QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) Has anyone noticed how little effort always goes into the back of a video game package? There's rarely any design element, just a couple screen shots and some words. It's funny how lame they look. I miss well designed cases and packages that included maps, manuals, and well designed boxes.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) Alright. I tossed Kilzone on eBay and picked up Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. I'm excited to play that tonight. The original Tomb Raider was one of the best video game experiences I ever had. I played it on my Sega Saturn, and I still remember the first time a wolf attacked me it freaked me the f*** out (I was 13). The T-Rex in the coming levels was wicked, too. Then a buddy and I got really into some of the sequels. So yeah, hopefully this game stacks up with puzzles and fright. You're not gonna be disappointed. The PS3/360 version was gorgeous in its own right and looks incredibly dated next to the DE.
  3. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that when the decision was made to put Viciedo in left it was because Rios preferred RF and had experience there or something like that. Now after Viciedo has played two full seasons in left they just don't want to make him switch again. This is essentially what happened.
  4. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 6, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) Kenny knew the Cards weren't going to trade Rasmus without getting EJax in the deal, so he held up the Jays with the demand of taking on Teahen's contract, and it worked. In that deal everyone won: Jays got the player they wanted without having to give up top pieces from the farm, Kenny dumped Teahen and picked up a quality (back then) prospect in Stewart plus Frasor who turned into Jaye & Webb, and the Cards of course won the World Series. Rarely do 3-ways benefit all 3 parties, but that one did. Peavy trade benefitted all teams as well. 3 ways with the Sox leave everyone happy!
  5. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) LOL You'd DFA Gillaspie over Dunn, Keppinger, Jordan Danks, a catcher, etc. etc. etc.? You're on a roll, too. Going....? Dunn and Keppinger cost money. You need two catchers. Jordan Danks is the perfect 4th OF for an OF of Dayan-Eaton-Avi
  6. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 10:46 PM) I guess green was in order. I think the isfa gets the money not the white sox. Ah, my bad. I just see people all the time that think Reinsdorf can freely move money between Sox and Bulls.
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) Well he may use it to sign Mello You're not quite sure how businesses work, specifically the White Sox and Bulls, are you?
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 08:26 PM) you're right. They'd probably f***ed that up as well. "The Cleveland Cavaliers have traded Kyrie Irving for 2 future first round picks and a 2nd round pick"
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 04:22 PM) Millions, because he's Michael Jordan. I'd say for the set, somewhere starting at $250M
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) MJ was in the middle of a legitimate defensive play in which the only appropriate thing to do is 1. take a charge or 2. get the f*** out of the way. Jordan did both. LBJ flops in the middle of a f***ing fight for Christ's sake. It may or may not affect whether one or the other is GOAT, but it sure as hell makes me like LBJ less +1
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 08:00 PM) So what. Yeah, it's worthless if they didn't offer the same deal to Ervin Santana.
  12. Abreu - Lives up to hype as "Best Hitter on the Planet" Semien - Sticks at 2B, has a .375 OBP Davidson - Defense improves a bit, becomes a .280 hitter with about 25 HRs Viciedo - Develops some paitence, hits 30+ bombs a year Eaton - Hits .300 with a .400 OBP with good CF defense. Garcia - High average and lots of homers Sale - Cy Young caliber player Quintana - #2 pitcher Johnson - Can be a #2 Webb - Lights out closer Jones - Closer, flipped for something else Danish - Can become an ace Zapata - Monstrous tools Hawkins - 30 HR+ potential Anderson - Speedster with good upside M. Johnson - Super speedster Beck - #3 starter I understand we're not the Cubs fan base and that the likelihood of even half of those happening is small but there's a chance that if things do click for the young guns that the Sox would be legitimate WS contenders.
  13. Considering this core wasn't on the opening day roster last year aside from Sale, Quintana, and Viciedo, I'm not going to rule it out. What if the #3 pick becomes a star? What if Danish becomes an ace out of nowhere?
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) Jason Parks just said he's got the Sox as the #19 system in baseball. Movin' on up.
  15. This is like watching a train continuously crash into itself, like some f***ed up type of snake.
  16. This thread still sucks.
  17. Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson are trying to carry Missouri hard, but those two can only do so much.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 03:29 PM) A lot of these parts in Superman/Batman could be small parts. Setting up for bigger parts down the road. Which is only going to make this a giant mess. You can do that with Hawkeye and by saying he's a SHIELD agent. Not with Wonder Woman and others.
  19. This thread is stupid now.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 31, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) The East front court sucks. In all honesty, Noah and Millsap aren't all-stars, especially when Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins didn't make the team in the West. Noah's January is all-star worthy.
  21. Man, we've had some Grade A trolls 'round these here parts.
  22. Signing Paulie was giving the fans a bone.
