  1. Carlos looking much better than last outing
  2. My guess is that they're going to entertain some offers for guys like Yolmer and Leury on top of the obvious guys, if they move one or both of them its a pretty safe bet he comes up immediately as I don't think there is much else for him to improve on in AAA besides some defensive refining, but if they don't move one of those guys it's better to let them build offseason trade value and keep Moncada's clock from ticking.
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) So what exactly happened? Is there a source? Rotoworld says he complained about ankle pain after rehab assignment and is shut down for another month
  4. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 01:53 PM) But dat beef sandwich! Is it a good sandwich? That is worth more than Petricka
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 30, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) The bench is Anderson, Avisail, and Davidson. Smith at DH. I don't know why he has Smith DH and Navarez catch, seems to me like Smith is much better behind the plate and Navarez is rather noodle armed for a C
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 05:29 PM) Effort this home stand has been mediocre Should change in about 5 weeks when we field the Knights
  7. Tons of ugly AB's today against this pitcher, they must have a really hard time picking up the ball off of him
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 25, 2017 -> 08:45 AM) The Phillies are going to get the #1 pick, and the Giants are just having one of those years. The Padres suck but are overachieving. The Reds blow too. I'm thinking 3 at best, 8 at worst. 4-6 seems about right though. Phillies are only like 7 games ahead of us in that contest with roughly 90 to go. No slam dunks yet, especially if we trade avi/abreu too
  9. Sox are gonna be really, really bad without Frazier/melky/quintana and a bullpen and likely regression from at least a few of our breakout guys (Sanchez, Leury, Davidson, etc.) So there could be a serious push for #1 overall
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 02:51 PM) Anderson looks defeated out there. Send him down and promote Moncada. Move Yolmer to SS Actually a pretty solid idea, Anderson clearly needs more work on defense and Moncada is just killing the minor leagues offensively
  11. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) Tucker is the guy I really want from the Astros, but would people take the following deal: Martes, Perez, Fisher, & Alvarez. Fisher was crushing the ball in AAA and is major league ready. He's really grown on me this year and could be Melky's immediate replacement. Perez is a very interesting SP prospect that has pitched very well in the Carolina League this year. Alvarez is a 1B but has huge helium due to his ridiculous numbers in low A (1.126 OPS). And Martes would be a great buy-low candidate if the Astros are willing to move him. They can keep Martes, I'd take Tucker/Fisher and a couple A ball players
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 08:34 AM) That's why I included the +, because Q on his own can't draw those packages after his start. Would also likely have to scrap Mateo and Tucker for lesser pieces. Not sure on the stros pen but I'd add kahnle to get the original package
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 08:50 AM) Which offer do you take for Q: Astros - Tucker, Paulino, Fisher, Colin Moran Dodgers - Verdugo, Calhoun, Buehler, Kyle Farmer Rockies - Rodgers, Tapia, McMahon, Almonte Yankees - Frazier/Rutherford, Mateo, Sheffield, Florial Which deals would require a + (be it Frazier for the Yankees, relievers for the others) to get it done, how much, etc. I don't personally think we will get THAT much but these are probably close. I'd go Astros though
  14. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) I just feel like Rodon is going to be a complete disaster when he comes back up... I don't care if he is just trying to throw a lot of pitches...when you give up 7 earned runs over 4 and a third in AAA, you don't have any business in a MLB rotation. He's gonna be hard to watch, mostly in my opinion because of his inability to control his pitches I really doubt these guys are going balls to the wall in minor league rehab starts, probably just seeing if he can control his pitches and make it to 100 , no reason for them to stress over the results
  15. Doolittle making our young guys look stupid
  16. Nice to see Swarzak with a couple Ks
  17. Hope Anderson made that comment worth his while, dislike this ump
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) The thing about Davidson, and I see why he was a first round pick now, is that for a guy with that much power, he has a really compact swing without much head movement. His main issue is pitch recognition: swinging at too many high fastballs; he's not all like Todd, whose main problem is timing and balance. Hopefully he will adjust to that and some of those K's will regulate back to walks. If he could bump his OBP up we are looking at one of the better third basemen in baseball
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) I will definitely shed some tears tomorrow. I did at PK's final game and the number retiring. Definitely grew up at a prime time to be a fan (I'm 26 and started I guess becoming a fan late 90s). I'm 25 and I gotta agree with you there, we've been lucky to have some greats in front of us pretty much the whole time we've been able to comprehend baseball
  20. Don't know if any Sox fan will be able to read that without a smile on their face
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 10:34 AM) Tough to tell teams not to make trades hours prior to the trade deadline. Yeah there is no chance that it will stop any trades IMO
  22. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 10:28 AM) I believe it is all in Davidson's head. He probably thinks he is too good for AAA and got down on himself when he didn't make the team when we traded for him. Then he struggles and presses way too much to try and prove himself and bam he sucks. Could be, he is considered a rookie I think yeah? 35HR and an .850 OPS might win him RoY
  23. I want to believe in Davidson being real, it's just really odd that he struggled so hard out of nowhere in 2014/15 but the line he is hitting at is pretty much what he has done the rest of his minors career
  24. I'm sure plenty of teams will come calling about Avi and some one will likely pay for way he is producing right now, so I'd start the conversation with St. Louis asking for Kelly
