QUOTE (Donaldo @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:16 PM) It sickens me whenever I think that this organization is hell bent on putting him in the bullpen. It seems really, really dumb, particularly given his stated preference for starting. Hopefully he forces their hand by continuing to be as ridiculous as he has been. 4.0 IP, 4H, 1R, 0BB, 7K.

2017 Minor League Catch-All thread
Not sure if it's been asked and answered before, but any word on why Victor Diaz hasn't pitched this year?

Kyle Kubat has been mowing people down out of the Kanny bullpen so far. 10.2 IP, 16K, 1BB, 0.84 ERA. UDFA who put up decent but unspectacular numbers in 2 years in the Royals org, and seems to have only a c.85mph fastball.

Indians @ Sox, 7:10 Quintana vs Kluber
Would be way more interested in Anthony Swarzak getting a couple of starts than Dylan Covey/Mike Pelfrey

David Robertson looks unreal right now. Just the ol' 18.00 K/9 and 0.00 BB/9.

The version of Kahnle that throws strikes is interesting

Almost worth giving up Tatis Jr. to see all these eephus strikeouts

Didn't like the Covey pick at the time. Would've preferred someone like Mike Hauschild or Glenn Sparkman.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:54 PM) Well he's shown he can't play RF and he doesn't hit enough to be a DH. And playing LF would somewhat neutralize his strongest tool which is his throwing arm. What's to lose trying him in CF? Hell, the Sox played guys like Carl Everett and a half crippled Ken Griffey JR. in CF when they were contenders. But they can't try Avi in CF during a rebuild when they have no other major league ready CFers in the entire organization? Avi would be completely unplayable in CF, it's crazy to think otherwise. Charlie Tilson will be the CF when he's healthy.

Timmy just doesn't know the strike zone. Better hope that D stays as good as it has been.

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:22 PM) Trying Avi in CF is actually not a bad idea at this point. Some outfielders actually find centerfield easier to play than a corner. He sucks in RF anyway so what do they have to lose? If he can play anywhere passably in CF he would be much more valuable. Besides, his bat plays better in CF anyway. Remember, he came up playing some CF. I... but... just...

What a great scrapheap pickup Zach Putnam was. If he can keep it near the zone he'll be worth something at the trade deadline.

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:47 PM) Saladino is good. What do you think the plan is, now that they have Moncada? He looked really good defensively at third base in 2015

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) Is that good? The only thing is I fear he might get a little tired attempting 60+ steals a year to fulfil Kenny's prediction of him becoming a 30-30 guy.

I know the org sees him as more of a bullpen guy, but I'm at a loss as to why you wouldn't view Matt Cooper as a starter until he fails in that role.
