trying so hard for the 5th one. Man, poor Toby. Would have been f***ing hilarious if it got around to the 9th person and they barely missed it.

2013-2014 NFL Thread
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 04:45 PM) "Man, you'd sure have egg on your face if I didn't make a dumb, bad throw!" I don't know if Sherman's going to be able to recover from that mentally by Sunday. Seriously. Where is the backlash on Kapernick? Unlike Sherman, he's not in the heat of the moment. Also unlike Sherman, numbers don't back him up.

Keith Law's top 100
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jan 30, 2014 -> 11:37 AM) This may be the single stupidest thing said by any pundit, ever. Maybe he saw him on a bad day, lol. Sale's slider is quickly headed to GOAT territory, and dominates righties as well as lefties. http://wapc.mlb.com/play?content_id=29663395 Glad he also dislikes the Dane, whereas Parks loves him. Law's still playing catchup with his ego. Sale's slider is one of the nastiest pitches I've ever seen.

So Kapernick comes off as much more of an idiot than Sherman did. Much, much more.

So call me confused
Worth noting Dayan is only 24. If he was only just now getting called up, he'd be pretty age appropriate. Hopefully Steverson taps into his abilities.

If Rodon falls, you take him and sign him. Maybe offer the same thing they did with Sale (making the bigs quickly) to get him cheaper.

A complete roundup of idiotic David Price trade proposals
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 07:02 PM) I disagree, do you remember the Pirates & Cardinals trade rumor threads last season? Everyone was sure the Sox would wipe out both teams' minor league systems at the trade deadline. The Pirates system cleaning was banking on the Pirates being desperate for a RF and SS to make the playoffs for the first time in f***-ever.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) La La said he is staying in NY anyway. Thibs loves Melo even though Melo plays D like Boozer. For the Bulls to be able to offer a max contract, they will have to amnesty Boozer and dump Gibson on someone. It can be done by trading Boozer and MDJ in a S&T for Melo. Then you can keep Gibson and should actually have room to also sign Mirotic. Offering the Sacramento Pick, Bobcats Pick, and a Bulls first and second could entice the Knicks to take Boozer and whatever the Bulls get for MDJ. They have zero picks (I believe) for the next few years and if Melo is leaving they might as well get something.

2014 Draft class
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 29, 2014 -> 02:44 AM) So while looking up some stuff on Reetz, and what his pop time and everything else was, I noticed that PerfectGame lists Alex Jackson as a VERY good defensive catcher. I was under the impression that his defense at C was sub-par and he would eventually have to move to corner OF with his huge bat. According to PerfectGame, Jackson's pop time is 1.73, which is extremely good, and quite a bit better than Reetz's 1.94. Now I realize that is just 1 part of defense, but it's something I could at least quantify. If that is the case, and Jackson is actually a good defender at catcher, then here is what I think I'd like to see given these three scenarios... If Hoffman is available at #3, take Hoffman and try for Reetz with the 2nd RD pick. If Hoffman is taken by that time, take Jackson and try for someone like TCU LHP Brandon Finnegan with the 2nd RD pick. If Hoffman is taken by that time, and Jackson is not deemed a good defensive catcher, then take RHP Tyler Kolek, and try for Reetz with the 2nd RD pick. EDIT: And let me end this by of course saying we are still 4+ months away from the draft, and things can surely change. Sox get one of Hoffman/Kolek and Reetz and I will be very happy.

2014 Draft class
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) Awesome. Let us know if you hear anything about who they could be targetting in the 2nd RD, like that catcher Reetz that Quin brought up. This. I'm really intrigued by Reetz because he looks like he could BPA in their second round slot and would instantly become the orgs top catching prospect.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 28, 2014 -> 02:54 AM) What is the Ramon for? Troncoso? Shouldn't it be Earvin, haha? His birth name is Johan Ramon Santana. He changed it while in the minors to "Ervin" to avoid confusion with Johan Santana. His nickname used to be "Magic"
