Why exactly does MLB prefer the dome to remain open? Houston obviously favors conditions within the closed dome, as it assists their homefield advantage. It certaintly helps us cause not to hear higher decibels or experience controlled weather conditions in the dome. I won't complain.

I hope Dye's bat deflection doesn't overtake the importance of our victory. Or, atleast at the magnitude Pierzynski's play held. Astros had numerous opportunities tonight to pull out a victor AFTER Konerko's HR. Watching ESPN, it appears the attention is focused on Podsednik's HR. Atleast their priorities are straight--unlike Buck and McCarver.

Here's the game. Either score one/two of these runs, or put your tails between your legs and accept 5 or 6 K's the remaining three innings off their bullpen. STEP IT UP.

This is beginning to aggrivate me. f***ing hit the ball hard and have nothing to show for it. Great, now it's beginning to rain. This was probably going to be his last inning anyways. Great job offense.

If Konerko is intent on testing the free-agent market, I won't be angry with his decision. Especially if he helps us win a World Series. It's certaintly his choice whether or not to accept the most lucrative, guaranteed contract, if that happens to be the determining factor in selecting a team. It's Williams obligation to replace Konerko's production if he leaves. You figure Dye can duplicate a decent portion of the production if moved to 1B. However, Dye's substitue in RF should be an equally powerful bat. No one from within our organization can fit this mold. With the relatively weak market, you can't expect the Sox to outbid anyone. We're likely looking at a trade revolving around Young/Sweeny. Which is sad. Wouldn't it be great if someone stood up from our minors and made this discussion a non issue? I would love to say once every 6 years, "Letting Konerko go is tough, but that [insert player]--he's special."

Interesting idea with the reversable shirts. However, wearing white while our batters are up won't help our hitters locate the ball out of the pitchers hands. If anything, the outfield bleacher seats alone should be full of fans wearing reversible jerserys. When Astros bat, switch around the shirts to white Too bad this idea hadn't been suggested several days ago. Another homefield advantage suggestion, although it would never occur, would be for all our fans attending Saturday/Sunday to turn the World Series into a college basketball game. Humming and jumping up and down whenever the Astros bat would be a huge distraction for their hitters.

To avoid that issue, I'm beginning at 11:57 and reloading once every 20 seconds. I'm sure everyone is thinking similarily--but you know there are several thousand people waiting for their clock to hit 12 before attempting to purchase tickets.

When I arrived home around 1 AM last night I knew sleep would be hard to find. An American League championship certaintly overshadows any academic obligations. After 3 AM, I just said f*** it--and proceeded to stay up the entire night listening to the radio and browsing the internet. If you've ever had 3 hours of sleep or less, and had work to perform the following day, you know it's actually worse than no sleep at all.
