  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 07:27 PM) No Eaton-Elmore dynamic duo reunited? I'll be shocked if Elmore is on the roster. He has Conor, Keppginger, and Leury blocking him.
  2. CF - Eaton SS - Alexei DH - Dunn 1B - ADA RF - Avi LF - Tank 3B - Whoever is there 2B - Beckham C - Whoever is there.
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) While I have no begun to look at options for our 2nd round pick yet, I do like what you've been posting about Reetz. Even without knowing what's available, I think getting Hoffman and then Reetz would be a really great start to the draft. Those could immediately become 2 of our top 3 prospects. Yup. Hoffman can likely be in the majors fast, Kolek has nasty stuff, Turner seems like he has a high floor, and then Reetz is an athletic catcher with a cannon arm that most places indicate will easily stay behind the plate.
  4. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 04:09 PM) Only if you think Melo will sign for like $10 million, less if you want Mirotic too. Edit- A sign-and-trade is possible in theory, but it would involve the Knicks taking back a ton of salary. I have serious doubts that they'd take Boozer back, though I won't rule anything out with the way the Knicks are run. It'd be Boozer then Dunleavy (whatever you can get for him) + picks. If the Bulls offered 3 1st round picks, I think it'd be hard for the Knicks to turn down, since they've traded all of theirs.
  5. If the Knicks take a S&T of Boozer + Charlotte 1st/Sac 1st/2015 Bulls 1st and then trade Dunleavy for something, the Bulls can actually run with... Rose/Augustin/Kirk (Vet Min) Butler/Snell Melo Mirotic/Taj Noah Then with the Bulls 1st you can try and take someone like Willie Cauley-Stein to backup Noah and someone like LeBryan Nash or Jabari Brown in the 2nd. Nash would backup Melo, Brown would make Snell the primary SF backup, but would give another 3 point threat. I like Cauley-Stein because I think he can fit into Thibs defensive plan. Maybe BG can be brought in on the vet minimum as well, that'd Rose/Melo a lot of 3 point weapons while keeping the defensive big trio of Noah/Taj/Cauley-Stein.
  6. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 26, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) Even if it's a catcher? Like I said in one of these threads, give me Hoffman/Kolek over Alex Jackson and then Reetz in the 2nd. After doing some research, I like what I see out of Reetz. I'd be cool with Turner as well, but I have much more confidence in developing a pitcher. Your browser does not support iframes.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 09:29 PM) So...Kevin Durant. Terrence Ross.
  8. Apparently Ervin Santana's name was Johan, but he changed it while in the minors due to Johan's success.
  9. If the Sox got Johan and actually got some production out of him, I'd be so stupidly happy. He's the only opposing pitcher I've ever looked at each time he faced the Sox and go "and this is a loss."
  10. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 11:19 PM) There is no better time to start than right now. Plus, do you think the White sox should stop drafting position players all together because their pitches have had more success? When you draft a player you're taking a risk, plus you add in the fact that since the White Sox were opposed to taking advantage of the previous CBA and never went over slot to sign a player , so they were forced to draft players (Mostly College Seniors) that while they had higher floors and were rhetorically less risky in terms of their development their ceilings in terms of their poetential were very low. With the new CBA the Sox can finally get those high ceiling players, and maybe since they have more poetential they might develop into better players. If the best player is tied between a hitter and pitcher, Sox need to take the pitcher.
  11. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 05:57 PM) They need position players desperately. You can always trade excess pitching.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 12:18 PM) Shooting reported at Columbia Mall in Maryland. 3 people dead including the shooter based on current reports. Mall has not been fully evacuated yet. Another shooting at South Carolina State University.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) That's fine. Stick with what you know. Not sure what number pick the 2nd round pick is, but maybe that's where they take a high ceiling position player. 43rd pick, which is why I want Reetz there as he is an athletic catcher projected to go in that slot.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 12:40 AM) Wouldn't be surprised if it's Yasmani Grandal after Hedges reaches the ML. Sox supposedly loved him when he came out. Sign Odrisamer Despaigne and trade for Grandal. 5 Cubans
  15. What would you guys think of taking Jackson Reetz with our second pick if we took Kolek at #3?
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) I predict Soxtalk freaks out during his first slump. We then trade him for a struggling Tanaka.
  17. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) Let's get ALL THE CUBANS! How much would it cost to build and guard a bridge from Cuba to Chicago? 120 million dollars over 6 years.
  18. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 03:27 PM) It was a joke No, I was being totally legitimate.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 02:36 PM) LOL, as an 18 year old with 1 year of pro ball (at that point). That would be something. All Hail Todd Steverson
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) curious to see what the Oracle (Hawk) comes up with for a nickname "Cuban Bomber" "Cuban Cannon" "Cuban Galactus, Destroyer of Worlds" "Cuban Mayan Calendar" "Cuban Cuban" "Cuban Hulk" "Cuban Konerko" "Island Strong" "Cuban Thome" "Cuban Frank" "Cuban Hurt" "Cuban Giant" "Asesino del Tocino"
  21. Micker Zapata: 2015 AL ROY
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 01:02 AM) Well that's stupid. Baseball drafts on need less than any other sport. Most rankings would end up being nearly the same as a mock draft. EDIT: But I'm also starting to this it's more likely that whoever compiled this mock database is the one who put "Roden", considering they listed "Rondon" as the other name. None of those are correct. And does he explain why he decided to drop the Sox from the 3rd pick to the 9th pick? He was bulls***ting the whole thing and made a new draft order.
  23. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 12:23 AM) Who is Baseball Draft Report and what sport did they think they were drafting for with that mock? "I’m totally cheating here in calling this a mock draft when it pretty obviously is not a mock draft. This is a mock draft only in that I put team names in front of my first 2014 big board. This is a mock draft in much the same way that Jonathan Givony at Draft Express puts together his early season pre-lottery mock drafts. This is a mock draft only because mock drafts hold much more mainstream appeal than a straight ranking. Calling this a “2014 MLB Draft Mock Draft” (!) gets you 100x the amount of eyeballs. I hate the idea of “selling out” with a mock draft, but I put a lot of time and thought into this list so I’m good with getting it a little extra attention if I can. So, really, it’s a ranking masquerading as a mock draft. Sneaky, right?" "Draft order was made up by me. If you hate it, you’re kind of missing the point. Here are the players…"
  24. http://dcprosportsreport.com/MLBMocks.htm Most mocks have us taking Kolek. I really want him or Turner at this point.
  25. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 23, 2014 -> 11:30 PM) I enjoyed it. It may be because I've seen the clip used so often, to me it's become stale.
