  1. QUOTE (1dog @ May 15, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) Sorry if it's been brought up (I only listened to part of the game), but I just heard Hawk say that the Yankees have won the last 141 straight games when leading the game after 8 innings? This seems unbelievable... We should given them Duke.
  2. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ May 15, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) Thought for the Day / Stats of the Day: Thought for the Day: Chase Headley is the new Ryan Raburn. A mediocre player who makes a career of killing the White Sox and ONLY the White Sox. Stats of the Day: We are roughly six weeks into the season and the Sox “5th starter” has yet to record one single, solitary victory. Not…one… On this six game road trip White Sox pitchers allowed 21 TWO OUT RBI’S!!! (That’s ridiculous…) The Sox need to get home and get their collective heads back together. This has not been the same team since they gave away that game Tuesday night in Texas. There obviously has been a hangover from that one and they need to stop it quick. As far as Zach Duke...more and more the deal the Sox gave him is looking like a big mistake. Mark Maybe they have. Today seemed like such a duplicate of last season except for the tying it again. Too many mental midgets in the pen. No clutch. I feel that way with everyone in the pen. No Adam Vinateris in there.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) Not gonna win many games when 3 of the 4 relievers you use give up runs. Can't blame the manager on that. One guy should be able to get an out.
  4. So the Sox hitters have to beat two pens.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) Just seems to struggle in big spots, but I'm sure that's probably just perception. I've always thought of him as one of the mental midgets based on above.
  6. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 15, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) This feels like a game the Sox are going to lose. Same here. I'm waiting for that mental midget meltdown.
  7. It's just a reminder this team still has its mental midgets and I wonder how long it will take for the new players to settle in that same role. Sure it was bad game but even when the team is behind there are people in the pen who will give up a run.
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 9, 2016 -> 11:25 PM) I don't want to bring this thread down because this was a terrific win but the Jerry Sands situation does have to be talked about. No use for him on the roster right now. Yep. The reason for this team being so much better is there are few "White Sox" on the roster.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) To be fair our minor league hitters are a complete joke Nothing new under the sun.
  10. You have wonder if both Chi teams dominance is due to more bad teams this year.
  11. QUOTE (South Sider @ May 8, 2016 -> 07:44 AM) Man, I thought Peavy was a crazy competitor but Sale takes the cake. When I saw him smacking his head with a baseball I'm just like... what is your problem dude!? Only in the press and the DL. Still IOM one of the most overrated Sox players ever. Meanwhile the Twins are just really, really bad.
  12. I just noticed Abreau is a big dude. I wouldn't throw at him unless the bases were loaded and no one out,
  13. QUOTE (Tex @ May 6, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) I was just thinking doesn't releasing Danks put the team in a more honest negotiating position. Here is the spot for you. Look at the standings. Don't look at our offer. Look at the standings and here is your spot in the location. Why are you looking at the cash? I told you don't look at the cash, look at the standings. . . Athletes rarely look at it that way.
  14. QUOTE (Tony @ May 3, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Tim Lincecum...COME ON DOWN...You're the next contestant on White Sox 5th start roulette! Danks>broken down career NL. Then again maybe Coop can fix him.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 1, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) I love Lawrie's attitude, enthusiasm and energy. Much better than the lifeless dead clubhouse last year. I was a big fan of acquiring Lawrie when the idea was just a rumor and like the trade even more now. It didn't take long to notice that. They've improved in almost every position this year. If they become mediocre at least it won't be below mediocre like last year. If there is chemistry in baseball the difference so far is the chemistry of a few season's past is broken up.
  16. Down 5-1. That was a watch something else last year.
  17. Meanwhile Texas looked really bad like White Sox lack of fundamentals bad.
  18. I don't think we would be winning these games a year ago. From the little I've seen of this team they just seem so much better on defense. Eaton is a kick ass RF.
  19. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 08:13 AM) I had never watched Frazier hit, until this year. I'm trying to figure out how he ever was able to put up the numbers he did. He doesn't even look "dangerous," as Hawk likes to say. Surely he has altered something in his mechanics and approach. This can't be the guy who hit 25 home runs, the first half of last season. I think it's facing pitchers he hasn't seen before. He's still useful in the field at a position they had trouble filling.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) Sucks that the pitching has to throw 2 hitters in order to win That's why they are called aces.
  21. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) I can enjoy the winning and be happy about the team while also realizing the Frazier trade was a bad one. How so? I guess if the organization wants instant results they need to avoid NL players. I'm not really surprised by his start. It could be worse if he wasn't good at defense. Yet the organization seems to repeat this without looking at the history. I think it was a great trade since he's not an aging NL veteran.
  22. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 02:05 PM) Yeah.. The offense will be a concern all season long. With this offense, Danks will have double digits losses by the end of June. With the exception of Danks- I really like the rotation and bullpen but this offense will give us ulcers all season long. If they plan on really competing in 2016, they better get a bat sooner rather than later. It isn't any different than most seasons. You cripple yourself by getting guys from the NL that will take some time to adjust to AL pitchers. It's still a better team than last year.
  23. Color me impressed. 1-0 complete game shutout. It's still a win.
  24. There should have been Yawn - let's get back to baseball.
  25. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 07:59 AM) This season is already off to a fantastic start. I think the whole situation is a ploy to make the Sox significant some way in Chicago. All of the focus is usually on the other side of town now that they have gotten much better at baseball.
