  1. On my team no one is "untradeable" ( is that a word? ), but it would have to be a very sweet deal. Beckham is and will be a very good defensive player. Just keeps getting better with the glove. He hit well the second half and probably will continue to improve. He is cheap for a few more years freeing up money for pitching.
  2. I don't give a crap about Williams as a person. He can be a saint or a sinner. Exciting or dull. Black, white or gray. I only want championships. Save this kind of personality stuff for the soap opera. One championship so far. Time for another!
  3. I'm angry but not a poor loser. Congratulations to the Minnesota Twins. They overcame their own adversity and really turned it on in the second half. With out Morneau! Having said that I hope they go three and out in the first round!!
  4. Alexi is decent base runner and he is really fast. Those things don't always translate into base stealer. In total he is a keeper. He has a big desire to win.
  5. Keep them both and lets play ball.
  6. Juan Agosto lives in Tony Larussa's basement
  7. This is a tough time to do a fair analysis. This team will win 90 or more games. It would probably win about have the mlb divisions. It is eay at this point to just want to throw the whole thing away and start over, but there many good players here to stay with. Piching, pitching and more pitching. Floyd,Danks, Beurhle,Jackson? Not as great as most people seem to think.
  8. A little different next year. Tough April but no early road trip to Toronto. Easier second half for a change. Seems we often get the second tier teams early when they are still in it and hot. I'd rather play the bad teams late when they have given up.
  9. Ron Karkovice is a cop.......still stopping theft.
  10. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 08:23 AM) The only thing getting behind Carlos is "low, looping, line drives". Thats just not true, some balls go right over his head!
  11. The Dybber shall live in infamy................Wonder what former White Sox Jose Canseco is up to now that he been blackballed by MLB, even though he was right along.
  12. Teahan can hit but not good enough to live with his defense. A utility player has to play defense above all. There is no place for this pretty good player. He has to do something extremely well and he doesn't. He runs ok, he hits good, his defense is below average, when you add it all up,sorry, but no place for him in the lineup or on the bench.
  13. Jerry Dybzinski is still practicing his base runnig.
  14. Keep trading until you get a five tool player at every position? Yeah right. Quentin is streaky but we know he can hit. He is 28 and our right fielder for the now and the future. Accept his defense and get behind him. With his injury record we must have a good utility outfielder to fill in.
  15. He's our right fielder.
  16. The twins have been on fire since the all star break, and still can't shake the White Sox. Don't think they aren't nervous about the three games down in the big city gainst us. The inagural year in the Target could still be unlucky!
  17. I've noticed. I scan the standings daily and with the sweep of the Red Sox we moved past them in the WC. Stranger things have happened but we are still closer to the Twins and we play them. Some one will falter, just hope it is not us. I already hate the "don't stop now boys" but it does seem appropiate for this string.
  18. Fine time for the bullpen to be in shambles as every game is vital and no lead is safe! Sale still seems to be a mystery to the rest of the league and he throws strikes. Let him close a game or two and see what happens it can't be any worse than Jenks. Bobby was in a similiar situation in"05. I know I said before stick with the plan and dance with the guys you brought but I can't watch Jenks blow another game.
  19. Jackson is capable of throwing a lot of pitches. Didn't he throw something like 140 in his no hitter? I hope he gets a complete game. Our bullpen is more than scary it's terrifying. No lead is safe. Only Sale and ( I hate to even say it but ) Linebrink are throwing half way decent now. Every game is vital at this point.
  20. I got the feeling the mighty twins are going to stumble. Another one game playoff? Can Thome do the same thing for them he did for us in'08? Where would that leave the Ozzeroo?
  21. I've always enjoyed Hawk, but this season I have caught myself thinking why doesn't he just shut up sometimes. His act has finally worn thin. His crying about umpires has gotten really old. His pumping up of favorite players ( Beckham the Georgia boy, Piersynski, Beurhle ) is tiring. All the same references to the past over and over again is wearing on me. I would like a change just to get a new perspective. Rooney and Stony would top my list.
  22. In a perfect world Jenks would be a lockdown closer. At this point in time he is the girl we brought to the dance and we should dance with her. Juggling the pen around to experiment now is foolish. Leave the plan in place and go with it............of course there's always Linebrink.........
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 19, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) Let me ask you this, since56: I challenge you to watch and listen to every game for the rest of the season, because I will be doing that. Will you? Or will you just quietly disappear into the woodwork and come back at a more convenient time? Let's all fight with each other about who is a better fan, okay? Have you ever come up with any answers? Kenny Williams quit on the fans when he didn't make any moves before this season started...when he agreed with Ozzie to go with Kotsay/Jones over Thome/Jones as the DH and didn't shore up the offense at the trade deadline. He obviously felt this team wasn't properly positioned or he would have done a lot more than adding Edwin Jackson...who you can argue was just as much about solidifying the 2011 starting rotation as us making the playoffs this year. But I'll make a bet with you (you can name the price) that the White Sox make the playoffs over the Twins. I'll even let you assign the odds. So, how about it? Did I touch a nerve, quitter?
