QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) The Bulls and Sox money are separate and distinct quantities with distinct and different ownership groups. ^ Biggest myth about JR is that he uses the Bulls to fund the Sox.

How the f*** did Kobe pull that s*** off?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 11:03 AM) I'm so surprised that listening to Reggie Rose over the medical professionals didn't work out for Derrick. I'm sure it will happen, but I don't want to hear Reggie Rose say a damn thing this year. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 11:03 AM) Thibs has his faults. But the guy changed the game defensively dating back to '08. Give him longer, better athletes (no boozer) and no telling what he could do. I'm hoping that accomplish that in this draft. Looks like the Bobcats might actually finish outside the Top 10 picks, so count that + pick you should get for Deng and you'll have 3 first rounders. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) Give him a team that's 8-10 deep like the Nuggets were last year and see how far he can go. Hopefully they get that in this draft + trades + Nikola. Next year could theoretically have 4 rookies, lesser Rose, and Noah. It'll be a struggle. My ideal scenario: Trade Boozer and the Bobcats pick restrictions to the Bobcats for Gordon and their pick this year. Deng for Ariza and Wizards pick. Make it a three team deal if you need filler. Trade Kirk, Dunleavy and James for second rounders. Going into offseason: PG: Rose (+), Teague SG: Butler, Snell SF : PF : Taj, Nikola C : Noah Using the three firsts that you should have (Bulls, Bobcats, and Deng pick) hope that the Bulls are bad enough to get Jabari before Utah (another Chicago miracle lottery win?), Cauley-Stein/McCary, and Gary Harris. If Jabari is gone, bring in Exum and move Jimmy to SF. Use the 2nd rounders + Deng 1st to move up to ensure Harris or Cauley-Stein. Sign Kirk in the offseason and BG if he shows anything when he is here. All falls perfectly into place and... PG: Rose (+), Hinrich, Teague SG: Butler, Harris, Gordon SF: Jabari, Snell PF: Nikola, Taj, Murphy C : Noah, Cauley-Stein (Unreasonable hope for a young, athletic and talented roster like this is the only thing keeping me from drinking right now. f*** Reggie Rose.)

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) Or just get rid of Thibs. His irresponsible minutes have led to the ruin of Noah and Deng anyway as well. Can't blame him for broken Rose, though. I'm lashing out. Ignore me. Sadly, it's not without a valid point. It's not bad enough to warrant his removal, but Thibs needs to learn 2 things: 1) Not to get so attached to players. His running players like Deng and Noah into the ground leads to them being injured 2) Use the roster he is given. This only adds to the stress on players like Deng and Noah when he refuses to play their backups.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) lol. warriors would never do that. Does suck they extended bogut, though. Noah for Barnes would at least get their attention. I said "shoulda" because the Bulls turned it down when Barnes was drafted. Because competing last year was #1 priority. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:45 AM) If the Bulls are smart and tank this could be their San Antonio Spurs 1996-1997 season that led to them getting Duncan and being able to pair Robinson and Duncan for their frontline. But sadly GarPax will probably keep the status quo and the Bulls will limp into the playoffs setting the franchise back. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:51 AM) Preach. I fear it's less GarPax and more Thibs. Only way to tank is to force Thibs to play Teague and Snell by trading Kirk, Dunleavy, Deng, and Booz.

Shoulda traded Deng for Barnes. Tank for Jabari.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 07:57 AM) No one's taking that Asik $15 million dollar hit for 2014/2015 without offloading their own stinky turd. Remember, that's why we let Omer go - $5/$5/$15. I thought it only applied to the Bulls if they had signed him themselves? Otherwise it's 8/8/8, right?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:37 PM) I hope there is another Starfox in the works. I want to dogfight some anthropomorphic animal pilots again I've been waiting for a Starfox game since the Gamecube. That would make me buy a Nintendo system.

Has Hahn waited too long to act or letting the market
Quin replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's November, dear lord. Wait until the free agency settles in a bit. Santiago will have more value after a couple more Vargas deals. -
I actually believe you could move Boozer and Hinrich for Asik and Lin. Both of the later are disgruntled and Howard likes Booz, and Booz has played well this year. Then flip Asik and Lin for more pieces if you can.

Great start here.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) Where did Jo disappear to Traded, but I could see him sticking around. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) Who is picking up Boozer's contract? The Bulls can't amnesthetize him until next summer and any team that trades for him can't use the amnesty on him next summer. Kirk and Booz to Houston for Asik and Lin. Asik is disgruntled, Boozer is playing well this year, Howard likes Booz. Kirk will let Harden do his thing. Flip Lin and Asik later. This is all dependent on how long Rose is out and what they do without him. If it looks like he'll come back AND they're playing well, then I can see them keeping the team together. If not, everyone but Butler and Jo is definitely gone, and Jo could easily be gone.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 05:17 PM) They are the Bulls, their coach is Tom Thibodeau, and the East is complete garbage. They're still winning 40-some odd games regardless. This. If you run a lineup of... Teague Snell Butler PF from trade (Taj and Booz gone) Nazr or player from trade. You aren't gonna win a damn game.

I have no idea if they should punt the season for Jabari or not.

QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 23, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) Having it buckle and feel painful to put weight on right after injury is common. There are times when the person can walk on it and maybe even lightly run, but usually the swelling at the least will make this unbearable. Painful pop/rupture, maybe a few seconds of feeling non-horrible, then an extremely sore knee that will buckle under pressure is to be expected for several weeks It's what my knee did in baseball and it was just hyperextended. I jumped and turned to catch a ball in CF, felt my right knee slip right in and out of place and heard the nastiest pop. I tried to get up but really couldn't, though I eventually was able to walk/shuffle for a small distance before I had to remove pressure from it all together. Was able to walk off...it can be possible. Just gotta hope.

I know one thing is certain... I don't want to hear one f***ing thing from Reggie f***ing Rose.

I've never been so glad to have turned 21 last month.

...damnit. If his ACL is torn, blow it up. Tank and pray you get Jabari or Exum. Sell of Deng, Noah, Booz, Dunleavy, Kirk. All of 'em. Let Snell, Butler, and Teague develop. Hell, that Murphy can play. Hope that Niko is a savior. Just... Just, this is gut wrenching. Edit: Watching it now, it looked similar to when I hyper extended my knee in HS. You need help off the court and the ligaments are very loose, but he could be back in 2-3 weeks.

QUOTE (beautox @ Nov 22, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) Its a pretty deep draft this year and as it stands now Rodon could lose some shine and someone else could get some helium and he could drop to #3. If Rondon falls to #3, you take him immediately, hope Danish and EJ become something and boom: Sale Johnson Quintana Danish Rondon That'd be a dream rotation if they all maxed out their potential.

Dear lord. We should be able to get something nice for Santiago or Q and lock the other one up.

QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 11:01 AM) I Like the trade. If he hits nobody will care. I'd say Dunn & Danks. The Brewers have to eat one year of Dunn & they get a lefty who can pitch in the NL for sure. That would give us one less lefty starter & more pitching balance. With Detroit getting rid of another Lefty bat we need more right hand starting pitchers. If we make that trade we can then sign Dan Haren for 2 years, re-sign Floyd for 2 years, & maybe sign Salty. With Braun only makes 10 mil next year, & 12 mil the following before his salary goes up to 19 mil in year 3 that would allow us to sign some more guys. Sale Haren Quintana Floyd Santigo Not bad? 1 De Aza 2 Garcia 3 Braun 4 Abreu 5 Salty 6 Vieciedo 7 Semien 8 Beckham 9 Ramirez EJ would be in the rotation.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 21, 2013 -> 12:15 AM) With all due respect, I love how people see NO possibility of Paulie bouncing back and yet they see the possibility for guys like Kepp, and Dunn still has his supporters, too. Paulie, who can still field the position very well, can still hit lefties. His power has been zapped but that may because of injury. I just don't get why people see Paulie as having zero chance of returning to Paulie form and give these other guys the benefit of the doubt. What if Paulie ISN'T finished? What if he comes out and goes 2-5 every game the first month with an occasional homer? Four homers a month is a 24 homer season. He's capable of that. I really hate that you make me point out flaws in my childhood idol and favorite player of all time. He can't field 1B well anymore. He's old, he's injured. You don't recover as well when you're old. You should just let him retire, stop beating a dead horse. I've seen few people say that Kepp can bounce back. Dunn had some great months last year and has had 0 protection in the Sox lineup. In front of Abreu he'll get more hittable pitches. He also hit over 30 HR. Dunn still has true power, but he won't have a high average.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 08:06 PM) It's harder to have a long, sustained career when you're shorter. Refer to Oswalt's yearly injuries in his 32-35 year old seasons. I'll send you off with this trivia question. How many pitchers are under 6 feet tall in the Hall of Fame that didn't pitch in the dead ball era? I'll PM you what he signs for. We are now the NBA.

WTF Rangers And I hate this. Helps Detroit a lot.

QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Nov 20, 2013 -> 02:20 PM) To the people who hate on him for cheating....Rienzo and Quintana have both failed drug tests when they were in the minors and people are still supporting them...so there's that If you read about Quintana's, he was a teenager who took something by mistake. Braun is a raging douchebag. I'd be ok with it if it were just the 'roids, but the way he acted after being caught is awful. I'd give up nothing of value for him and the Brew Crew would need to take on a large chunk of change, even then I'd never root for him, only for him to not f*** up the Sox chances.
