  1. Hopefully this time off can throw Future Cy Young Backe off his form.
  2. Well, now we'll have a situation where Garcia can walk in the potential winning run. How many batters has he started with a ball? Seems like nearly every one.
  3. Well, if these run scores, and Future Cy Young Backe continues his domination, you can consider this a loss.
  4. Garcia's not escaping this inning scoreless unless he retires Ensberg.
  5. Wow, I wish Garcia had the composure of Brandon Backe here. You know, the type of composure one gets from throwing pitches in the dirt and hitters swinging after them.
  6. How many hitters can Garcia start off with a f***ing ball? god dammit it's frustrating.
  7. Well, I believe we can pencil in one prediction for 2006 season. NL Cy Young: Brandon Backe: 25-3 K's: 342.
  8. Heres a forecast of the 6th inning for Backe: slider slider slider slider slider slider... Until the entire side has either K'd or they learn to adjust.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) That's what it looks like when somebody has a 93 mph fastball, and great slider that he can throw for strikes. He gets hit when he isn't locating. Unfortunately he's locating. So I suppose from the AB's we've seen Backe should prepare himself for a 300 strikeout season and a potential Cy-Young. This isn't Brad Lige. This isn't Roy Oswalt. IT"S f***ING BACKE. Pitchers such as him don't strike out five hitters in a row EVER.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) That's just filthy. That's a called K if he doesn't swing. He's hitting his spots. Well, learn to adjust. They're major league hitters for a reason. And once again, this isn't Cy Young. How can Garcia have a better AB than our last 5 hitters? Ridiculous.
  11. This is embarrassing. Look for the god damn breaking pitch you idiots.
  12. This is absolutely ridiculous. Backe is not f***ing Cy-Young.
  13. Backe nearly featured his breaking ball the entire 4th inning. He's realized his fastball is getting absolutely tatooed and decided to feature more offspeed pitches. Solution? LOOK FOR THE OFFSPEED PITCHES INSTEAD. Man, Konerko and AJ let some floating breaking balls go by.
  14. QUOTE(frahungski @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) i was very happy with this blown call, it proved legitimacy to those who would deny it (not that they really matter, but it's still nice). and that we won anyway makes it so much better. it proves good teams overcome. Of all the terrible calls which occured during this postseason, yesterday's was possibly the most legitimate reason for adopting instant replay. It was an example of a home run determined to be fair, when in actuality, it was a double by a foot. THIS call alone led to a run. The numerous "breaks" which were "given" to the White Sox didn't yield runs on the umpires poor judgement alone. It was odd watching the BBTN recap earlier. Berman discussed the HR and correctly assumed it didn't clear the line. But later in the show he said "It was a home run," to which Reynolds agreed with him. Beyond a few mentions, there wasn't much attention paid to moment. I want to know why Buck and McCarver ignored Lane's HR following Hermanson surrendering the tying run in the 8th. Why they didn't analyze the HR under various camera angles for 10 straight minutes. This alone, if no other reason was clear, shows their bias towards our ballclub.
  15. Well, you KNOW the White Sox are winning now. Any opportunity to pass up controversy is impossible with this club. Seriously, aside from one call (Uribe potential caught stealing at 2nd base against the Angels), this team has capitalized on every missed call. In this instance, we're bound to hear "WHITE SOX LUCK OUT AGAIN" if this team wins tonight. As if the extra decibels would have made the difference between a win/loss.
  16. Although this isn't exactly a media comment, I'll place it here anyways. I consider this a microcosm of how most baseball players, and the general media, regard our fanbase. Eric Byrnes was featured on ESPN News several minutes ago to discuss this World Series. Nothing unusual was uttered during the normal segments debating Oswalt's dominance, the roof controversy, and their 2-0 deficit. It was the following segment on the fan violence which irritated me. Byrnes said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Their fanbase is the absolute worst. When shagging outfield balls, I hear more profanity there than anywhere else. It seems to be the mindset of their fans." Now, I know many of you are thinking the usual, "WHO CARES?!", "WE'RE IN THE WORLD SERIES," but this aggrivates me. More than Byrnes comments, it's the unneccessary commotion this fan incident causes. We're giving people more of an opportunity to rip our team.
  17. Well, looks like the early rumors of an incident--while slightly off in the manner Mrs. Biggio was assauled--were correct. It's amazing how one idiot can taint the image of every White Sox fan. The best thing that could happen is a baseball game tonight to distract the attention off this incident.
  18. Why exactly does MLB prefer the dome to remain open? Houston obviously favors conditions within the closed dome, as it assists their homefield advantage. It certaintly helps us cause not to hear higher decibels or experience controlled weather conditions in the dome. I won't complain.
  19. QUOTE(Linnwood @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) Sounds like BS to me At this point, I agree. When I first browsed the board, several threads were discussing it with "reports" suggesting it to be true. I know we're dealing with the most troll infested message board relating to baseball, but I assumed with the number of people backing up the claims it was bound to be true. After two hours and no certifiable link suggesting it's validity, it's probably sore fans b****ing. I'm glad to be wrong here.
  20. I've just browsed the Astros MLB forum, and they claim local news stations have alleged a supposed Sox fan pulled Mrs. Biggio hair following yesterday's victory. Just what we f***ing need, if it's true. :headshake
  21. I hope Dye's bat deflection doesn't overtake the importance of our victory. Or, atleast at the magnitude Pierzynski's play held. Astros had numerous opportunities tonight to pull out a victor AFTER Konerko's HR. Watching ESPN, it appears the attention is focused on Podsednik's HR. Atleast their priorities are straight--unlike Buck and McCarver.
  22. Here's the game. Either score one/two of these runs, or put your tails between your legs and accept 5 or 6 K's the remaining three innings off their bullpen. STEP IT UP.
  23. This is beginning to aggrivate me. f***ing hit the ball hard and have nothing to show for it. Great, now it's beginning to rain. This was probably going to be his last inning anyways. Great job offense.
