  1. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) I. Was. Thinking. The. Same. Thing. Been thinking it since the first. Let Chris go for it, then rest him a start and let EJ start.
  2. Chris Sale is the reason the Sox are in a better position than the Cubs.
  3. Good throw, no dice.
  4. Sale is fun.
  5. Good at-bat by Leury.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 03:27 PM) I went to Jason's Deli for lunch after "saving" 200 bucks on the last day of the sale at Kohl's here and was reading USA Today. The lead story was about Jerusalem natives getting their gas masks out of concern they might get hit. That would suck for them. I mean, that's a constant risk in the Middle-East when you're Jewish. But I'm sure that Israel has anti-air defenses and then whoever launched a missile would be completely and utterly boned.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 03:17 PM) Do you really think I would bone Hillary? Thanks for the uncompliment. Ben Franklin wouldn't mind. Are you better than Ben Franklin?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Is it true if we bomb Syria, then others bomb Jerusalem of all places? Sucks to be in Jerusalem minding your own business then boom! I doubt it. A lot of the Persian Gulf countries are US allies and wouldn't attack Israel. The one that you'd have to worry about is Iran and if Iran wants to get into a battle with an international coalition of the US, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel then they can go right ahead and get curb stomped.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) I would have gone with 2 fifths, but if you can get drunk enough on just one, more power to ya. A+

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 28, 2013 -> 01:57 AM) I think I better take the Fifth. I don't want to come across as rude or superficial. So yes.

I had to spend yesterday watching the 3 major news networks coverage of Syria for a newsroom shift to do research. I don't know what's been discussed but... China and Russia will frown on an international coalition against Syria, but will do nothing if it happens. Military generals were meeting in Amman to discuss such a coalition. The Assad regime is shady as f***. Lots of US congressmen are worried about the chemical weapons making their way to US soil somehow. A lot agree a precision strike on chemical weapon caches is the best plan. 4 Navy Destroyers in range, two aircraft carriers could be there in days. I'd say the US needs to wait for a coalition to happen if it does before doing anything.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) It's not to say I like it or am glad to see him act this way...I like emotion in players, but this is still over the top. Oh, it's over the top. It's just there are A) Way worse things he could do B) Everyone gets frustrated from time to time, as long as it's not common.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Geez. Ballplayers are sick if this is true. Some apparently will do anything to get the edge. I know the season is long, really long, and they get tired but just play the game the best you can drug-free. My gawd. What about pain killers?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 27, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) I'm really not that concerned about him punching the cooler. The likely worst case scenario in that situation is a deep bruise, and likely it's just going to be scraped or sore. Have you guys ever punched a cooler? Or accidentally fallen on one? It's incredibly soft plastic. If he were punching the bench or the wall I would be much, much more worried about this. Seriously, it's like half the people in this thread have never played sports (I know that's false). Especially if you feel like you're letting your team down, punching a cooler is up there with some of the safest ways I can imagine to vent anger.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 10:56 PM) You would have to watch professional sports for more than 3 decades in order to understand. Or it just makes no sense.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) Man. I don't know what to say. Those quotes are wild. Don't forget the media's role in all this. I don't know how a Republican ever wins with the bias. The media are all Democrats. Now before you say, what about Limbaugh and these other TV and radio guys. They HURT the Republicans actually because they are seen as nutjobs. Limbaugh doesn't help any Repub. get elected. No way. People think the guy is a windbag moron. Although I may become a Limbaugh listener if Hillary runs. Certainly he hates Hillary and his attacks will be interesting to listen to. 1) Again, you can make that list for literally anyone. 2) .
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) Or Dunn could get traded. This would be ideal.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) They don't have to be mutually exclusive. Ding ding ding. Who knows, maybe they do something crazy and put him in 3rd or LF, moving dayan to right and avi to centee.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 26, 2013 -> 06:06 AM) Eight quotes from eight different books about HIllary….These are her actual words. What a sweet -lady? (1) “Where is the G*damn flag? (2) “F**k off! It’s enough I have to see you s***-kickers every day! I’m not going to talk to you, too!! Just do your G*damn job and keep your mouth shut.” From the book ” America Evita” by Christopher Anderson, p. 90; Hillary to her State Trooper bodyguards after one of them greeted her with “Good Morning.” (3) “If you want to remain on this detail, get your f**king ass over here and grab those bags!” From the book “The First Partner” p. 259; Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident. (4) “Stay the f**k back, stay the f**k back away from me! Don’t come within ten yards of me, or else! Just f**king do as I say, Okay!!?” From the book “Unlimited Access” by Clinton ’s FBI Agent-in-Charge, Gary Aldrige, p. 139; Hillary is screaming at her Secret Service detail. (5 )”Where’s the miserable c**k sucker?” (otherwise known as “Bill Clinton.” From the book “The Truth about Hillary” by Edward Klein, p.5; Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer. (6 )”You f**king idiot” From the book “Crossfire” ~ p. 84; Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event. (7) “Put this on the ground! I left my sunglasses in the limo. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 09:22 AM) I'm not sure if that is a good thing, Q... QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 10:50 AM) I used to get annoyed by Greg, but I really don't now. I honestly look forward to hearing what he has to say about things on Soxtalk. Not necessarily because I think they'll be "right" but they will always be....stimulating ^ This http://www.gallup.com/poll/162986/hillary-...s-slightly.aspx Hillary generally scores as favorable, currently hitting a "low" mark of 58%
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) My main concern is that the Sox fall ot of the top 10 picks. Under the new collective bargaining agreement, teams with one of the first 10 picks in the draft that sign a free agent who was tendered a qualifying offer are not required to surrender their top pick. You have no idea how mad i'd be.

  25. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 08:09 PM) There are 11 teams within five games of each other in the battle for the 3rd pick. Much more exciting than the 2nd wild card race. I want that damn pick. STOP WINNING!
