QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) Within two years, Magglio will be a Yankee or a Red Sox. Book it. Or my sleeper team, the Toronto Blue Jays. But yes, unless Mike Illitch keeps spending and spending (and it's actually on some difference makers), Ordonez probably won't be around in Detroit in the future.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) Wow, tough crowd. I give Borchard credit for toughing it out. He could have easily left baseball for the NFL and likely more money. Watching Chad Hutchison and Drew Henson, and what they've done today, he's probably glad he didn't.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) I know. I wasn't saying it was. I was just surprised he hit for that high of average over that amount of time. The slow start killed him again as usual. He seems to have done that for the last couple of years down at AAA.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) I'm not anticipating getting anything for Borchard. He'll become a FA. Yeah probably so, most teams know Borch will be leaving, so why give up anything for him. I'm just speculating on teams that will be interested in him when that happens. Even Colorado perhaps.
-
Wonder when that rumor will pop up again that Maggs wants out, if Detroit can't get above .500 in the near future.........

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Joe actually hit a very solid .287 in his last 109 games at Charlotte. Yep, but at a hitters paradise and when Brian Anderson hits over .300 in his 1st stop there, it's not going to be enough.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) Borchard is still a fun player to watch at the plate. You never know when he'll just crush one. He might as well start packing his bags for the Washington Nationals. I'd put my money on them or the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are DESPERATE for a power hitting corner outfielder besides Bay, and would probably take a chance on Borch. And no please don't mention Vinny "I'm not going to say it" Castilla in any possible National deal.

Sounds like an excellent exprience. Glad you had fun.

Jose at the Cell, not his favorite ball-park but I think he'll get the job done, as he's been great for the last month or so. Just stay away from Mr. Sweeney and all should go well.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) Thanks a lot. I think most overrate our players, especially prospects, a lot. Which prospects would you say we overvalue? If you look at our minoir league system 2 years ago compared to now, I'd say it's in much better shape. We've had young guys contribute on this team from Jenks to Cotts to even Anderson for a game. Oh and my thoughts on Konerko. He's going nowhere. Simply put, for the money we'd save, there's no-one out there in the FA market that is going to have the same type of impact in this lineup than Paul Konerko would. And with Thomas probably leaving, hard to see the Sox losing BOTH of their 1B / DH men.

Dave Littlefield and the owners should be the ones getting canned.

Just so long as the bees stay away from me and know what's good for em..... I'll be fine.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) The official cereal of the 2005 whitesox. Tell that to the White Sox pitchers.

Thank you very much Hermy.
-
C'mon 1 more for the Herminator.
-
Keep the ball down here Hermy.
-
On a totally unrelated note, I get to pick up my authentic Home Sox Jersey tomorrow. Oh and where's the "Where would he play?" shirt?
-
My cosmic powers sense a lot of longballs occuring tonight.
-
Bears notes - They signed J.T Sullivan for Green Bay as a 3rd/4th string QB. Gage will start in week 1. Oh and Garza's already out of the starting lineup. That can't be good.
-
Gees that's terrible Tom. Prayers and thoughts with ya in this tough time.
-
Going with the ball to right field, taking walks, this is the Juan we need in the playoffs. He's a key ingredient to the lineup if he's firing, as he gives it a lot more depth.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Not over here, you've got to be 17 to drive and with our car prices, unless Daddy's minted there is no way you could afford one at 17. Even worse over here, gotta be 18 to drive by yourself, while at 16 you can drive with an adult.
