24/7 Wall Street: Sox 5th largest declining fanbase in sports

There was the key event of the owner dying. -
Wednesday 4/20 vs Angels at 1:10 is strange since it's not the last game of the series. The rest of the day games are Opening Day, Weekends, or getaway days. I can see wanting to have Saturday games during the day in April and May.

24/7 Wall Street: Sox 5th largest declining fanbase in sports

Ratings is a percentage of households. Sox market is so huge, they are still pulling in more viewers than most teams. Yes, next deal won't be near what the Cubs get, but it will still be good. -
Trying to match their OF total.

I read something about a match where a player had won the first set and was up a break in the second set. At that moment a very large be came in on the opponent to come back and win. The player who was ahead lost the next 8 games in a row. I think gambling companies are setting themselves up for this kind of stuff when they give odds and take bets on events in progress.

Offer him 4 years with mutual 5th year option. $10.5M $20.5M $21.5M $22.5M Option year $23.5M or $5M buyout if player exercises option but club declines.

I think the Broncos are going to make sure Peyton's last game isn't a loss to Tom Brady.

Which Friday?

So when employers cut my salary by 6.2 percent to make up for what they have to pay the government for healthcare, I'm not really saving $5,000 per year under this plan.

You mean like last year when they were given a 1 seed even though the didn't win their conference regular season and didn't even get to the final of their conference tournament? If they got seeded where they belonged they probably don't even get to the Final Four. -
Normally, I'd be against signing a guy that costs a draft pick, but in this case the Sox have already picked up one from Samardzija so if they just lose that pick they still have their usual first and second round slots.

Yeah when I was managing our call center, we always had our highest staffing levels on Thursday and Sunday between 8 and 10.

Yes, take it from an ND fan, don't chase the points until you absolutely have to.

I watched the whole game. I'd be surprised if either team had more than 10 possessions where they didn't score. -
Obviously the Dodgers are going to sign Cespedes because outfielders.

Only ones I've been to are ND, MSU, Purdue and NW. I don't know if you count UCLA/Rose Bowl as a college stadium, but that would be #1 on my list. -
I'm officially naming this the "Adult Child Living at Home" Winter. It comes and goes every few days without rational explanation, and doesn't give a damn how much that irritates you.

40 man roster is not full and Avi has an option year remaining. No need to DFA him.

I think most, if not all of the Elite 8 teams from last year are better than any team this year. -
How many times does I-80 have a split with another interstate on the way, and do you know whether I-80 goes left or right at that split without signs???

Interesting question that got posed to me on another board: Suppose that none of the following things existed: GPS; maps (paper or online); any highway signs (route numbers, road names, exit signs, mile markers, directional signs); any signs bearing the name of any state, county or city; billboards Without all of the above things, and without the ability to ask anybody for any help, what is the farthest specific point from your home that you are confident you could drive to without making any wrong turns? Assume you can split up the trip so that you are always driving in daylight if that helps. I think I could make it to a point in Wisconsin about 700 miles from home.

Hawk and Stone get multi-year extensions
cabiness42 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
OK, I don't know Hawk's exact time commitments before and after games, but assuming that a game ends at 10:15, he's not getting away from USCF before 11:00 and that puts him home no earlier than 1am [ignoring the time change for now]. For a 1:10pm game the next day I figure he has to be at the park by Noon so he's leaving home no later than 10am. So that gives him at most 9 hours at home and I really doubt it's that much. And he's old. He's insane if he does that. I get that he lives where he lives because grandkids, but there's no time to see them or anybody else so why not get a hotel room? -

I'd be very surprised if he's been driving home and back after every single home game, especially when a day game follows a night game. -

He lives two houses down from one of my college classmates. -
This makes the most sense to me. Two teams from the same division in the same stadium never made sense to me, plus the Rams are putting more of their own money into a new stadium in LA. I get that the St. Louis people are upset about losing the team, but people weren't going to the games. Every time the Bears played there, the place was more than half Bears fans.
