  1. My agency has an office in Tuscon, so I visit there about a week every year. It's like any other medium size city in that it has nice areas, average areas, and bad areas. You just have to learn where those areas are and don't go there at the wrong time of day.
  2. If there were a team offering him that, he'd have signed by now. Players that are still free agents on Feb. 15 tend not to get offered 3+ year deals for $30+ million.
  3. My two favorite occasions for enjoying bacon: 1) When it's my birthday 2) When it's not my birthday
  4. I think I've narrowed down the US curling problems to two major issues: 1) They play poorly when they have the red stones. 2) They play poorly when they have the yellow stones.
  5. Are gay people going to be required to wear giant rainbow pins so they can be identified for refusal of service? I know many are pretty obvious about it, but many are not. What if you serve somebody but they don't identify themselves as gay until later? Can the business sue them for emotional damages?
  6. The Mariners GM would be fired about 0.141 seconds after making that trade.
  7. Sweden is only +3 after 2 games. They are going to be going for a bucketful of goals tomorrow against Latvia.
  8. I don't agree with racism nor sexism, but I support somebody's right to express their views if those are truly their views. Yes, in a way, pretending to be racist or sexist just to get responses is worse. That isn't to say that he didn't cross the line into making personal attacks. That still deserves banning whether genuine or not.
  9. I clicked on the link 20 times. Will that at least help your ad revenue?
  10. Based on what I've read about the case, I would lean towards not guilty, but I'm not 100% certain. In any case, the fact that the Italian justice system allows for double jeopardy is ridiculous, and as I said earlier, Italian tourism seems likely to suffer if they don't make this go away.
  11. I could see relgiously-affiliated organizations refusing to HIRE gays based on religious beliefs, but not refusing to serve, and even then only actual religious organizations and not private companies like Hobby Lobby and Chik-Fil-A which try to use religious freedom to skirt laws.
  12. This, whether intentional or not, results in discrimination against the qualified people who were given the job and then had it taken away.
  13. The winter has been so cold in Southern Indiana we are now winning Winter Olympics medals.
  14. So reverse discrimination is OK if it's a government employee??
  15. I wasn't comparing anything to private employers. I was talking about how I have personally been f***ed over three times by EEO laws.
  16. That's not what she said.
  17. Other than me not being good at selling things and not wanting to travel much for work, it sounds perfect!
  18. Yes, I'm aware of the clause that was cited, but it's pretty much a joke to argue that a degree is not essential to managing a 450+ employee operation with an operating budget over $10M per year.
  19. You've probably never had clients as incompetent as the Federal Government.
  20. 1) Applied for a position. I had very unique experience that clearly made me the best candidate for the position. I got the job. A black woman who didn't meet the qualifications for the position filed an EEO complaint that the job requirement of having a degree was discriminatory, even though every job at this level had required a college degree as long as anybody knew. Legal determined that it was not in their best interests to fight her claim and directed that the position be re-posted without the education requirement. 2) Re-applied for the position. Because I was still the best qualified person for the position, I got the job again. (The hiring official was also a black woman, by the way). The same woman filed another EEO complaint, stating that she was not given the position due to retaliation from her previous complaint. Legal again said that it was not in their best interests to fight her claim and directed that she be given the position. 3) In the meantime, a position at the same level in a different department opened up. I did not apply for that position, but a different black woman did and was passed over. She filed an EEO complaint. While her complaint was pending, the first woman went on indefinite medical leave. So, to resolve the second woman's complaint, they gave her the first woman's position (instead of the one she applied for) even though she had no experience in this area. So the position was never posted for me to have a chance to get it.
  21. Because the NHL shares most of its arenas with NBA teams and the NBA teams don't want the seats any further from the court than they already are.
