  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) I remember that game. He had Beckham bunt twice, I think. He screwed up both times. Seriously, I just remember that game way too clearly. Beckham looked like '09 Beckham. Then he couldn't bunt and it all spiraled from there. Also, how the f*** do we both remember that game?
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Bulls fans (who are also Cubs fans) who think Jerry mixes revenue from the Sox with the Bulls are financially blind. Jerry's a business man. No good business man lets the revenue from two of his assets blend together THAT easily. It's not like he wakes up one day and decides that he'll spend $20 million from the Bulls' revenue on the White Sox instead. Or if the crowd at RealGM is to be believed, they hate baseball, but then see the White Sox payroll and compare it straight to the Bulls payroll. It doesn't work like that.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Really it seemed like he had gotten going, and then they moved him back to the nine slot. He's a big confidence guy. The game from 2010 I put up, well, I remember him getting two solid hits. Then we had him bunt and I remember someone (either here or media) roasting Ozzie for "taking the bat out of his better hitters hand."
  4. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CH...201004070.shtml That was the game where Beckham lost his confidence. Bottom of the 9th, we had him bunt. He royally f***ed it up, never was the same.
  5. Question: Did anyone else notice PK run with his bat down the first base line?
  6. Laurence Holmes raving about Kenny is swindling teams this year. We really did rip off the Astros and Red Sox when you think about it...
  7. Want the difference between the Bulls and White Sox? Gar Forman vs. Kenny Williams That's it.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) Jeff Passan breaks down the con that is the Miami Marlins Damn son.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) I would have rather seen that versus the other penalties. Under this format, they still get to fill their football stadium. This.
  10. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 07:26 PM) How in the hell does Oakland always wind up leading the league in pitching almost every year when they trade away their starters every off-season? I'd have to imagine their spacious foul territory helps, but jeez... That stadium.
  11. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 01:49 PM) Lots of good pieces out there. Marlins selling Cubs selling. Sox said to want Greinke. Kenny's done a great job getting the Red Sox and Astro's to eat salary. Does he continue to go that route ? There's plenty of suitor for the high end guys with better prospects and willing to eat more money. My prediction is the Sox reacquire Buerhle and hope they can get the Marlins to eat the last year of the contract, This would make the fan base pretty happy and he's had success in the AL as opposed to wondering what you might get from an NL pitcher who pitches in a pitcher friendly park. As much as the Sox are said to want Greinke I can't see the Sox getting a rental after all the moves they've made to trim salary and the trades they've made so far not to take on salary. Buehrle +Johnson or Greinke
  12. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) http://gizmodo.com/5928926/chick+fil+a-got...irl-on-facebook http://redditpics.fpapps.com/?thingid=t3_x...com%2FfmiN4.jpg
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 06:52 AM) It isnt reconsidered, it is in the works. I believe Ruffalo signed a 5-6 movie deal with Marvel. Edit: It is 6 So was Sebastian Stan (Bucky), but for Hulk it probably means solo movie.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:53 AM) That is a personal opinion that never affects how the business runs or operates, especially as it pertains to homosexuals. I just find it hilarious the double standard. "Treat people equally unless you don't believe what I believe and then it's ok for me to treat you unequally." Didn't he say God would punish those with the audacity to define marriage? Looks like it happened.
  15. Now that this thread exists, he'll light it up.
  16. Floyd for prospect. Prospect, Humber, one of the young BP arms (Jones?), Mitchell, and a low level prospect for Johnson and Buehrle. I'm 90% kidding, but I'd the Marlins took that, I'd die laughing.
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) 100 percent agree. I would not like to be stuck with that contract when the salary starts to go up significantly. I think the Marlins would trade him for a bag of balls if we would take his salary though. Which we better not. I'm alone in this, but I do this if it helps them win this year.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 09:40 AM) I think this is kinda bulls***. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/bre...,0,929023.story So they support one definition of marriage. There's been zero evidence that the store, or its employees, discriminate in anyway. Well, that's what happens when you have a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that you have the audacity to define what marriage is about.
  19. f*** the Twins and the horse they rode in on.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 10:18 AM) Why would they want to move him? They want to win and he is a valuable piece to winning. They want to move some of the bums it appears. You're joking right? Sanchez was one of their better starters for the past few years. Infante was an all-star second basemen who's having a respectable year. Hanley Ramirez could very well be their best player in franchise history (him or Beckett). And they don't value winning. Never have, never will. They value $$$.
  21. Well, if the Marlins throw in any money for those last two years, they'd save money overall. QUOTE (103 mph screwball @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 08:52 AM) I would absolutely love getting MB56 back. I get goose bumps thinking about his return to the Cell in the race to the playoffs. That 18.5 million salary would be excessive for the last 2 years of his contract, but that means the Sox should be able to get him without giving up anyone from this years team or too much damage from the farm. Unless KW can get Buehrle for like, the most insignificant prospect ever, and thinks it puts them over the top this year. Then maybe you consider that contract (overall, it's not as bad, just those last two years look terrible).
  22. Well...Sanchez, Infante, and Ramirez are gone. Think we could get in on Johnson or Buehrle? Maybe we flip Floyd for a prospect, send that prospect to Marlins for Buehrle. But they throw in cash for the last two years and we throw in a low level 'spect of our own or a BP arm (not Reed)?
