So I like my Xbox One all right so far, but it took me forever to install any games. Dead Rising 3 had a 13GB required update that took me probably 6 hours to download and install the game. I live in a town of less than 1000 people and we don't exactly have good internet service. That fastest my connection ever gets is about 5-6 Mbps and that's the top package my provider offers.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 07:22 AM) I'm not even certain Dunn WANTS to keep playing beyond this season. I definitely don't see him being interested in a 4-year deal. No way he retires this young when he's on pace to hit his 500th HR next year with a shot at 600 if he plays another 3 or 4.

Peavy says he heard Dunn's bat break on his homer.

Honestly, if Dunn ends up staying the whole year (which if we are in contention he probably will) and puts up an .800+ OPS with 30+ HRs, I would love to sign him to another contract if he can be had on the cheap. Power is at a premium these days and there are not too many LH that hit 30+ HRs.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 10:55 PM) I gave in and bought an Xbox One. Mostly for Titanfall, but also for the nice TV features. Hopefully, the TV features actually work... I just bought an Xbox One also. Should be arriving in the mail today. When they dropped the price to $450 and included Titanfall that was good enough for me. Also bought Dead Rising 3, NBA 2K14 and pre-ordered Watch Dogs. Should keep me occupied for awhile.

I honestly think this might be the first time I've ever seen somebody get upset over the Sox going through another team's dumpster and taking some of their minor league fodder off their hands.

Maybe two or three guys in history ever busted the guts out of a ball. It must be an omen.

Avisail Garcia is out for the rest of 2014

QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 10, 2014 -> 10:34 PM) And to think that he was expected to be the center fielder, until Eaton was acquired. He has looked pretty lost and not very graceful in the outfield. He may have speed, but he doesn't seem to utilize it very well. Yea he's definitely no Grady Sizemore, that's for sure. -
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) Agreed. With the way Selig and JR have controlled the sales of teams since they took over, I'd be willing to wager JR knows rght now who will buy the team. Good point, but remember Selig is gone after this year. Reinsdorf might not have the same control over the new commish like he does Selig.

4/7 White Sox @ Rockies 7:40pm CT

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) I don't mind it except for the DH/No DH thing. That's my biggest issue with it. It's an unfair advantage for the NL. -

That was brutal to read.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Also the difference in admitting it and dealing with the punishment. Fans will forgive if you come clean. The only thing he admitted though was the fact that he was on the 2003 list. He still denies ever taking any PEDs.

Kansas City Royals vs Chicago White Sox 3:10 PM

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 10:29 AM) If that were the case, every Rockies player with some power will get 30+ HRs a year. What does predicting that Abreu will hit 2 HRs next week in Denver have to do with the Rockies? -
QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:16 AM) Big Steroid shares many traits with the once-loved Sosa. God willing, he'll be equally exposed at the final curtain. Drives me nuts how Ortiz's steroid use has been nearly completely swept under the rug and nobody seems to care. He failed a test the same way and time that Sosa did and Sosa is viewed as a villain. (And I am in no way defending Sosa)

Only a 30% of rain from 1-6. They can get it in if they want to.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) And he hit 34 last year, that still won't stop managers from challenging him when you are about 7x more likely that he will strike out. As are the vast majority of major leaguers. You're scraping the bottom of the barrel if you're pulling out K/HR ratio to try and criticize Dunn. He was actually about 5.5:1 last year. Better than ML average.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 2, 2014 -> 12:41 PM) Because most people don't even know what trolling means, but throw around the stigma anyway to discredit someone. Sticking up for your fellow trolls I see. -
Would you trade for Rasmus THIS season...

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 29, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) Freddie Garcia, 2004. Sox were 4 games back with 2 months to go when they got Freddy. That is in contention. -
The Official 2014 Opening Day thread
lasttriptotulsa replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2014 Season in Review
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 09:12 AM) I would hope the sox wouldn't win a bidding war for the disappointing often injured Colby Rasmus. Someone else can deal with that headache The only time Rasmus missed significant time was last year. If you throw out last year, he has averaged 143 games per year and that's with LaRussa benching him at times because he didn't like him, which I think really hindered his development in STL. He seemed to really figure it out last year. I know he doesn't get as much press as he should playing in Toronto, but he put up a 4.8 fWAR in just 118 games last year. If he hadn't gotten hurt and played at that level for 155 games it would have been 6.3. That is easily All-Star+ level. -
How much $$ will we get for Dunn when we inevitably trade hi
lasttriptotulsa replied to Vance Law's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 09:14 PM) Big Papi got a one year for 15 mil. Papi has been solid as a dh for many years . DUNN has contributed nothing . It surprises me that he still accepts money for what he doesn't do. Wish we had what THE BIG HURT had in his contract "the diminishing skills clause". I know they ruled that not legal. But that clause would sure be appropriate for Dunn. Even if he did have a diminished skills clause in the contract, the team would still have to pay him. All that clause did was allow the team to defer the money. After Reinsdorf invoked the clause, he and Frank agreed to rip up the contract and write a new one. -
Dunn not in the best shape of his life

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 09:02 AM) Uh, Scott, polarizing implies that their are strong opinions on both the like and dislike sides of the equation. I'm pretty sure only relative shades of dislike exist for Donkey among the fanbase. The sad state of pseudo-journalism. Other than Mark Buehrle, Dunn is my favorite player in MLB and the player I root for the most. -
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 05:48 PM) But Heyman was reporting the same, unless he was just copying Levine... Heyman has a lot more credibility than Levine. I think if Heyman is stating it, it's probably legit and he heard it from someone more reliable than Levine.
