Dwight Howard after 1 quarter vs. the Pistons. 7 points and 12 rebounds. That's gotta be a record or something for most boards in a quarter this year.

Saw this a few days ago, Australia beat Chinese Taipei in a game 2 nights ago;

Won my 1st poker game in the Office today b/w 6 players, winner takes all. Got on a hot streak at the end winning 4 hands in a row, and I ended up winning with 3 10's (1 10 came on the river and I had pocket 10's) vs. A/2. So it seems my reputation around the workplace of being a poker nut (the Scottish guy caught me looking at Rotoworld, it had a poker ad, he assumes I was playing poker) may actually be justified.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) I got such a laugh out of that... The Hawks didn't get the rule changes would change the game that much... And now they're probably stuck with the contracts of Curtis Brown, Jassen Cullimore etc. They deserve every misfortune and bad thing that happens to them.

Dwight Howard anyone? Even though he's got no low post game, he's become such a monster down low already. I thought Paul would have gotten in somehow, but it shows how deep these teams are. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 07:11 AM) Marinelli is a defensive guy, so I doube he is going to do much involving the offense. He's there to put in the cover 2, and Martz is there to "work his magic". Just watch them throw 50 times a game even though they have no QB, should be fun. It would help if they actually had an OL to protect whoever's in at QB as well. I think the point people may try to make on Kevin Jones is he's not a quick small shifty guy, that Marshall Faulk is even though he's a damn good RB WHEN healthy.

Too bad Steven Bradbury won't be back to defend his speed skating gold medal. That's gotta be the funniest gold medal of all time. I always look forward to the Moguls (how could you not love a Twisted Daffy) and the Ice Hockey. The Luge and Skeleton offer good value as well. -
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) I think it's 9 straight at home. That would probably be it. I really do like their starting 5 as well, probably top 5 in the league when healthy. Lack of depth besides Thomas and Martin is a problem though.

Weren't people like Rowand and Wite here late in 2005 saying that Aaron Rowand had a higher 2nd half OPS then Carlos Lee? EDIT: And yes he did BTW.

Coop needs to start teaching that cutter with Bobby. But a change would also be good, and we saw the way B-Mac had developed with his during 2005.

Welcome to the club.

Heads, since you're not around I'll say it for you; Jerry Owens is NOT a center fielder. Most likely we'll see Owens in 2007 when he replaces Scott Podsednik in LF as the leadoff hitter.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) They have won 3 in a row and 4 out of their last 5 but they are only 5-5 in their last 10 games. Ahh ok, I thought I read that somewhere but I was obviously wrong. But they've definitely picked up their play ever since the Artest acquisition.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Terrible first half. I don't even know what to say. You know, despite being 6 games under .500, the Kings have some damn good talent. Haven't they won about 8 straight. Ron Artest has really given them some momentum, and they've got Bonzi Wells to come back. I think they'll end up making the playoffs when it's all said and done.

LMAO; So let's see here. Wirtz says his coach can't handle line changes, Khabi is the best goalie in the world, and then signing the likes of Cullimore aren't their fault because of the rule changes.
-
Stating the bleetin obvious here; So is that Francisco Liriano or Felix Hernandez we're gettin then?

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Yes, he is. He's 6'11, 245. He's very skilled, long, athletic and handles the ball well for a big. Just think Chris Bosh. I definitely agree with Qwerty about taking Aldridge if he's there when we pick. And I think more importantly, Aldridge could probably bulk up to about 265-270 lbs, kind of like what Dwight Howard is doing, which would allow him to play C, and keep Chandler at PF, because the last 10 games have definitely shown Chandler can thrive in the PF spot. Soxfan101, I do mostly agree on taking the best player available of course, but if the Bulls took Gay, then they would have to trade Noc, and it'd be hard to get equal value for him when you probably need to deal him. C is such a huge weakness, and good young big's are just so god damn hard to find (in aspects other then scoring so Mr. Curry doesn't count ), so the Bulls could really make a franchise building move here. Pretty much every PF/C that has come out in the past few years in the Draft (from the college system) and taken in the top 5 has been a success as well e.g Howard, Okafor, Bosh

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 06:49 PM) Im not a college basketball freak i but isnt Morrison a pretty worthless defender? Probably, but I'd take it he'd be better then Gordon at least. I found this on him;
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) Lol i get a mention without making a post . And I have nothing against Aldridge btw id love getting Rudy Gay more but 2nd choice is Aldridge..... Can I ask why the need for Gay when you already have Deng and Nocioni at SF? Unless Gay can play at SG of course.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) well we wont take Morrison if the Knicks get the 1st pick so there is no discussion Im all about Rudy Gay though I saw Rudy Gay fall down to #5 on nbadraft.net a few days ago, and now he's back up to #1. And remember that pick has no protection whatsoever, so even if the Knicks do get the #1 selection it goes to Chicago. And I wouldn't rule em out taking Morrison. If they decide to move Gordon, they need a SG, and Bulls fans have been harping on for months about how they need a big one who can play defense.
-
It looks like New York should definitely be favorites for that #1 pick right now. The Hawks are actually starting to play some good ball, Joe Johnson's getting more consistent at the point, and once the Cats get the likes of Okafor back, they'll get better too. So let the Morrison vs. Aldrige discussions begin.

Now this would also be interesting, and Smith's got a point about the 07 off-season being better in terms of FA's;
-
Sigh;

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) The Bulls are without a doubt the dumbest team in the league. You don't have Steve Francis. Therefore, you cannot be.
