  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) Robin saying it was more about him being dehydrated, which doesn't really make that much sense. I've been dehydrated and then tackled before. Hit my head and I was showing concussion symptoms, but passed the evaluation and was fine when I got water. I wouldn't worry.

    I have never seen a more fascinating poster than Greg.

    Those cars are definitely a 40s type deal. If I bought one, I'd get the Aero Supersport simply because it looks like a good blend of 40s and modern cars.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:14 PM) I would have loved to have him back the final year. I don't think many White Sox fans on this board would have been happy about that. Perhaps Jerry would have let Ozzie play out his contract despite the fighting with Kenny. I'd have been happy with that. I'm thinking the Sox front office did handstands in joy when Ozzie started negotiating with Miami. So I don't understand people blasting Ozzie for signing with Miami when those people wanted him gone, anyway. Man, shut the hell up. Ozzie refused to have a contract with only one year on it. That's well known. Blasting him because he is a piece of s*** person in terms of being a baseball manager, where post-2005 he was a petulant child who didn't learn to shut the f*** up.
  5. My first thought was "Who the f*** is Anthony?"
  6. Reed is the most interesting piece to me going forward. Is he traded for a young bat or extended, or both?
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 01:37 AM) Somebody on here called him a POS human being and I was responding to that. I mean people have to think before they write some of this stuff. This is just a sport. Not life and death. Players and managers come and go. Ozzie isn't the only guy in the White Sox organization with a HUGE ego. And you call people bums who never try. Ozzie may have the biggest (relative) ego in Chicago sports history. His first 3 years managing were a hell of a fun ride, then he made it Mr. Bones' Wild Ride. Backstabbing an organization, leaking info about the inner workings and players, and throwing players under the bus unnecessarily doesn't make you an A+ human being exactly. And I'll say it right here, Kenny deserves more credit for '05. He got those players and had impressive move after impressive move. I'd say he and Ozzie have it about even in terms of credit, but Kenny more so.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 01:28 AM) Do you really believe he's a piece of s*** human being? Do you have evidence of that? I hope you are not basing that on supporting his children and negotiating with another team with 3 days left in a lost season. Proof of the POS claim please. As a human being, no, Ozzie is not a POS. However, negotiating a contract while under contract is about as low as you can get as a manager sans betting. He QUIT with three days left, meaning he had been negotiating for a while. And he also upstaged Buehrle's last start as a White Sox player and had mailed it in long before he officially quit. Greg, stop trying to have your cake and eating it to.
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:17 PM) Whaaaaaaaaat. Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 17m #WhiteSox get wins in back to back games by pitchers born on June 5, 1988 (Rienzo & Petricka) Well then.
  10. QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 07:29 PM) No love for the Dexter Pittman signing? He's lost a lot of weight, and he's 6-11" with a 7'6" wingspan....Thibs'll fix em He's kind of a douche.
  11. QUOTE (MEANS @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) so freaking what, all you do is backpeddle and spin your arguments....look at our lineup, not much better. If the Royals hired fan favorite Ozzie Guillen and traded for AJP right now, they'd be World Series favorites.
  12. Like I said, if Rienzo turns into another Q/Santiago out of nowhere pitcher, we're sitting pretty.
  13. I'll over analyze and say ALEXEI DEAL IMMINENT.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 01:16 AM) I went with the Cubs cause I believe the Sox remain a mess. There's a very bizarre mental mindset on our team (yes, it started with the play of the Sox in Ozzie's final year and a half). Robin has continued that mindset - weird way of losing games; very bizarre style of play; inability to win consistently at home for some reason; lift and pull mentality remaining with no bases on balls, even though we have ONE home run hitter on the roster. Very weird team and I don't see the mindset changing enough to get us in the playoffs anytime soon. We're going to need a special manager to work with these players; don't know who that manager would be. I might try a very old baseball lifer next time. His name?? Tony LaRussa. Beg him to take over the team.
  15. Looking at it objectively, Ozzie isn't even a Top 3 White Sox SS of All-Time.
  16. It's worth noting that Artest said that the hardest player he has ever had to defend was MJ. Wizards MJ. And I know it was a younger Artest, but current LeBron is going up against an old Artest.
  17. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 11:38 PM) I'll take a good staff over good hitting prospects and its not even close. This needs to be said more.
  18. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) I guess it's relevant to this thread, is anyone else disappointed about the prospects we received from the Red Sox? I mean Montas has a big arm and control issues so he's a wild card but the other two? eh I was really hoping for Garcia and Ranuado. That would have been a home run.
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 10:48 PM) That's true. I would think Sale, Q, Rienzo, and Santiago are worth more than their top 5 MLBers and top 5 prospects combined going forward. If Rienzo becomes another Q/Santiago out-of-nowhere type pitch, Sox are looking good.
  20. You can get in with great pitching and below average hitting. It's rare that you can get in with great hitting and below average pitching.
  21. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) I'm waiting for a popcorn worthy debate. Garpax debates usually aren't too hard. They've done a great job, and it's easy to prove.
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 04:09 PM) *sits back, grabs popcorn*
  23. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) I strongly suspect he already worked out a deal with the Marlins while he was still the Sox manager. That's pretty unforgivable in the sports world IMO. It's well known that he did.
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 21, 2013 -> 04:03 PM) I'm thankful my ex took my virginity 5 years ago, which ranks right up there with the White Sox winning a World Series title, but that doesn't mean I have to give a f*** about her or like her anymore. That's about how I feel about Ozzie...except that I think I like my ex more. A+ analogy
  25. I'll remember him as a great manager until he got greedy and mailed it in.
